It seems that the map of the online mode of Red Dead Redemption 2, Red Dead Online, will soon change to a wintery theme. At least that’s the assumption of data miners.
What was found? While digging through the PC data of Red Dead Redemption 2, data miners noticed an interesting change. The code contains data referencing “world snow coverage xmas”, indicating a snow-covered world for Christmas.
In live-service games like Red Dead Online, which are continually updated with new content, holiday events are commonly celebrated. This leak does not show any crazy new content no one expects but sounds quite plausible.
It is very possible that Rockstar will cover the map of Red Dead Online in snow for the winter to celebrate Christmas or the winter season with the players.
In the players’ offices, Christmas trees are set up and fairy lights are hung. The icy streets entice many players to hit the asphalt, allowing their finely tuned supercars to drift around tight corners.
Christmas in GTA Online – Even a tree is set up
Players have been looking forward to this event in GTA Online for weeks before the event. This shows that Rockstar already has experience with such a snow cover, and it shouldn’t be a problem for the developers to implement this in Red Dead Online.
Additionally, players already learn in the intro of Red Dead Redemption 2 how well Rockstar Games can handle snow with the cowboys. On the way to the first shelter, Arthur and his gang members trudge through the deep snow with their horses.
A Guardian has discovered a new glitch in Destiny 2 that Bungie should fix quickly. It’s game-breaking. With this, players can easily squeeze through walls or even knock raid bosses off the map.
What is the glitch about? A user on Reddit is currently drawing attention to a severe glitch in Destiny 2 that Bungie should address. They have “been sitting on it” since the release of Shadowkeep, but now it’s time to get rid of it, according to the Guardian.
We have decided not to provide any instructions or sources about it here, but we will discuss the impact of the glitch on gameplay and demonstrate what is possible with it.
If the glitch quickly gains attention, it can be fixed faster by Bungie.
This is what the glitch is based on: This glitch is based on the new finisher mechanics that arrived with Shadowkeep. With this, players can or should ideally send a weakened enemy to the virtual afterlife with a cool finishing move.
However, this mechanic can be misused under certain conditions, leading to entirely unintentional side effects that can greatly impact gameplay. It is possible to “bookmark” a finisher and then unleash it elsewhere.
This is what the glitch does: The glitch essentially divides into two areas and can only be used by 2 of the 3 Guardian classes.
Once unleashed after bookmarking, it can be used to glitch through walls, allowing access to areas not intended for entry. This has been a tradition in Destiny and is seen by many as less severe.
The Wrathborn Primus (Source: Roderick Weise on ArtStation)
On the other hand, it can also be used under certain circumstances to take out nearly every enemy in Destiny 2—even raid bosses (which move, so Riven doesn’t count). The bookmarked finisher can then be used not only on regular enemies and those with low health.
What does Bungie say? Bungie has yet to respond officially. However, the glitch is widely discussed within the community and is gaining much attention on Reddit and in the media.
After all, this allows some content to be significantly bypassed, and players can earn loot in a way that was not intended. It won’t take long for Bungie to fix this bug—historically, the studio is always relatively quick, as seen recently with Telesto.
Whether the finishers might need to go as a result and be disabled until the issue is fixed, as some fans fear, is unknown.
What do you think about this glitch? Are you generally against exploiting such errors or do you occasionally use a cheese as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone? Where is your line?
With Mayhem 4, Borderlands 3 presents a new challenge. But is it worth playing at this level?
This is Mayhem 4: Mayhem 4 is the new level of the Mayhem Mode, which makes the game even harder. It was introduced with the latest patch. While the random penalties in Mayhem 4 are replaced by a bonus for both players and enemies, the health points of the enemies are extremely high.
The mode brings some new loot, and the community hopes for a good chance to grab legendary weapons. But how does the drop rate in Mayhem 4 actually look? Is it worth playing the hard mode for loot?
Mayhem 4 can be quite a battle
This is what the loot in Mayhem 4 looks like
The loot search of the community is this successful: On Reddit, many players have already shared their first experiences with the new mode. The user “Morzan_the_God” has defeated the rare spawn “The Unstoppable” about 25 times without receiving a legendary drop. User “Possum_Soul” called for an increase in the drop rate: he has completed the trial ground three times, but only two legendary weapons came out of it. This might also be due to certain luck factors from the Guardian Ranks currently not being active.
User “MonteTheNightcrawler” points out that the Mayhem levels do not necessarily increase the drop rate of bosses and rare spawns regarding legendary weapons, but only the world drops. This would mean that while legendary weapons may fall at your feet more often, Graveward does not necessarily have more legendary loot in tow. So is it worth farming bosses in Mayhem 4?
How much are bosses worth in Mayhem 4: There are no official numbers yet, but Paul Tassi from “Forbes” has tried to provide an estimation. Using an Amara build that ends the boss fight within 15-30 seconds, Tassi played 50 runs against the boss Gigamind.
Overall, these 50 runs brought him 95 legendary items.
49 weapons
9 shields
10 class mods
14 artifacts
11 grenade mods
2 skins
Of those, 11 were dedicated drops
This means: Each Gigamind run in Mayhem 4 produced an average of two legendary drops. Tassi reportedly went without a legendary drop only four times. Nevertheless, the rate is noticeably higher than usual. However, how much this can be applied to other bosses is still open.
What are your experiences in Mayhem 4? And have you found the new Easter egg in Borderlands 3 yet?
The Message of the Day is supposed to give players hints in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and introduce some game modes. However, PC and Xbox players were upset when a PS4 mode was revealed.
What was shown? The Message of the Day introduced the Survival Mode in Spec Ops on all platforms. This mode is exclusive to PlayStation 4, which is clearly stated in the text from Infinity Ward.
This announcement caused discontent among many players. They are being advertised a mode that they cannot even play.
Will the mode remain permanently exclusive? The exclusivity will last for one year. According to a trailer for the mode, PS4 players can play this content exclusively until October 1st. Therefore, anyone wanting to play the mode on other platforms will have to wait just under a year.
How is the Message of the Day received? Comments from PC and Xbox players didn’t take long to appear. On reddit user yp261 asks: “Why would you show us this if we can’t play it?”
Other players also voice their opinions. It is stated that it is “a slap in the face” and Microsoft must be upset that they are advertising for PS4.
However, PS4 players are calming their colleagues on the other platforms. They say it’s not that bad, because the mode is really terrible anyway.
Honestly, don’t lose any sleep over it. It’s a bad mode that’s basically a joke. Only a handful of maps can be used and the AI is totally chaotic. You don’t get much XP either.
The mobile game Brawl Stars (iOS/Android) is currently skyrocketing in popularity – especially among children. But what kind of game is it?
What is Brawl Stars? Perhaps not everyone knows what to make of the title Brawl Stars, yet it is currently one of the most popular mobile games among younger players.
In the game, players fight alone or in teams in different modes, utilizing the abilities of the so-called Brawlers, which are the game characters.
Each character has special abilities that can be tactically utilized in battles to achieve victory.
Brawl Stars actually relies on a fairly simple gameplay principle, yet it is incredibly successful. The game also enjoys success in the Asian eSports scene.
This is Brawl Stars
What is special about Brawl Stars? Over time, you unlock new game modes, including:
Gem Grab (3v3) – You must collect 10 gems as a team and prevent enemies from taking them while trying to defeat them.
Showdown (Solo/Duo) – A kind of battle royale fight. You collect power-ups for the Brawler and must be the last survivor on the map.
Bounty (3v3)– By taking out opponents, you earn stars, and the team with the most stars wins.
Heist (3v3)– It is your task to protect your team’s safe while the opposing safe must be cracked.
Brawl Ball (3v3)– Essentially, you play soccer and must score two goals before the opponents. Fair play isn’t necessarily the rule.
Additionally, unlocking and collecting new Brawlers is a vital element of the game. It sparks the collector’s instinct, and the Brawlers continually offer new, interesting, and tactical options for the matches.

Since when has the game existed? Brawl Stars started on June 15, 2017. It comes from the developer studio Supercell, which has already celebrated successes with Clash of Clans and Hay Day.
How successful is the game? Brawl Stars regularly makes it into the top 10 of the highest-grossing mobile games at SuperData.
In October, the game celebrated its highest monthly revenues since release with $52 million.
Fascination primarily for children
How is the game funded? It is possible to purchase gems with real money. These are used to buy loot boxes.
These loot boxes can contain new Brawlers or upgrades. As it is typical with the loot box mechanic, you never know before purchase what is hidden in one of the boxes.
Why is the game so captivating? Supercell was a sponsor of the G-Star game fair in 2019, and it quickly became evident why. The showcased game Brawl Stars attracted a lot of fans, especially children.
Because this game fascinates children in particular:
It offers fast-paced, short battles that can be played in between.
Children especially enjoy the colorful graphics.
The collector’s instinct is awakened, as new Brawlers or upgrades can always be obtained.
You can team up with friends to achieve victories together.
Daily new events motivate continued play.
Leaderboard rankings allow competition with other players.
Many “pros” play Brawl Stars – also in eSports – and stream their matches or create videos on YouTube. eSports championships are broadcast live. Children and teenagers want to watch their idols play and emulate them.
How are the ratings? Brawl Stars has a rating of 4.4 out of 5 points in the Google Play Store and 4.7 out of 5 stars in the Apple App Store.
Kalli writes, for example, in the Google Play Store: “I think the app is great! You can easily play with friends and get new Brawlers or coins, etc.”
ThePersonAboveMeIsDumb states in the Apple App Store: “I am currently at 12k trophies and some Brawlers (characters) already put me in the top 200 in Germany (so I have definitely invested my time). I am 100% free to play. I haven’t spent a cent and can still keep up at the top. I have been playing since the global launch in December 2018.”

What are the dangers? Brawl Stars primarily attracts children and raises the topic of loot boxes and children. Children want to collect all the Brawlers and rise in the leaderboards. However, this is often associated with purchasing loot boxes.
Additionally, the teams can create pressure to play more, as children want to achieve as many victories as possible with their friends.
Parents should watch to ensure their children do not overdo it with Brawl Stars and do not spend too much money on loot boxes.
The current Season 8 of Destiny 2 is not over yet, but clever Guardians have already discovered a cool new Hunter combo of an exotic and a new ability that could be a hit in PvP next season.
What have Guardians discovered? In the lead-up to the upcoming Season of the Dawn, the 9th season of Destiny 2, clever Guardians have stumbled upon a combination involving an exotic armor piece and an ability that has the potential to significantly ruin the mood of some opponents in the Crucible.
Many are looking forward to trying out this combo. The relevant Reddit post has already received over 5,200 upvotes in just 18 hours.
and the Gunslinger Hunter ability Weighted Knife. This ability, however, will only be available in Season 9 – as part of the extensive sandbox changes to the Solar classes of the Guardians.
What makes this combo so exciting? The combo has not yet been tested live, but in the eyes of many Guardians, it is very promising. The exotic armor and the new ability create an interesting synergy that allows Hunters to play in an assassin-like style.
What Weighted Knife can do: The knife deals high damage and is thrown not immediately, but after a long preparation. It flies with high speed, bounces once, and deals additional head damage. Precision kill melee attacks fully recharge the melee attack. Precision one-hit kills in PvP.
What the Assassin’s Cowl can do: The exotic perk is called Quiet Execution. If you defeat a Guardian with a melee attack or an enemy with a finisher, this helmet grants you invisibility and restores part of your health and shields.
What many Hunters are looking forward to: With the new ability, the throwing knife can kill with just one precision hit in PvP – just that is already a powerful tool in the right hands. With the helmet, skilled knife throwers can take this playstyle to the next level.
This throwing knife ability counts as a melee attack. So if you land a one-hit kill with the knife, the exotic Hunter helmet makes you invisible, allowing you to sneak up on your next victim with a fully charged melee ability.
What you should also consider: To use this ability, you will need to select the Golden Gun with 3 shots – that is, the Way of the Sharpshooter. There may therefore be 3 shots missing in the super that could be valuable in PvP, as some Guardians complain.
However, all 6 shots are rarely needed. Moreover, the 6-shot Golden Gun will be slightly nerfed next season. Thedamage falloff range will be reduced, it is intended to fight at shorter distances. At greater distances, you may need to shoot once more to finish off the enemy.
The 3-shot super, on the other hand, is supposed to become a bit more attractive. The range and reliability with auto-aim will be increased.
So the 3-shot Golden Gun and thus the new throwing knife could also be a viable alternative for the Crucible.
When does the new Season 9 start? What this combo is really worth can only be tested in Season 9. Because the new knife ability will only be introduced with the sandbox changes. These are expected to be implemented at the beginning of Season 9 as part of a major update.
The exact start date of Season 9 is currently not known. However, we do know that Season 8 officially ends on December 10. The odds are high that Season 9 will start immediately thereafter, also on December 10 – after the weekly reset.
What do you think about this combo? Does it have potential in your eyes? Will you try it out too? Or is this just a lot of noise about nothing? Have you recognized other combinations that could dominate next season?
Even before the release of the Vulpera in World of Warcraft (WoW) , Blizzard has now replaced one of their racial abilities. It seems that every Vulpera will be the best choice for bank characters.
What can the new racial ability do? In the data mining of a new version of Patch 8.3 on the test servers, Wowhead discovered that the developers replaced a racial ability of the Vulpera.
The new ability is called Alpaca Saddlebags. This is a passive ability that increases the size of the backpack by a whopping 8 slots.
So anyone playing this allied race has an additional 8 slots in the standard bag without needing to purchase anything extra. Provided this change remains in place. Because Patch 8.3 is not yet live. Currently, a release of Patch 8.3 is expected in January 2020.
Which ability was replaced? According to Wowhead, the “Vulpera Survival Kit” was replaced. This gave Vulpera the chance to loot an additional loot bag from humanoids.
Will Vulpera become a must-have for bank characters?
If this new racial ability is really adopted in the game and becomes a staple for the Vulpera, it would please some players. At least that’s the many positive reactions on social media.
On Reddit , players write “Wow, this is really tempting” and “I can’t even remember the last time I didn’t have enough bag space. Still, I absolutely want this [feature]”.
This ability gets interesting: Players recognize the advantage of having much more space for loot during the leveling phase. Even in the endgame, one could carry more stuff. This would make a significant difference especially for bank characters. So characters in WoW that you create only to store items or to operate the auction house.
Because they are always carrying stuff around. More space in the inventory is just what they need.
On Twitter, KelzamGaming writes “and every bank character will then become a Vulpera” and receives several “likes” for it.
What else has been found? The new “Alpaca Saddlebag” is a bag with 36 slots. This has also been found in the code of the patch. It is still unclear how one can unlock this. It could possibly be a reward for completing the intro scenario. But that is unclear.
Have you gotten a taste for it now and want to unlock the allied race Vulpera? In the guide, we show you what you can do now:
Last Sunday, Team GO Rocket took over Pokémon GO and occupied almost every PokéStop. It seems that a new event series could emerge from this. Fans praise the takeover.
In line with this, there were special field research tasks and the conclusion of the Rocket Special Research should have been easier.
Fans praise the event but also have some suggestions on how the takeover could be improved. Such a takeover could lead to a regular event.
Players want monthly takeovers
What the trainers say: The reactions to the event are mostly positive. People enjoyed the variety that such an event brings into the game.
It was especially praised that such an event can be played solo and that players did not need others for battles. It was also appreciated that the special field research tasks were available, allowing players to earn some special candies and stardust.
Many trainers wish for a monthly Rocket takeover, similar to a Community Day. This way, one could always work well on the monthly special research by Giovanni and have a change from the Community Day.
Here are some suggested improvements: Despite the many praises, there are also some suggestions for improvement from players on redditt:
The takeover should last not 2 hours, but preferably 3 hours
The battle against the grunts should yield more stardust
All PokéStops should also feature Rocket grunts (a small number of stops had neither grunts nor bosses)
The bug in team selection should be fixed, as players often waited 10-20 seconds to select their monsters
Especially the increased stardust would entice many trainers. There were some voices that they did not participate in the event because the rewards were too low. More stardust, however, would draw them out.
What do you think about the Rocket takeover? An event series with a future? Which Pokémon might await us on the next Community Days, you can find out here:

You must defeat a dragon in the regions of southern or northern Elsweyr.
In the dungeons of Wrathstone or Scalebreaker or also in the trial Sunspire, you need to take down a leader.

There are now predictions for TOTW 11 (Team of the Week) in FIFA 20. We show you which players are being considered for the next Team of the Week.High on the list are among others Son, Modric, and Sancho.
What are TOTW Predictions? TOTW Predictions are community assessments of the next Team of the Week in FIFA 20 Ultimate Team. Here, an attempt is made to guess which players could earn a spot in the Team of the Week based on their performances.
The FIFA community often succeeds in predicting some players accurately.
Prediction for Team of the Week 11 in Ultimate Team
Jadon Sancho has found his form again. He had a strong game against SC Paderborn and was instrumental in the comeback from a 0:3 halftime score. He contributed one goal and one assist to the final score of 3:3.
This could be what the first Inform card of Sancho looks like
Koen Casteels kept his clean sheet with 9 saves in the 2:0 against Eintracht Frankfurt. With this top performance, an Inform card would be more than deserved.
Benjamin Pavard defended well and also scored a goal against Fortuna Düsseldorf. The FC Bayern defender thus recommends himself for a place in the Team of the Week.
Philipp Max assisted a goal and also scored one himself in Augsburg’s 4:0 victory against Hertha BSC. Not bad for a defender. A TOTW card therefore seems likely.
Emil Forsberg played strongly and scored 2 goals against 1. FC Köln. He could very well have earned his first Inform card in FUT 20 with this.
Kunde Malong significantly contributed to FSV Mainz’s 5:1 victory over Hoffenheim with 2 goals. Maybe this performance is enough for an Inform card? We will know more on Wednesday.
The release of TOTW 11: The new Inform cards of Team of the Week 11 will be available in packs starting Wednesday, November 27, at 7:00 PM.
How you can use the predictions now: You can use the predictions to quickly earn coins in FUT 20. What you need to do for this, find out here:
The MMORPG strategy hybrid “Kingdom under Fire 2” has launched on Steam. The online role-playing game was extremely expensive to develop, yet had nearly no hype leading up to its Western release in November 2019. Initial reviews on Steam are now strong, though they do point out clear weaknesses in the MMORPG aspect.
What is so strange? For years, every new AAA MMORPG that made its way from Asia to the West was accompanied by much fanfare and hype, at least within the niche of MMORPG fans.
The market for new MMORPGs has been so dried up since 2014 and the demand so high that any game from the Far East garners significant attention, provided it looks halfway decent.
The best example of this is “Bless,” which entered Early Access on Steam in May 2018. However, the MMORPG launched in an unfinished, technically flawed state and sparked outrage among many players. Many MMORPG fans quickly regretted buying Bless on Steam.
Therefore, the expectations for the title were likely quite low when Kingdom under Fire 2 was announced by GameForge for release in Europe and North America.
No hype was created like with Bless (2018), Black Desert (2016), or earlier ArcheAge (2014).
Steam Reviews 77% positive for Kingdom under Fire 2
What do the Steam reviews say? Currently, Kingdom under Fire 2 has on Steam:
162 reviews in German and English. Of these, 77% are positive. (via steam).
Across all languages, there are 268 reviews (75% positive).
A player says he originally bought Kingdom under Fire 2 out of nostalgia. He liked the ancient Kingdom under Fire 1 (2001): But then he found out that KuF 2 is a mix of turn-based strategy, Dynasty Warriors, and MMO. The game is said not to be “Pay2Win” – only the running quests were bothersome. But the game gets better from level 10. For a game, it is very cinematic with cut-scenes, bosses, and a story campaign.
Another user says the game has a weak start but comes alive after 5-10 hours. The tactical missions with the troops were fun. In the endgame, the game shines.
This is what a negative Steam review says: One who rated the game negatively criticizes the MMO aspects. They are “incredibly tedious and lifeless” – this part clearly falls short compared to the “strategy” elements of Kingdom under Fire 2.
What do the game site’s reviews say? The game is so under the radar that it has no entry on Metacritic yet. The site wccftech has dealt with the game, giving it a rating of 6.5/10 in the end.
It is said to be a divided game. Some parts are fantastic, others terrible. Generally, the reviewer likes Kingdom under Fire 2 but will play it more.
Apparently, an MMORPG that hardly anyone had on their radar is worth a closer look.
The streaming service Twitch runs its own tournament format with “Twitch Rivals”. It got a little strange when the official stream showed the raging LoL player Tyler “Tyler1” Steinkampf. Because the star of the League of Legends just had one of his moments.
What is Twitch Rivals? It is a tournament series officially operated by Twitch. One would think that there would be rules and it would be “civilized” there.
In the tournaments of Twitch Rivals, not necessarily the best players of a game are invited, but “prominent streamers” or former professionals.
Currently, a highly publicized tournament from Twitch Rivals is running in LoL. Here, 8 well-known LoL streamers and ex-professionals of League of Legends could assemble their teams as captains. The team captains are streamers like TFBlade, Yassuo or imaqtpie.
This was the scene: The official Twitch stream switched to Tyler1 as his team had just won the decisive fight in the match. For the first few seconds, Tyler1 is still relatively calm, but then he gets into the groove.
The two casters are currently analyzing what’s happening in the match: “It’s over, it’s over”, then the Tyler1 show begins.
“Kick their damn asses,” the streamer yells. “Sit your ass down!” (SKIT THE UFCK PWDOWN), he types in the chat.
Tyler1 is known for his play with Draven.
Tyler1 named his team “Shadowdogs”, hence he yells “Shadowdogs motherfuckers!” and plays “Who let the dogs out?” while he swirls, bounces and celebrates in his chair.
In the end, he calls on his teammates to thank him, as he clearly carried them.
The Twitch casters laugh and enjoy the show. One says: “This all makes sense” and “Can I have this moment on a T-shirt?”
The clip of the incident has now over 270,000 views. People love this scene where the casters switch to an “official match” and experience the eruption of the volcano “Tyler1” (via reddit).
He is the biggest Twitch streamer for LoL: Tyler1.
From Underdog to Icon of LoL on Twitch
What’s behind it: The remarkable thing here is that someone like Tyler1 is now “so big” that he can do whatever he wants and it’s still okay.
Twitch seeks to be close to him – while he was avoided by Riot Games for years.
But Tyler1 seems to float above these things now. After the first day of the tournament, Tyler1’s team stands with a record of 3-0 as the top of Group A.
Every month there is a Community Day in Pokémon GO, but which Pokémon will appear is not yet known. We present to you 14 monsters that would fit well.
What kind of list is this? The Pokémon for the Community Days in 2020 are not yet known. We are only presenting possible candidates here because they fit well into the profile of the other Pokémon from the Community Day.
None of the monsters necessarily has to actually get a Community Day in the end.
Remember these 14 Pokémon for the Community Day
What are the requirements for a Community Day? The pattern of the Community Day is always quite similar and some characteristics can be observed:
Either the Pokémon was a starter or a rather rare Pokémon (here Evoli was the exception)
Plinfa
What are the arguments in favor? A lot. Chelast and recently Panflam both already had their Community Day. Plinfa is the last remaining starter from the 4th generation without a Community Day. It is quite certain that this event will still come.
What are the arguments against? Actually nothing at all. Every starter has received their Community Day so far.
How does the shiny look? Shiny Plinfa is simply a bit brighter. This is how the entire Plinfa family looks.
Serpifeu, Floink und Ottaro
What are the arguments in favor? Here one can be quite sure. Starters have always received a Community Day so far, and the 5th generation could continue this trend.
What are the arguments against? So far a starter Pokémon always alternated with another monster, meaning every 2 months. According to this theory, Serpifeu should already have a Community Day in March 2020. This might be a bit too early for Niantic.
How do the shinies look? Shiny Serpifeu strongly resembles Chelast and is a bit darker. Ottaro is also darker and is dark blue as a shiny. Floink, on the other hand, is a bit brighter and instead of orange, it is yellow as shiny.
Abra
What are the arguments in favor? Abra is one of the few Pokémon from the 1st generation that is not yet shiny in the game and still has 2 evolutions. Additionally, Simsala is really good and could become even better with a special attack on Community Day.
It is quite conceivable that Niantic will bring a Pokémon from an older generation back to the Community Day. This could help alleviate the pressure for always new Pokémon.
What are the arguments against? Abra has been available since the launch of the game. Niantic could have used various other Community Days to introduce Abra as shiny into the game.
How does the shiny look? Here you have to look closely. Shiny Abra is only a bit lighter than the normal version. A real difference can only be seen with shiny Simsala, as it has pink elements.
Rihorn
What are the arguments in favor? Rihorn is similar to Quiekel. It has a 3rd evolution since the 4th generation, which can only be obtained through the Sinnoh stone. Niantic could host a similar Community Day like the one with Quiekel.
It also helps that Rihornior is quite strong, and if it could learn the ground attack Earth Powers, it would rank among the top attackers.
What are the arguments against? Just like with Abra, the question arises: Why is there a Community Day so late? Niantic could have taken their chance earlier and hosted a Community Day here.
How does the shiny look? The shiny variant can be easily recognized at all stages. Shiny Rihorn is brown instead of gray. Rihornior even has yellow elements.
Chaneira und Relaxo
What are the arguments in favor? Chaneira and Relaxo are both quite rare Pokémon and are not yet shiny in the game. Chaneira has 3 evolutionary stages with the baby Wonneira and Heiteira as well.
An exclusive attack could make both Pokémon even stronger as defenders.
What are the arguments against? The likelihood of such a Community Day is low. After all, both monsters have a baby Pokémon, and these would also need to be introduced as shiny.
Furthermore, the question arises about the timing. The Community Days for these two Pokémon could have happened much earlier.
How do the shinies look? Both shinies are easy to recognize. Releaxo is considerably darker, and Chaneira is greenish.
Koknodon
What are the arguments in favor? Koknodon is, along with Kaumalat, the highlight of the 4th generation. The evolution Rameidon is the best rock attacker, and Koknodon is quite rare in the wild.
What are the arguments against? Koknodon has only one evolution. Here, Niantic would have to deviate from their line. Additionally, it is difficult to teach Rameidon another suitable attack. As it is now, it is already ideal.
How does the shiny look? Instead of the blue features on the body, shiny Koknodon has red elements. The difference is clearly recognizable.
Schilterus
What are the arguments in favor? Schilterus’ evolution Bollterus is a real weapon, especially in PvP. A Community Day like this would fit with the introduction of the PvP league next year. There, one could really achieve something with Bollterus.
What are the arguments against? Regardless of PvP, Schilterus is quite useless. Moreover, there is only one evolution. Therefore, Schilterus is not necessarily a prime example for a good Community Day.
What does the shiny look like? The shield of the Pokémon is blue in the shiny variant instead of gray. So you can see a clear difference.
Kaumalat
What are the arguments in favor? Quite a lot. Kaumalat is the best example of a Community Day in the 4th generation. It is rare, quite strong, and has 3 evolutionary stages. Every other Pokémon from previous generations that has these characteristics has also received a Community Day.
Additionally, Knakrack could become a real weapon with the right ground or dragon type attack.
What are the arguments against?Kaumalat is extremely rare, and many may not even have that Dex entry yet. Niantic could significantly devalue Kaumalat by giving it a Community Day.
How does the shiny look? Kaumalat and Knarksel have a much stronger color as shiny. Knakrack, on the other hand, is somewhat paler and grayer.
Lichtel
What are the arguments in favor? From the 5th generation, Lichtel stands out as a strong candidate in the current roster. It has two evolutions, and the final evolution Skelabra is exceptionally useful as a fire and ghost attacker.
What are the arguments against? Actually very little, but Lichtel belongs to the 5th generation, and there has not yet been a Community Day from that generation. One should first wait and see if Niantic will change something about the event series with this generation.
How does the shiny look? The flame makes the difference here. With each evolution, the flame in the shiny version has a different color.
Kapuno
What are the arguments in favor? Along with Lichtel, Kapuno is a strong candidate from the 5th generation. It also has two evolutions, and Trikephalo is very important in the meta of Pokémon GO.
With the right attack, it could even become better and compete with Darkrai.
What are the arguments against? Here, one can list the same arguments as for Lichtel. One must await the first Community Days of the 5th generation. However, based on the existing parameters, there is little against a Community Day.
How does the shiny look? Shiny Kapuno is green instead of blue. You can see the differences at first glance.
Rotomurf
What are the arguments in favor? Rotomurf is currently one of the most useful Pokémon of the 5th generation. Its evolution Stalobor is among the best ground attackers in the game.
What are the arguments against? Initially, the same concerns as with Lichtel and Kapuno apply. Additionally, Rotomurf only has one evolution.
How does the shiny look? Rotomurf has purple stripes on its chest as shiny. Stalobor, on the other hand, is almost completely red in its shiny version.
These Pokémon are missing here: The 5th generation is still full of other possible Pokémon. However, these have not yet appeared in Pokémon GO, so we do not take them into account here.
Which Community Day would you wish for? Is there a Pokémon missing from this list?
Don’t want to miss out on the pinnacle gear in the Nightmare Hunt of Destiny 2? This week, there is a special trick to secure the coveted pinnacle loot easily. We’ll show you how.
What is pinnacle gear? If you want to level your Guardian beyond the hard cap of 950 without the seasonal artifact, you need pinnacle gear. This grants you additional power boosts after reaching the hard cap up to the pinnacle cap of 960.
Why Nightmare Hunt? Sources for pinnacle gear are limited. These powerful items are available only from the most challenging in-game activities like the Raid or the Nightmare Hunts (and yes, also from the Iron Banner).
The Nightmare Hunt is a new activity that came with the release of Shadowkeep. There, you hunt so-called nightmares, a type of manifestation of iconic enemies from the Destiny universe.
This way, you can earn a pinnacle item once a week.
What should you consider in advance? If you want to obtain pinnacle gear through the Nightmare Hunt, you need to successfully master this activity on the highest of the four difficulty levels – that is, on Grandmaster.
This can prove quite difficult and challenging. The recommended power level for Grandmasters is 980. But with a trick, the Nightmare Hunt at the highest difficulty becomes significantly easier.
Important: Choose and start the Nightmare Hunt enslavement with Zydron, the Gate Lord, as the final boss.
This will make the boss a walk in the park: You still have to fight your way normally to the boss. The trick only takes effect there.
So, you need to make your way to the underground room with the large Vex portal, where the final fight against Zydron will take place.
Once you arrive in the boss room in front of the portal and the Vex final boss has spawned, run (with your perspective looking towards the portal) left to the wall and follow it towards the entrance (away from the portal) until the natural rock wall ends and a “bricked” wall structure begins.
At the top of this structure, there is a platform that you can easily work your way up to with a few jumps. This is known as a safe spot; the final boss cannot hit you there for some reason. At least, he won’t shoot at you and will just look at you once you’re up there.
In this short video, you will see exactly how to get there:

Now you can fight the boss and his minions from there, which is much easier than the often tough regular fight.
What should you consider in the boss fight? Keep in mind that the fight will take place at comparatively long distances. So, pack suitable weapons. For this, we recommend
Additionally, you should equip suitable supers that are suitable for fighting at a distance. But also stationary supers like Well of Radiance or the Titan bubble with weapons of light can prove to be quite helpful up on the platform, making the fight easier.
Also, keep in mind: Zydron will still become invulnerable during the fight and will spawn nightmare enemies that need to be eliminated in order to proceed.
That can also be done conveniently from above. So eliminate the nightmares and all smaller enemies that disturb you and then turn your attention back to the boss. If you run low on ammunition, you can quickly pick it up below and come back up.
You can also split up. One part of the players can fight from the platform, while another can position themselves left behind the portal on a small hill, from where they can also fight effectively.
Have you tried this method? Do you find the fight easier this way?
At CitizenCon 2019, the SF MMO “Star Citizen” presented a new mode. As an extension of the shooter mode “Star Marine”, “Theatres of War” was showcased: This is a 40-player mode where players must act tactically. There are ground and air battles.
What kind of mode is this? The mode is called “Theatres of War.” In Star Citizen, this is even a “game within a game” – the pilots in this world reenact historical battles in a virtual reality for entertainment and to train their combat skills.
The mode combines vehicle and infantry combat. This is known from game series like Battlefield or Planetside.
In “Theatres of War”, there are 20 attackers and 20 defenders. Players can choose between certain predefined classes, i.e., different armaments, as gamerant reports:
a foot soldier
An attacker
A sniper
An “Anti-Vehicle” character to combat vehicles
This is how the current map runs: The first scenario introduced by CIG is called “Crossroads of Crime”: It reenacts a historical conflict between a criminal syndicate “The Supreme” and “The Advocacy”, who are attacking.
The battle is divided into 3 phases:
First, attackers must disable the enemy’s anti-aircraft defenses with vehicles
In the second phase, attackers must take out a radar – this phase takes place mostly in the air
In the third phase, it goes into orbit, where low gravity plays a role.
A match lasts about 30 minutes.
Ground and air combat in one mode
What is the idea behind the mode? The mode is meant to connect existing parts that have already been developed for Star Citizen. Elements from the “dogfighting” mode Arena Commander and the FPS mode Star Marine are combined to create a mix of air and ground combat.
It is said by the developers behind Star Citizen that it took about 6-8 months to develop the mode, because most assets were already available. Further work is planned on the mode, to improve spawn points or balance.

What is the reaction? It varies. Among fans of Star Citizen (via reddit), the mode is generally received positively:
Many compare the gameplay to Battlefield or Planetside 2.
They believe that players could “train stress-free” in this mode without fear of consequences.
This is seen as a “side game” for relaxation and is mostly welcomed.
Outside the community, the mode is discussed more controversially (via reddit):
There are questions as to why Star Citizen has the time for such things. The work should rather be focused on the core game, the “spaceship simulation”.
Additionally, the shooter looks “clunky”.
There are concerns that it may be a “side game” that the developers will quickly lose interest in.
However, Star Citizen is credited for showing the gameplay “raw”, without exaggerating it.
A player’s YouTube video about the mode reflects this discrepancy. The video shows a montage of the presentation.
Players in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare have been complaining for quite some time about the game’s spawn system. It’s said to be really bad. Here you can see in two examples why the spawn system is so controversial: it leads to truly absurd deaths.
Many CoD players are currently upset about this: The spawn system in the new Modern Warfare 2019 is viewed critically by many. In the eyes of numerous players, the spawn system is really bad and is one of the biggest problems in the new CoD installment.
However, even though Modern Warfare is regularly updated with patches like the latest Update 1.09 and improvements, some of the most urgent issues have still not been resolved: this includes the desire for new maps or the elimination of numerous bugs, as well as addressing the acute spawn problem.
Weakness: Spawn System
What is the problem with the spawns? Many players believe the spawn system is simply bad – worse than in many previous CoD installments.
It happens excessively often that one spawns directly in front of an opponent’s gun – often for no apparent reason, despite the generous maps and the current player distribution that would offer many other possibilities.
Additionally, the spawn system sometimes responds slowly to the strategic distribution on the map, which often leads to what is called spawn camping. In this case, a team is pushed back into a spawn area for a while and is immediately slaughtered again after each appearance.
Also, the spawn points themselves are sometimes poorly chosen or chosen against all logic. Sometimes players spawn:
directly in the path of a tank
completely outside the playable area
in objects
or even in mid-air.
The community believes this should change as quickly as possible.
2 Clips Show Absurd Deaths from Spawns
These 2 clips show what is going wrong with Modern Warfare: Currently, 2 clips that represent the general spawn problem are generating a lot of discussion on Reddit and social media. They exemplify how bad the system is in Modern Warfare.
On one hand, there is a short video from Twitter user @scump, who spawns directly under the tracks of a tank after his death and immediately dies again.

On the other hand, there’s the video from Redditor McNugg2710, which received over 15,500 upvotes on Reddit within a day and garnered a lot of support. It also criticizes the spawn system after the player spawns mid-air, falls, and dies from fall damage – without being able to do anything about it.

Many say that such or similar situations occur more often in the new Modern Warfare. For some players, it is perhaps the most frustrating and foolish way to die. Because you die automatically – there is nothing you can do about it.
What do the developers say? In a tweet on October 29, it was mentioned that they see spawns as one of the current problems of CoD Modern Warfare.
However, there has been no direct response from the developers regarding these two clips so far. In general, it is currently being heavily criticized that Infinity Ward is avoiding the community’s most urgent questions – such as about the spawn system or the skill-based matchmaking (SBMM).
In the last update, keen players stumbled upon an internal note from the developers regarding the patch notes. This shows that they are at least aware that some urgent solutions do not really resonate with the player community.
What do you think of the spawn system in the new Modern Warfare? Is this something that needs to be addressed as soon as possible? Or are there problems in your opinion that need to be tackled more urgently?
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has a special system for legendary weapons. You can earn blueprints that grant you access to special weapons.
What are these blueprints? These blueprints give you access to special weapon versions that already come equipped with a unique mix of attachments and perks and have a distinct appearance. So you already have attachments and other items built into the weapon – even if you still need to earn them for the standard version of the gun.
What is the difference compared to regular weapons? This is how these weapons differ from the normal versions, as you can only obtain them in their base form and then expand them through their weapon ranks to unlock new attachments. The guns from the blueprints already have specific modifications and can be used even if you haven’t unlocked the base version of the weapon yet.
How to get the blueprints for legendary weapons
How do you obtain the blueprints? You need to be active in missions. There, you can receive a blueprint as a reward that gives you a fully equipped weapon.
Where can I find these missions? To see which tasks you need to complete for the blueprints, you can check the “Headquarters” menu and then look under “Multiplayer Challenges”. There you will find the Missions tab, where all 13 currently available missions for multiplayer are listed. The missions include a specific range of tasks to complete.
Note: You can select a mission and activate it. Keep in mind: You can only make progress in missions if you have activated them. Your previous achievements will not be retroactively counted towards this.
Only one mission can be active at a time. You must complete all the tasks of the mission before you receive the blueprint at the end.
How do I use the blueprints? You need to go to the Armory in the weapon menu. There you will see all the guns you have earned through blueprints. If a blueprint is unlocked or available, you can easily activate it for one of your loadouts.
Additionally, you can view the blueprint weapons in the Armory and see which perks and attachments they already come with.
Where can I equip the new weapon? Once a blueprint is activated, you can select it at the corresponding base version of the weapon in the class editor and then use that weapon in the next match.
Go to the multiplayer menu of the game, select weapons, then edit equipment, and choose the loadout with which you want to use the weapon.
Navigate to the corresponding base version of the weapon for which you have unlocked the special blueprint. To the right of the weapon tab, you will see an Armory symbol with a number. Through this tab, you can activate the alternative version of the weapon for this loadout.
The number indicates how many blueprints for this base version of the weapon you have unlocked.
That’s why you should use blueprints: Blueprints are incredibly useful because they give you a fully finished weapon right away, which looks really cool and has numerous attachments already unlocked. So you don’t have to grind through leveling your weapon ranks to get good attachments; you have a (usually) good weapon readily available.
Which weapons you should definitely try can be found here:
More and more people are interested in eSports and earning a living from gaming. But not all games are created equal, and not every game is worth it. We show you which games offer the biggest payouts.
What kind of games are these? In our list, you will find games that have previously paid out the largest amounts. It doesn’t matter if it’s a shooter, MOBA, or strategy game. Many genres are represented, but only competitive games yield the highest profits.
How do I make money with games? To earn money as a pro gamer, you need to be one of the best players. This requires training and often a good team.
What is Dota 2? Dota 2 is the spiritual successor of the Warcraft 3 mod Defense of the Ancients. It is a MOBA where teams of five players compete against each other on a map with 3 lanes.
The objective is to destroy the opposing team’s main building (Ancient). Teams gain experience and gold, learn abilities, and purchase items.
What tournaments are there? Most Dota 2 tournaments take place offline. Very few games with prize pools are held online. To participate, players must be willing to travel to tournaments and potentially train offline with their team.
Individual tournaments occur less frequently, and the annual Internationals offer the largest rewards. In 2019, the prize pool for the Internationals was 34.3 million $.
The earnings for top players in Dota 2:
Name
Earnings (2019)
Total Earnings
Johan “N0tail” Sundstein
3.15 million $
6.89 million $
Jesse “JerAx” Vainikka
3.16 million $
6.47 million $
Anathan “ana” Pham
3.14 million $
6 million $
How hard is it/Who is it suitable for? Dota 2 is considered one of the most demanding games. The entry is already difficult, and countless heroes, abilities, and mechanics, as well as their counters, must be learned. Additionally, it requires a high mechanical skill for farming to be stronger than the opponent.
Matches often last 40 minutes or longer, making them quite exhausting. Those considering starting Dota 2 should bring a lot of patience and determination.

What is CS:GO? CS:GO is the latest installment in the popular Counter-Strike series. Counter-Strike is one of the most famous, possibly even the most famous shooter games.
Players face off in 5 player teams, terrorists against anti-terror units. The objective is to plant or defuse a bomb.
CS:GO has a total prize pool of 85.6 million $, placing it just ahead of rank 3. The top player with the highest earnings is still below the professionals in many other games. However, there are so many professionals among the top earners that this income alone surpasses that of others.
What tournaments are there? Like Dota 2, most tournaments for CS:GO also take place offline. However, the prize pools are significantly smaller here.
What defines tournaments in CS:GO is that they occur much more frequently. There are many tournaments that each offer a prize pool of several hundred thousand to millions of dollars.
Here, you can count on winning smaller prizes more often rather than risking your luck in a big way and failing. CS:GO is a “safer” bet.
How hard is it/Who is it suitable for? Counter-Strike requires stronger mechanical skills and reaction times compared to Dota 2, but it is also slightly easier to learn. There is less to consider, and the selection of weapons, equipment, and strategies is more manageable.
Anyone choosing CS:GO as a profession should prepare to frequently train their reflexes and search for ideal settings for graphics, UI, and mouse speed.

What is Fortnite? Fortnite is the colorful battle royale game from Epic. It follows in the footsteps of genre giants PUBG and DayZ but combines classic BR with clever building elements.
In Fortnite, players compete alone or in teams in a 100-player battle, searching for weapons and gear while trying to be the last one standing in the ever-shrinking area of the map.
Fortnite has paid out over 84 million $ in prize money so far.
What tournaments are there? In Fortnite, a little over half of the total prize money is awarded in online tournaments. The most expensive event to date was the Fortnite World Cup 2019, with a prize pool of over 15 million $ in the solo and duo categories.
Even in online tournaments like the Champion Series, prize money of 480,000 $ (over a million in the pool) is available.
How hard is it/Who is it suitable for? Similar to CS:GO, Fortnite demands mechanical skills along with good situational awareness. You need to keep an eye on where opponents are, as the map size is significantly larger compared to Counter-Strike.
In addition to shooting skills, you need good abilities in fast building. However, as Fortnite is a relatively young eSport, entry might be a bit easier.

What is League of Legends?League of Legends, or LoL for short, is similar to Dota 2, a MOBA and a spiritual successor to DotA. The studio Riot, now owned by Tencent, has put its own stamp on the game.
In LoL, you compete with various champions in teams of three or five players against other teams. The standard mode is 5vs5 on a 3-lane map. Like in Dota 2, you need to farm gold, defeat opponents, and destroy the enemy’s core.
LoL has paid out a total of 73 million $ in prize money so far.
What tournaments are there? Like most top eSports titles, the largest prizes in LoL come from offline tournaments. The annual World Championships, for example, feature prize pools between 2 and 6.45 million $.
How hard is it/Who is it suitable for? Generally, the skills required for League of Legends are similar to those needed for Dota 2. However, the game itself is somewhat easier to learn because there are fewer mechanics, such as no courier mechanics.
The entry into the game is slightly easier due to a somewhat lighter farm phase, and matches typically do not last as long as in Dota 2.
The strongest players in League of Legends, however, come from Korea and China. Unlike the previous games, there is no Western nation among the top 3 nationalities of professionals. Therefore, entering the eSports might be difficult due to a lack of good teams.

Rank 5: Starcraft 2
What is Starcraft 2? The last place in our top 5 is held by the strategy game Starcraft 2. The successor to the strategy hit Starcraft comes from Blizzard and belongs to the genre of real-time strategy.
In Starcraft 2, you choose one of three possible races and typically battle your opponents in eSports in a 1vs1 format. You build bases at a rapid speed, train units, and lead them into battle.
The prize pool for Starcraft 2 has been 32 million $ so far.
What tournaments are there? Starcraft 2 also relies on offline tournaments. Only about one-eighth of the prize money is awarded online.
The largest and most important tournaments are the World Championships, whose finals are held annually at BlizzCon.
How hard is it/Who is it suitable for? To be good at Starcraft 2, you must master two things: micro and macro management. You must simultaneously build your base, plan expansions, and keep track of your own and the opponent’s troops.
Additionally, there are extremely high requirements for your possible actions per minute (APM). You should be able to give as many (correct) commands in a short time as possible.
However, unlike all other games on our list, Starcraft 2 offers the advantage that you can win alone. You don’t play in a team but in a 1vs1 format. Therefore, victory and defeat depend solely on you.

I don’t like any of these games – what else is there?
Other games where you can still make money: If none of these games appeal to you, there are other games where you can earn money. However, prize pools here are usually not as high or as accessible as in the top 5:
This is the alternative to eSports: If you want to make money from gaming, you don’t necessarily have to become a pro. There are also possibilities to stream. Streamers can not only impress with good gameplay but also with personality. The advantage:
You can play whatever you want
You play from home
No obligations to teams
However, as a streamer, you are self-employed and generally do not earn the salary of an eSports professional. However, anyone can easily start and try it out:
The buff from Season 19 in Diablo 3 stacks up to 1,000. The “bonus” that then appears is nasty and deadly. See here what happens at 1,000 stacks.
What kind of buff is this? Season 19 has been running in Diablo 3 since Friday, November 22. All players participating start at level 1 and are accompanied by a buff throughout the entire leveling process up to level 70 – a buff that works in combination with killstreaks.
If you achieve a kill streak with 15 enemies, exploding chickens appear to help you. If you reach a kill streak of 100 enemies, massive energy whirlwinds appear that deal a lot of damage to your opponents. You can see all bonuses of the Season Buff S19 here.
What happens at 1,000 stacks of the buff was kept secret by Blizzard. Players were meant to find out for themselves. And they have now done that – at the cost of their digital lives.
1,000 Stacks of the Season Buff in Season 19 – Video
This is what happened: Reaching 1,000 stacks is laborious and takes a while. However, players have now managed to film what happens at this milestone. A form of Diablo himself is summoned. And he is incredibly nasty.
In the YouTube video from the channel PlayCgame, you can see what the encounter looks like on Torment 16.

First, a huge pentagram appears, then Diablo spawns in its center. He deals quite a bit of damage and quickly takes down the players in the linked video. On Reddit, it says “Basically, he knocks everything down with one hit.”.
The opponent is this strong: Additionally, the summoned Diablo can withstand a lot of damage. Under his health bar, you can read:
Physical Resistance
Fire Resistance
Lightning Resistance
Cold Resistance
Poison Resistance
Arcane Resistance
Holy Damage Resistance
It is visibly difficult to inflict damage on this being and take him down. At about 4 minutes and 40 seconds into the embedded video, Diablo then falls.
What loot is there? The creator of the video writes on Reddit that this Diablo on Torment 16 dropped the following items:
4 keys for Greater Nephalem Rifts
A few materials (no Breath of Death)
An Infernal Machine from each Act
Be careful: Anyone who is not prepared for this encounter should let the stacks drop below 1,000. Because Diablo is immensely powerful. Whether Blizzard intended this strength is unclear. But he has already torn apart hardcore players in one hit.
On Twitter, user Zelse007 writes that he summoned a Diablo through the 1,000 stacks in his hardcore game and killed him.
The maps not only look pretty but also offer a lot of content. This includes collectibles, like magical sprouts that you can only find by looking closely. I haven’t figured out what exactly happens when you find them all, but the description in the logbook sounded like a reward.
Monsters on the maps leave behind certain usable items that gradually unlock new background information about the world and important characters. So if you are interested in the lore, it is always worth going back to old areas and farming for such items.
The only thing that held me back from systematically crawling through the maps was the urge to level up quickly and get new gear.
My highlight in exploration: What I liked most were the mini-bosses and world events that can be found on the maps. The mini-bosses appear quite frequently and have special abilities compared to their normal counterparts.
Here one of these elite enemies is trying to slow me down with an aura (Spoiler: He was unsuccessful)
They are comparable to the elite enemies from Diablo 3. Some can slow you down, others can poison you or summon explosions. However, they all drop good loot, and it’s really fun to scour the maps for such mini-bosses.
Then there are also big bosses that appear during random (?) events on the maps. So far, I have only seen one such boss, but he was tough. About 20 players were pounding on him, and it took a while before he was dead.
In the end, there was a real piñata full of loot and the cool feeling that you just took down a real big chunk.
This is how NPC relationships work: This is another system that turned out to be surprisingly cool. In Lost Ark, you can build relationships with various NPCs:
You talk to them,
give them advice and gifts,
do emotes,
complete their quests
and play music for them.
This increases your relationship status with them and gives you background info about who they are and how their story progresses, alongside rewards. The first quest line for an NPC was very simple, but also quite funny.
During the main quest, I met the owner of a large inn. The business lady and powerhouse wanted to learn how to cook properly. Things went as wrong as you might imagine, but it gave me some good laughs.
The food may smell good, but my character fainted right after the first bite.
On one hand, it’s due to the good Russian localization; on the other hand, the quest was fully synchronized. This gave it a special charm, and the actual fetch quest didn’t feel like one in the end.
Interestingly, during the conversation, you often had the option to choose between multiple response options, and the NPCs always reacted differently.
Since then, I try to visit as many NPCs as possible in cities and settlements to see if any of them belong to these relationship NPCs. This is also because the first Korean players during the open beta in 2018 said that this system is well implemented.
There were also many smaller things that I found really well done:
Character creator is very detailed and beautiful. Even here, Lost Ark shines, despite its age.
The story quests provide a good red thread that gradually unlocks various features.
The Russian localization is really well done. The language is authentic, the translation is solid, and the voice actors sound good.
Some story quests contain instanced solo battles, which are well staged and spawn a lot of enemies you can hack through.
Enemy design is very cool, even at lower levels. Lost Ark offers many different types of monsters, all of which look very creative.
There are treasure maps leading to small hidden solo dungeons. Often at the end, there is a boss and plenty of loot.
Dungeons are quite funny and have many little gimmicks, but so far, they have always been quite short.
Of course, not everything in Lost Ark was joy and sunshine. Several times I was quite annoyed, and at other points, I was disappointed. Here are some aspects that stood out.
The quality of the story
What was the problem with the origin story? The quality of the story initially depends heavily on which class you start with. I was unlucky to choose the mage, whose origin story is really poorly done.
Even though I speak Russian fluently, it was hard to understand what the heck is going on in this game. You are thrown straight into the action without an introduction.
Some demons with a queen I allegedly need to know about, separation between the worlds that has now been broken. A busty woman who doesn’t explain who she is or where she sends me.
Look, he’s wearing black and red, so he must be evil.
The NPCs are almost all faceless and characterless at first. They had no distinguishing traits. None of them had any relevance to the main story so far. The lack of background information about the NPCs made it seem like they were designed to be “throwaway characters”.
In stark contrast stood the origin story of the hunter. It revolves around an NPC who is your partner and behaves like one. He cares about you, cracks stupid jokes, and feels very human and lovable.
While there is also little information here, it’s not necessary because the story is carried by the characters. If I had started with the hunter, I wouldn’t have had to be annoyed for 2-3 hours about the mage story.
And what about the main story? The first interesting characters and elements of the main story appeared around level 13-15. It’s also about that level range when the game starts to tell you more about the world. How it works, what its history is, and why players are actually searching for this Ark that gave the MMORPG its name.
I was amazed at how much better the origin story of the hunter was. Fabian is the coolest.
I was actually happy to listen and let the lore wash over me. However, the beginning presents you with a very simplistic fantasy setting: “You – good. The demons – evil. Now go and kill something.”
When Lost Ark had its soft launch in Korea, players reported that certain quest lines became really cool around level 30. And now that the story is gaining momentum, I hope my expectations will be met.
The amount of side quests
This was the problem with the side quests: I never thought I would be thirsting for fetch and side quests in an MMORPG. MMORPG players are used to facing a forest of exclamation marks when entering a new zone. Especially at the beginning, side quests help with leveling and are also a source for new equipment.
Lost Ark, on the other hand, is really stingy when it comes to side quests. In the first large city you enter, you receive about 5 side quests. And some of them must first be unlocked.
Great, a fetch quest!
On higher levels, it didn’t get better; per map there were only a handful of side quests, if any. I felt like I was on withdrawal.
However, one must also say that they are not actually that necessary from a gameplay perspective in Lost Ark. Enemies give quite a lot of EXP, and you get armor through drops.
For me, the main reason for side quests was more the desire to learn more about the game world and lore. While that is slowly ramping up, I would love to see more.
At the beginning, there is really little equipment and also no shops where you could buy it. The gear spiral only gains momentum after a few levels.
The enemy density could be higher. Both in the open world and in dungeons.
As you can see, the negative points have the potential to improve at higher levels or are purely a matter of taste. I can well imagine that some of you will be glad to not have to do any silly fetch quests.
Now I want even more for it to come to Europe
At first, it was hard for me to pinpoint exactly why Lost Ark pulled me in. As mentioned above, it’s not a groundbreaking innovative game. Most features have been seen in other games before.
But the way Lost Ark implements and utilizes those features is impressive. The mixture is cohesive, and the successful loot spiral makes you crave more.
I didn’t know which elements of the game to check out first. Everything looked good and was fun.
When I worked on my hunter, I accidentally created Tom Cruise.
It is also by far one of the best polished MMORPGs I have played:
I didn’t encounter any bugs or other problems,
no stuttering or pop-ins,
the graphics still look nice for such an old game,
and the textures remain sharp even when zoomed in.
Even though I couldn’t test all the features of Lost Ark, I definitely want more. There is hope that the MMORPG will eventually make it to us in Europe.
How necessary the boost items will be in the endgame is still hard to say for me. But the beginning was at least a pleasant surprise.
Gameplay is just as expected
This is how Lost Ark plays: I started with the Arcana, as promised. The melee mage plays exactly as I expected her to. She is fast and fun, but you have to time her attacks well because as a cloth user, she takes a beating if you’re not careful.
The abilities feel good and have a lot of impact, even for mage classes. It’s really satisfying to debuff a horde of enemies with cards, then stun them and finally launch them all into the air with a finisher move.
My Arcana. Yes, red hair is awesome.
You also have the option to customize your abilities as you level up. Every level-up gives you 5 points to distribute among the active skills. This unlocks augmentations like:
Higher crit chance
Shorter cooldown
Higher range
More damage
Stronger shields
Longer stun effect
And many more. Unfortunately, I haven’t progressed far in the skill list because with increasing levels, more points are needed for unlocking.
The list of passive abilities and augmentations gives the impression that a class can indeed have a wide variety of skill builds. Especially since the stats are very versatile and you can boost them through the armors.
The list of skills that I can currently use on the Arcana. The passive skill with the potion icon would reduce my mana costs, for example, by 50%.
Loot spiral serves its purpose
This is how equipment works in Lost Ark: I played for quite a while without being able to pinpoint exactly what kept me engaged in the game. Although the combat system is fun, it was the loot spiral that sucked me right in.
Equipment is mostly obtained from enemies or quests. There are no surprises here either: each piece of armor has an item level. Higher item level = better stats. The stats seem to be mostly randomly generated.
The game conveniently shows how different the equipment items are. Their rolls are random, and they can have really many different stats.
NPC shops are scarce, and to buy anything there, you have to sell your liver, kidney, and a lung first. Then you might have enough money for a shoe.
But I must say that it makes it more enjoyable this way. At least at the beginning, you are not dependent on grinding money to be able to afford new stuff. The drop rates from the enemies on the map are quite high and seem to increase as you level up.
That’s why I couldn’t stop: After several hours of playing, I suddenly realized that I had run away from the main quest of the game. The loot spiral continuously led me into areas where tougher enemies dropped better stuff. They also left behind special currency that you could exchange for new armor. There was continuously more loot.
Mini-bosses often leave behind small mountains of loot after their death.
The whole process was so fluid and natural that I completely forgot everything else in the game for some time. So it served its purpose well.
My hope here is that both the combat system and the loot spiral remain fun at higher levels and in the endgame.
The little things make a big difference
This is why exploring the maps was so much fun: Interestingly, it was the many small things on the map that contributed a significant part to my enjoyment of the game. There are a lot of maps, and they look nice.
You might think that the isometric perspective gives developers options to cut corners: save development time here and there and not design the assets beautifully and in detail, since no one notices from a distance anyway.
In some areas, I first stopped and took some screenshots.
But that is not the case. The world of Lost Ark is very beautiful and diverse. The textures are sharp, and the colors are saturated. This actually surprised me, considering that Lost Ark has been in development for over 5 years and is technically an older game.
I want to spend more time with NPCs in this game
Things I didn’t like
Of course, not everything in Lost Ark was joy and sunshine.
Other things I thought were bad included:
Gender-lock: Give me my female demon hunter!

Things I didn’t like
Of course, not everything in Lost Ark was joy and sunshine.
Other things I thought were bad included:
Gender-lock: Give me my female demon hunter!
I want to spend more time with NPCs in this game

I want to spend more time with NPCs in this game
Things I didn’t like
Of course, not everything in Lost Ark was joy and sunshine.
Other things I thought were bad included:
Gender-lock: Give me my female demon hunter!
Our author Irie was able to preview the Korean MMORPG Lost Ark . The game delivers what it promises, but also has areas for improvement.
What is Lost Ark? Lost Ark is a Korean free-to-play MMORPG from an isometric perspective. Gameplay-wise, it can be most compared to Diablo 3, but with many additional features typical of MMORPGs:
Learning gathering professions
Dungeons and raids
Open-world bosses
PvP with and without rankings
Housing
The setting is high fantasy with elves and demons, mixed with strong elements of steampunk. It also offers 4 base classes, which split into three specializations starting at level 10.

It has long been known that Lost Ark is not particularly groundbreaking in terms of gameplay. It doesn’t reinvent the wheel but, according to players, delivers a really solid and fun MMORPG experience.
This statement accurately describes Lost Ark. It is a thoroughly polished MMORPG that combines many different features of the genre.
What I liked about Lost Ark
Lost Ark recently entered open beta in Russia, and since I speak fluent Russian, I took the opportunity to take a closer look at the MMORPG. Here are the aspects that I found positive at first.
Real money shop? What real money shop?
What about the shop? Lost Ark is known to be a Korean free-to-play game. Accordingly, Western players have repeatedly worried that it might not become pay-to-win to finance itself.
The first thing I immediately noticed positively was the complete absence of the usual “HERE YOU CAN SPEND MONEY!” pop-ups, which frequently occur in free-to-play MMORPGs. In fact, I only accidentally found the real money shop after several hours of gameplay when I pressed the wrong key.
These are all “support items” that mostly accelerate your progress
The shop in Lost Ark is very pleasantly unobtrusive. While in other F2P MMORPGs I often faced “Limited Time” offers for cosmetics and boost items upon logging in, Lost Ark holds back on that.
The MMORPG is published in Russia by Mail.ru, which has a certain reputation for strong monetization of content in the gaming community. Yet, I haven’t noticed this in Lost Ark so far, which is a pleasant development and gives hope for the Western release.
You will find in the real money shop: The offerings in the shop are surprisingly minimal. Especially for cosmetics, I was amazed at how few there were. Two costumes per class, a handful of mounts, and that’s practically it.
These are the only cosmetics in the real money shop. However, there are definitely more in the Korean version, and more will likely come.
The bulk of the shop consists of boost and consumable items that can accelerate your progress. However, at no point during my playtime did I run into a wall that forced me to grind where these items would have been enticing or even necessary.
Quite the opposite; if I did grind, it was voluntary because I wanted something badly. Progress in the game was not influenced by this, and I found that really cool.
And what about the main story? The first interesting characters and elements of the main story appeared around level 13-15. It’s also about that level range when the game starts to tell you more about the world. How it works, what its history is, and why players are actually searching for this Ark that gave the MMORPG its name.

I want to spend more time with NPCs in this game
Things I didn’t like
Of course, not everything in Lost Ark was joy and sunshine.
Other things I thought were bad included:
Gender-lock: Give me my female demon hunter!
