Only buy the abilities and spells you really need
In Classic, you are more or less forced to visit the teacher for your class every few levels. This is primarily because spells and abilities had different ranks and thus had to be purchased individually. Because if you are trying to deal damage with a “Rank 1 Fireball” at level 30, you won’t get very far.
When leveling, don’t buy all the spells – it saves gold, which you will collect faster later on.
However, the problem is that the costs of buying abilities and spells quickly escalate. Later, it costs several gold pieces to improve a single spell. That is all gold that will be missing later for your mount at level 40 and your epic mount at level 60.
During the leveling phase, you should mainly buy spells and abilities that you really need and that make you more effective in your respective role. If the next skill has no impact on your damage dealt, then it can stay with the teacher for a while longer.
So: Always buy abilities that make you more effective, but be hesitant with other abilities. Later, when you have a mount, you can earn the necessary gold much faster.
If you don’t want to run to the bank and thus to a capital city or the auction house every hour, you need to regularly clean out your bags and get rid of junk. To have more space in your inventory, you might even sell an item or two that could have earned more gold at the auction house. But that doesn’t have to be the case.
A small bank alt saves time, money, and inventory space.
It’s worth declaring at least one character early on as a “bank alt”. This character is best located in a city near a bank and an auction house. When your main character has full bags, you simply send items to the bank character via mail. Then you log out and store resources for later in the bank or sell useful items at the auction house. This only takes a few minutes and saves a lot of time.
Otherwise, you would have to travel back to the city with your main character, which is quite a journey, and pay the costs for the flight master. That would be another gold that would be missing for acquiring a mount.
3. Kill more enemies than necessary
If you have played other MMORPGs in the last few years, it was – especially in theme park MMOs – usually the case that there were numerous quests that were all interconnected. In the Classic version of World of Warcraft, that is not the case. Although most areas have several dozen quests, these are often just motivators. They are meant to lead players on the right path and show them places they may not have been to yet.
Killing more enemies than necessary is worthwhile. It brings gold and you don’t have to worry about running out of quests.
But one truth of Classic is: Killing enemies gives significantly more experience points than turning in quests.
This means you should spend much more time in most areas than the quests require of you. Even after completing a mission, you should often spend 10, 20, or 30 minutes just killing a few more enemies.
This grind not only increases the experience points gained, but also your gold count. Most of the gold earned in Classic came not from simply finishing quests, but from looting enemies.
Those who stay longer in areas and kill more enemies than necessary are not at risk of running out of quests at the end or running out of gold.
So if you find an area where you can farm enemies particularly easily with your class, then stay there – your gold and XP count will thank you.
4. Be hesitant in the auction house
For many players, it is tempting to buy a weapon in the auction house when their own is already a few levels too low. What are a couple of gold pieces for a new weapon, when you get a really great weapon for it?
Spending a lot of money in the auction house? In Classic, you should wait with that.
The truth is: A lot. Even though leveling in WoW Classic takes significantly longer than in the retail version of the game, you progress relatively quickly, especially below level 40. After just a few hours, you may no longer need the newly purchased weapon and regret spending gold on it. Especially when you realize that these are now more gold coins missing for a mount.
Additionally, WoW Classic starts equally for all players. If you find a great item that you want to sell, it may not yet find a buyer in the first weeks – after all, very few players will have much gold right now. So be patient and use the auction house wisely to benefit from it and not to distract you from important goals.
If you want a mount, you have to save early. In Classic, that was really expensive.
5.
Treat yourself to good food
After just a few enemies in Classic, many players will find that their character’s health or mana plummets dangerously low. While automatic regeneration is present in Classic, it is extremely low. To avoid long waiting times between individual fights, you should always have a few stacks of the best food for your level with you. Instead of sitting on the ground for 30 seconds, you might only need 5-10 seconds.
Knowing a mage can be worthwhile. Solely because of the abundant food!

The original developers of WoW take a look at Classic. They are nostalgic and share many anecdotes from 15 years ago.
In less than a week, the release of World of Warcraft Classic will finally take place. But before players can dive back into Azeroth, Blizzard gathered some of the original developers in one room and had them play together for a few hours. The result is quite heartwarming and shows how important the beginnings of World of Warcraft were to the developers as well.

The hack ‘n slash Path of Exile is one of the most popular genre representatives. But which classes do players prefer?
Grinding Gear Games, the developers of the popular hack ‘n slash Path of Exile, have published lists showing which classes are particularly popular among players.
What is special about the lists? There isn’t just one list stating that a specific class is played particularly often. Grinding Gear Games divides it into all levels of the Legion league as well as different levels. Because players of the action RPG choose different classes at various stages of the Legion league.

How reliable are these numbers? They come directly from the developers, and they should have an insight into the data. However, there is also the website poe.ninja, which collects statistics from Path of Exile, including player builds. The list only shows the high-level players and their builds, resulting in a slightly different picture. From this list, it emerges:

We are eagerly awaiting the release of Borderlands 3. During gamescom 2019, the shooter is a major topic that we will discuss in the stream.
What kind of stream is this? During gamescom in Cologne, we will be offering interesting live shows about new and trending games with gamescom together. A highlight this year is the shooter Borderlands 3, which we will feature on Thursday.
When does the stream air? On Thursday, August 22, starting at 4 PM. The Gamescom magazine segment begins at 4:00 PM. A major part of it is Borderlands 3.
What is the stream about? Many players are wondering how the endgame of BL 3 looks like. What happens there? How do you stay engaged and avoid boredom?
During gamescom, the developers already shared some info about this and mainly talked about two game modes: Carnage Ring and Trial Ground.
In the Carnage Ring, you play various arena modes. In the Trial Ground, you have to defeat enemies under time pressure to unlock great loot. But that is only part of the endgame, which is supposed to be much bigger.

At gamescom 2019, we were able to talk to Bungie about the expansion Destiny 2 Shadowkeep and some upcoming features. Among other things, we were able to extract from Scott Taylor and Orvar Halldorsson what they are most looking forward to with Shadowkeep and what the developers think about crossplay.
What we talked about: Our author Sven had the opportunity today at gamescom 2019 to speak with Project Lead Scott Taylor and UX Director Orvar Halldorsson from Bungie about the upcoming Destiny 2 expansion Shadowkeep.
What about crossplay? Sven also mentioned cross-save, which is expected to be available to Destiny 2 players starting from this Wednesday, August 21. If Bungie is already working on cross-save, are they also considering real crossplay?
As Taylor reports, cross-save is the first step to bring Guardians together in this ever-evolving world:
Crossplay is something we think about often. We have nothing to announce in that regard. But cross-save is… has there ever been anything closer [to crossplay] while we conducted this kind of interview?
Taylor and Halldorsson state that both are excited about crossplay. However, Bungie has nothing to announce at this time. Instead, Guardians should try cross-save, and we will see how this feature is received. Then they can still consider whether they want to take the final step to crossplay.
What is cross-save? Cross-save will allow players to select a Destiny 2 account whose progress will be shared across all linked platforms. This way, players can play their Guardians on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Steam, and upon release on Stadia.
However, this is not true crossplay. Players can only choose which platform to play on and cannot face off against players on PS4 while on Xbox One.
However, alongside the huge developers, there is also an area where small studios can present their indie games. The selection is vast, but time at gamescom is limited. So where to go?

FIFA 20 will differ significantly from FIFA 19. This is not an empty promise, reveals Cihan – one of the best German FIFA professionals.
Does FIFA 20 exaggerate with the advertising? We asked FIFA professional Cihan this question during the gamescom 2019 in our “gamescom together” stream. After all, there is often a bit of exaggeration when developers promote their game.
In the stream, we quoted some slogans that EA Sports uses to advertise FIFA 20 – and asked Cihan if they are true or just empty promotional phrases that have nothing to do with reality. We received some exciting answers.
Who is Cihan? Cihan Yasarlar is in his mid-20s, comes from Berlin, and is a professional FIFA player with numerous achievements. He is among the best German FIFA players and was able to test a pre-release version of FIFA 20 extensively.
FIFA 20 and FIFA 19 are completely different games – thanks to new ball physics
This is what the advertisement promises: EA Sports advertises FIFA 20 with a new ball physics system that delivers unprecedented realism and is supposed to result in new flight trajectories for the ball, even more realistic duel interactions, and physics-based behavior.
Cihan’s Opinion: According to Cihan, FIFA 20 can keep this promise – at least the beta version that he has already played. Due to the new ball physics, FIFA 19 and FIFA 20 are for him two completely different games.
In FIFA 20, significantly more has changed in how to handle the ball. “When you have the ball, you feel like you have the ball,” says Cihan – you can control the ball better and handle it more effectively.
This is what the advertisement promises: “With the decision-making moments, you have even more control over all those moments that decide the outcome of a game. You have even greater influence on the events in the key scenes of each match,” says about the gameplay innovations in FIFA 20 from EA Sports.
Cihan’s Opinion: In the beta, the improved control was clearly noticeable. Not just thanks to the ball system. One has more room for decision-making, can deceive the opponent faster, and implement more of what FIFA 19 was still too sluggish for.
This is what the advertisement promises: With the Active Touch system and new duel animations, user-controlled defensive actions should now be rewarded and exploited even more, EA says about the gameplay innovations. Is manual defending really more rewarding now?
Cihan’s Opinion: AI defense has been weakened compared to FIFA 19. In FIFA 20, you have to do much more yourself in defense if you want to get the ball.
However, he noticed that AI opponents block a lot in the penalty area. So when you get into the opponent’s box, the AI opponents that are not controlled by the opposing player block shots almost too well. Cihan sees this as a disadvantage – when you want to shoot and the opposing AI just blocks everything. He has already shared this feedback with other testers at EA.
However, according to Cihan, the manual duels have improved well. In FIFA 19, they could often be frustrating because in duels the ball frequently bounced back to the opponent. In FIFA 20, you get the balls with more reliability – manual defending is more worthwhile.
In FIFA 19, defending was heavily criticized. The AI opponents defended so well that many left the defending to the AI instead of intervening manually. FIFA 20 resolves this better now.
This is what the advertisement promises: “Authentic game flow gives AI-controlled players a better understanding of time, space, and positioning on the field,” it reads in several stores. Is the AI in FIFA 20 really smarter? Does it have better timing and positioning?
Cihan’s Opinion: He noticed that the midfield players are not particularly intelligent when the opponent has the ball. They tend to just stand still instead of working back. EA Sports still has to tweak a few knobs here before FIFA 20 is released on September 27, 2019.
Regarding the Volta mode, Cihan mentioned that he finds the mode very interesting. He has played it a few times briefly. However, whether it will succeed in eSports remains to be seen. Currently, the major esports attention is on FUT, which is why Cihan thinks Volta will not establish itself in the competitive scene just yet.

The new MMORPG Kingdom under Fire 2 (PC) will surprisingly cost around €30 at release in Europe and will be a Buy2Play title. Previously, it was expected to be a Free2Play game. This unusual mix of strategy and online role-playing is set to celebrate its release in Europe in November 2019.
These are the new details: On the occasion of gamescom 2019, Gameforge announces the release of Kingdom under Fire 2. The game was originally announced in 2008 and has had a tumultuous journey. Now, Gameforge has decided to bring the “most expensive MMORPG ever created in Korea” to the West after all:
The release is in November 2019, but there is no exact release date yet.
The game will be available in North America and Europe on “various digital platforms” – this could refer to Steam and the Gameforge Launcher, but that is not certain.
The price will be at least €29.99 – there are also more expensive editions.

How does this version differ from F2P titles? Gameforge states that the balance will lean more towards “traditional RPGs” rather than F2P titles.
The shop will include only cosmetic and comfort items like mounts.
Here’s what it’s about:By implication, Gameforge hints that Kingdom under Fire 2 will not rely on “Pay2Win” mechanics – as they have been accused of in some of their Free2Play titles.
However, the boosts that come with the premium editions seem to cast slight doubt on this statement.
Among gamers, it’s controversial whether boosts are acceptable as “comfort items” in the shop or whether they cross boundaries for a Buy2Play title.
Pokémon GO has announced the next Safari Zone in Taiwan. Even though the event is far away, you will likely also benefit from it.
What kind of Safari Zone is this? This event is comparable to a GO Fest. For a few days, rare Pokémon will spawn more frequently at a specific location and many Shinys will also appear.

Where can you find the codes? Players report that you can find the codes in the daily official WoT streams. The codes from the table are compiled from sightings in the WoT forum and Reddit.
Copy the code from the table and click on “Redeem”
Help – The code does not count: Players in the WoT forums write that some codes cannot be activated temporarily. An error appears on the website. As a solution, they say to simply try again later. There are apparently technical difficulties on the website from time to time.
A Reddit user writes that each of the codes is restricted to 15,000 users and no longer works after that. A moderator mentioned this in a WoT stream. We have asked Wargaming and will update the post when it is clear how long the codes will be available.

The medieval MMO Conqueror’s Blade is soon to grow further and aims to impress with Seasons and a Battle Pass like Fortnite. At gamescom 2019, we got our first impression of it.
What’s new in Conqueror’s Blade?
At gamescom 2019, we also got informed about the medieval MMO Conqueror’s Blade at the publisher my.games (formerly known as my.com). According to my.games, the game is a great success with already over 1.5 million registered players.
Therefore, they want to keep players entertained and have planned the following:
Revamped UI
All weapon styles unlockable for all
characters of any gender
What’s in Season 1:
Season 1, named “Grasp for the Crown”, of Conqueror’s Blade revolves around the theme of ascension to the throne. At the heart of the season is a limited-time event where you can conquer a golden city in the borderlands. Those who succeed can expect great bonuses.
This is how the Battle Pass works:
The Battle Pass of Season 1 has the theme of “Royalty”. You can earn skins in flashy kingly colors such as blue, purple, or gold in the pass.
There is a free Battle Pass with lower rewards, which you can upgrade anytime to a premium pass for real money. According to my.games, it includes cooler goodies. To progress in the pass, there are regularly new challenges in the game.
The roadmap for the near future
All of this sounds very much like the progression system of the battle royale shooter Fortnite, and according to my.games, this game was also the major inspiration behind the design of the pass. My.games will announce the exact content of the Battle Pass later.
