When I tell someone that I’m having fun grinding, I get strange looks. Grinding is usually considered exhausting, time-consuming, and unnecessary. I myself had trouble with grinding for a long time, especially when there weren’t even real tasks to do, but just mindlessly killing mobs.
That has changed in recent months. It may well be due to the fact that it was winter, you were constantly restricted due to the pandemic, and there simply is a lack of exciting new MMORPGs, but grinding has turned into a kind of outlet for me.
Nowadays, I manage to completely relax while doing it and also to let go of the frustrations of everyday life. Grinding surprisingly does me good, and in this article, I want to give you a little insight into why that is.
What is grind anyway? Grinding refers in MMORPGs to a laborious but mindless activity in which one often completes the same task repeatedly. The most well-known examples are killing the same mobs over and over again, without completing quests or otherwise engaging in activities. Nevertheless, cheating in Pokémon GO is relatively easy. When a player reports a cheater, Niantic usually does not react at all.
Where do fair players now have disadvantages due to cheaters? There are only a few points in Pokémon GO where players compete directly with each other. One case is, for example, the gyms. If one wants to take them, one must kick other players from the opposing team out of the gym. This often leads to real battles over gyms with cheaters. A fair player takes a gym and is on their way to the next. At the same time, the cheater has already taken back the first gym and jumps quickly to the second gym.
There are reports in various forums that Spoofers terrorize entire cities. They simply hold all the gyms in the city, and if a fair player takes one, they are kicked out again a few minutes later.
Another encounter of players occurs in the PvP mode. There, one randomly competes against other players from all over the world. If a fair player is unlucky, they may encounter a cheater who has cheated their perfect team and leaves them with no chance.
Especially with the introduction of level 50, the advantage of cheaters has increased. Some good Pokémon in the PvP league are incredibly rare in Pokémon GO. If one levels them to level 50, they become even stronger and would defeat the same Pokémon at level 40. As a fair player, it is challenging to get the XL candies of rare Pokémon so that one can push themselves to level 50. As a cheater, one jumps from Pokémon to Pokémon and quickly gets the necessary XL candies. In battles, the player who has the Pokémon at level 50 wins.
It should be noted: Only in a few situations do cheaters negatively affect fair players. In raids, they fight together, so fair players are not disadvantaged. When catching Pokémon, each trainer is on their own – other trainers play no role.
So if one does not like to fight in PvP and easily earns their coins through gym battles, they might face little disadvantage compared to cheaters.

The supply of hardware, especially graphics cards, has been low for months. AMD recently sold a limited edition of the RX 6800 XT. But before most “real” buyers had a chance, it was sold out.
This is what happened: Hardware manufacturer AMD informed members of the “AMD Red Team” that they would be selling a limited edition of the RX 6800 XT starting April 7 at around 3 PM. With the email announcing the graphics card, they wanted to inform interested parties in advance.
However, a targeted protection against scalpers, who could snatch the cards from potential honest buyers, was lacking.
Gamers are disappointed about this
Here was the problem: The announcement of the “Midnight Black Edition” of the AMD RX 6800 XT graphics card was made via email to the AMD Red Team. Anyone who wants to become a member can register on the website (via amd.com/de).
AMD writes about the Red Team: “Subscribe to the AMD Red Team Newsletter to receive exclusive content on AMD product launches, the hottest new games, and community events you shouldn’t miss.”
The special edition of the graphics card only changes visually. The technology that lies underneath remains the same.
AMD then offered the “Midnight Black” edition of the RX 6800 XT for sale on the same website that bots, scalpers, and everyone else already know. In the shop section of the AMD website.
This means that bots, which are already keeping a close eye on this page, could directly see the new product and jump on it.
In the email, there was a link that was supposed to lead to the sales page. Apparently to make it easier for the Red Team members to find the card. However, users report that this link did not work. Many could not secure a card. User @Bounty_V shared a screenshot on Twitter and wrote: “That sums up the experience. The Red Team link led to a page where you could not buy. I only saw it through the main store and adding to the cart didn’t work. Cool. I feel very included in this exclusive offer.”

What could have been done differently? The Verge (via theverge.com) also addresses the issue and wonders why they don’t cater to the fans in the buying process when they are already announcing it for the Team Red members. Suggestions include
verifying the email addresses of buyers
sending unique passwords to interested parties via a preliminary email
or a raffle among the members
These measures might have given interested users a better chance of securing one of the popular graphics cards.

How expensive the cards are now being resold
Here are the prices: On the AMD website, the card was offered at the usual price of $649. In the meantime, some of the limited editions can already be found on eBay again. As you might guess, the prices there are skyrocketing.
Sellers are asking on eBay for sometimes three times what they originally paid for the cards.
Graphics cards are currently in high demand. Prices are soaring due to the low supply, and even smugglers have realized that they can make a lot of money from this.
