Chribba: I landed in New Eden purely by luck. I was a big fan of David Braben’s Elite II and First Encounters and saw an article about EVE in 2003. I thought it looked very similar to those games, so I decided to give it a try and instantly became addicted.
The main reason I have kept playing all these years is the community and that I didn’t feel pressured to do anything I didn’t want to do through solo play. This created a good balance between real life and the game.
MeinMMO: Why are you known as “the most honest player” in EVE?
Chribba: Over the years, I helped facilitate high-value transactions in the game, so people have trusted me in an otherwise fraud-friendly universe. If you wanted to buy or sell a titan or super carrier safely, I was the person who could help you – for a fee, of course.
Later, I started helping friends with some high-profile transactions as a broker. Motherships and titans could not be traded in stations back then and had to change ownership out in open space.
As my name became known in the community as a helpful person thanks to my websites like EVE-Files (File Hosting Service) or EVE-Offline (Player monitoring), I had already made a small name for myself as “a nice guy”, and this developed into a full-fledged brokerage business. My reputation grew as more and more pilots entrusted me with their broker services to avoid being scammed or falling into traps.
As my brokering grew, it became a sort of feedback loop where I made more money by being honest than I could have ever made by scamming. So, there would be no point in scamming someone, as that would immediately end all transactions. Honesty also ensured that the money kept flowing.
Large ships like titans or super carriers cost huge amounts of money in EVE. It often takes players years to gather enough resources for them and to learn the necessary skills. The deals involving such ships are therefore extremely risky. The chances of being deceived or robbed are often very high. Chribba offered both parties the security that they would not be taken advantage of with his services.

The Community of EVE and Its Reputation
MeinMMO: For many gamers, the EVE community has a reputation for being cunning, toxic, and generally unfriendly toward new players. What of this do you think is true and what is false?
Chribba: In my opinion, most of that is true, but only for outsiders. The community may appear toxic and unwelcoming from the outside, but in reality, it is not. The threshold to get in is just a bit higher than in other games.
The community betrays, mocks, and destroys almost anything a pilot can have. But I also think that’s what sets EVE apart and makes it interesting. I see much worse toxicity daily in other games than in EVE.
I also feel that what happens in the game stays in the game, and everyone knows it is part of EVE. At player meetups in real life, I’ve seen sworn enemies hug and laugh over drinks about past disputes in the game while they plot together how to destroy the next victim in the game.
So you were scammed and are now upset? But you can always make elaborate revenge schemes and go down in history. That’s the beauty of it, which many outsiders may not see or understand.
MeinMMO: As someone who has given a lot to the EVE community, have you also received something back as a thank you?
Chribba: The love of the community is enough for me, so I receive something back every time I log in.
I don’t particularly enjoy being the center of attention, but it honors me. I am very happy about all the nice people out there, from the small thank yous in the game to those who want selfies in real life.
It is all thanks to the community that I have been able to create my legacy. I am satisfied with what I have done, and that is enough for me. Also, the monument that CCP erected for me in the game is really something I could only have dreamed of, and I believe it would not have been possible without the community (and of course the great developers at CCP).

MeinMMO: What is your favorite story or the best deal you facilitated in EVE that was particularly exciting?
Chribba: I am sure that there are many more stories locked in my memory that I cannot recall, but I am particularly fond of a “fake” supercarrier trade that was requested by Pandemic Legion. It ended with me being killed and thrown into space.
The fact that they took the time and effort to trick me and then hearing the excitement of their fleet members when the trap snapped shut makes for a great experience, despite the loss of my ship and clone.
I see that as a great example of player ingenuity and their ability to create their own story. Furthermore, they were kind enough to ask me if I would be willing to facilitate the trade with my own corpse, after they had graciously given me the option to buy them if I wanted to.
In EVE Online, players can own clones in addition to their current body. If a player dies somewhere in space and their escape pod is destroyed, the “Medical Clone” is activated, which has no implants or upgrades. These are destroyed in the pod. So if you don’t want to lose your implants, you have to try to get your escape pod to safety.
MeinMMO: You have played EVE for many years. How have the game and the players changed during that time? What has stayed the same as before?
Chribba: I feel that the general mindset in the community has largely remained the same. I am very grateful for that, as I think at its core that is also what makes EVE so appealing. It is a ruthless game, but the rewards a player can achieve are simply on a completely different level.
I do think (and this is probably a general thing in life) that newer players today are not as patient as veterans. And unfortunately, this is also reflected in the business model that CCP has had to introduce over time (especially through the purchase of skill points and skins).
But I cannot say that I miss setting an alarm for 3 am to switch skills, just because we didn’t have a skill queue back then.

MeinMMO: In an earlier interview with PCGamer, you mentioned that your broker business was rendered obsolete by an update from the developers. How has it affected your gaming career in EVE?
Chribba: In a positive way. Depending on how you look at it, the introduction of citadels basically killed the entire brokering business overnight. Due to my real-life circumstances, my investment in playing was already affected, so the introduction of citadels relieved some pressure from me, which is a good thing.
There are still a few brokerages, but they are minimal and primarily relate to trading citadels themselves. They are basically almost nonexistent now, so I now mostly mine materials to relax and have some good conversations with other players.
I feel that I am now fully dedicated to pure “Ship Spinning.” As a solo player, I also don’t have as many goals in mind, so I can take each tiny bit at my own pace. Plus, it’s always nice to reminisce and share stories with new players who may not know me.
Ship Spinning, better known as Station Spinning: An activity in EVE where a player is docked at a station and manually or automatically rotates the camera around their ship. This usually happens when the player is just chatting or waiting for a fleet. In an update, the developers added a counter that appears at the bottom of the screen when rotating the camera more than ten times in one direction around the ship.

MeinMMO: What tips would you give to people who are generally interested in EVE but are hesitant to start (like me for example)?
Chribba: I think the best advice I can give to newcomers is to take your time and be ready to invest time. Casual gameplay is certainly possible, but the rewards are low. A greater time investment will open up a truly unique experience that distinguishes EVE from most other games.
Be prepared to lose your ships and items. It’s a part of shaping your gaming experience. But just because you’ve lost everything doesn’t mean you can’t get back at someone and plunder all their high-end modules. So fly nothing you can’t afford to lose.
For newcomers who feel overwhelmed (due to the sheer complexity you can experience), EVE also has one of the best communities out there to help you. For instance, you can join the player-run EVE University (which just celebrated its 17th birthday). The players there will teach you everything you need to know until you decide to venture out on your own or perhaps even become a teacher yourself.
And last but not least, and most importantly, trust no one except me, of course!

Although things can get intense there and players engage in massive wars against each other, the head of the MMORPG believes that EVE has a positive impact on its players:
A new update on April 6 has weakened the best weapons in Call of Duty: Warzone again – FFAR and AUG receive a nerf. MeinMMO provides you with information about the weakening, alternatives, and what effects to expect on the Warzone meta.
What’s going on? On April 6, there was a small update for Call of Duty: Warzone, adjusting the strong weapons that have dominated the Battle Royale for some time:
Battle Rifle AUG now returns to “centering” position slower after a shot
Assault Rifle FFAR 1 now has less ADS speed

AUG now noticeably less stable – If you fire quickly
How was the AUG nerfed? Damage, shot behavior, and the spread of burst shots remained unchanged. However, something has changed between burst shots that can still increase the time-to-kill (TTK) of the weapon: the re-centering speed.
After firing a burst from the AUG, it now takes significantly longer for the weapon to return to its starting position. As a result, you have to correct much more, and it is noticeably more difficult to keep the weapons stable in succession when firing quickly. Another option is to wait longer between bursts until the weapon is re-centered – but that increases the TTK.
The Warzone expert “TheXclusiveAce” compared the recoil behavior before and after the patch:

Is the weapon still top-tier? The recoil behavior of the AUG remains very vertical, but the difference is clearly noticeable. At medium and long range, the battle rifle is now significantly worse. Currently, the weapon is falling a bit behind. This is less about it being completely unusable, but rather due to a competitor: M16.
What should I do now? Leave the AUG in the closet for now, but stick with the 3-shot battle rifles. It is very likely that the M16 will take over the AUG’s tasks 1 to 1 until the next nerf wave:
M16 can also kill with 3 bursts
It only takes 2 bursts if a headshot hits
The TTK is hardly noticeably higher than with the AUG
The M16 is still more stable than the AUG before the patch
However, a nerf is also expected for the M16. Currently, the battle rifle is by far the best alternative to the nerfed AUG. As a setup, you can follow the usual path via a range setup for the M16 or try something more mobile, with strong values at the time to aim (recommendation by TrueGameData via YouTube):

Ammunition: 45 rounds

FFAR now significantly slower – But still strong
How was the FFAR nerfed? The base ADS time was increased by nearly 20% – from about 250 ms to nearly 300 ms. You now need 50 milliseconds longer to aim with the weapon without attachments.
Is the weapon still top-tier? It’s hard to say with the FFAR so shortly after the patch. The assault rifle remains a strong competitor against all submachine guns due to its outstanding TTK and the range of its first damage tier of nearly 40 meters – no SMG can match its range and damage. However, the weapon is now slower, which is noticeable in gunfights with the fast SMGs.
What should I do now? Adjust your setup a bit so that you have fewer drawbacks with your ADS time. This way you can continue to benefit from the strong TTK and have good chances against SMGs.
However, it will be interesting to see if the assault rifle can continue to hold its ground against submachine guns. Alternatively, you might want to go for the Groza assault rifle or go back to the best submachine guns in Warzone.
If you want to keep trying with the FFAR, the Warzone YouTuber TrueGameData recommends the following SMG build for the FFAR (via YouTube):

Burst weapons remain in the meta / FFAR uncertain
How do the latest changes affect the meta? According to experts on YouTube (TrueGameData / JGOD / XclusiveAce), only the weapon in the range meta will change – instead of the AUG, it is likely that the M16 will reign. The three are in agreement on this and foresee only a slight adjustment to the meta.
In the case of the FFAR and the SMG competition, the situation is different. While the weapon remains strong with the setup proposed here, as with the last nerf, the assault rifle loses important value advantages, and soon only the strong TTK will remain as an argument for the FFAR. However, if aiming takes a long time and the weapon is yet hard to control, the era of the FFAR will end. Whether this point has already been reached, the following days will show.
The loot shooter Outriders has received a new update. The update is supposed to fix connection issues in coop sessions, but only on Xbox. Those who hope to play better with friends should think carefully about it.
What kind of update is this? On Tuesday evening, April 6, the developers released some adjustments to the backend of Outriders. These are meant to improve the “multiplayer experience” on Xbox (via Twitter).
However, the developers advise disabling crossplay. Currently, it only works between consoles anyway, but could still lead to issues. So those wanting to play with friends on PlayStation might still encounter problems.
What was the problem? Xbox players had connection issues to coop lobbies before the update. Apparently, there were long wait times for matchmaking and players could not reliably connect to others.
The problem is supposed to be fixed now – but you should still be cautious if you want to play Outriders in coop right now.
Bug steals loot – Coop might be to blame
Why should I not play in coop? Currently, there is a nasty bug in Outriders that is stealing all the loot and even equipped gear from players. Affected players lose their entire inventory and end up naked.
Where exactly the problem comes from and how it can be fixed has not yet been determined. However, more and more players report that the bug only appears when they want to join a coop lobby.
Apparently, the error is related to joining another game. One player reported that he joined a coop lobby and then was kicked (via reddit). Subsequently, he experienced a crash when he wanted to join a new lobby and lost his inventory in the process.
What is actually happening with crossplay?Outriders was supposed to support crossplay from launch, allowing players from different platforms to play together. However, it is currently not working properly – only PC players can play with other PC players, and console players can only play among themselves.
A crossover between PC and Xbox or PlayStation is not yet possible. The developers are working on it, but a fix is tied to the “general patches” that are currently being tested (via Twitter).
If your friends play Outriders on a different platform, you will have to wait for a while before you can play together. In the meantime, you can also explore Outriders solo, though that can be quite difficult, as MeinMMO author Benedict Grothaus has found:
The Spring Event in Pokémon GO is entering its final phase, and some trainers are likely still searching for Azumarill for the Collector Challenge. We will show you how to get the Pokémon.
What is Azumarill needed for? Until April 8 at 8:00 PM, the Spring Event in Pokémon GO is running. There is again a Collector Challenge, for which you need to catch a total of 10 Pokémon. This also includes Azumarill, which is not entirely easy to obtain.
In order to complete the Collector Challenge and claim the bonuses, we will show you how to currently obtain Azumarill.
Catch Azumarill through Raids and Quests
Here’s how to get Azumarill in Raids: For the Spring Event, Azumarill is available in the Level 3 Raids. You can challenge and defeat it there. After your victory, you can catch Azumarill. Once this is achieved, you will see your progress in the Collector Challenge.
Here’s how to get Azumarill in the Quests: For this, you must complete the task “Catch 15 Owei”. As a reward, you are guaranteed to receive one Azumarill. The quest is a bit time-consuming, but if you invest the time, you will be able to catch the 15 Owei without any issues.
Are there any other ways? Normally, Azumarill also appears in the wild. However, the Pokémon is extremely rare there, so you should focus more on the quests and raids.
Azumarill through Evolution – Is that possible? Normally, you can easily get Azumarill by evolving Marill. You only need 25 candies for that. However, this does not work for the Collector Challenge. The clear requirement here is that you must catch Azumarill. So, evolution will not help.
How much time do I have for this? The Collector Challenge ends with the Spring Event on April 8 at 8:00 PM. So, you need to hurry if you want to complete the Collector Challenge. After the event ends, the challenge disappears, and any caught Azumarill will be of no use.
How difficult is the Collector Challenge otherwise? Except for Azumarill, the Collector Challenge in Pokémon GO this time is quite easy to complete. You only need to catch Pokémon that appear frequently during the event. There is also the evolution from Scoppel to Grebbit and a Rocket Grunt that battles with Crypto Owei.
As a reward for the Collector Challenge, you can expect a Lucky Egg, 2500 XP, and 50 Mega Energy for Schlapor.

The streaming platform Twitch became popular through gaming, but currently “Hot Tub Streams” are trending: female streamers talk with fans while wearing swimwear and sitting in a hot tub. Germany’s largest streamer, Marcel “MontanaBlack” Eris, demands that Twitch take action against it.
This is the new trend: Essentially, female streamers sit in bikinis in an outdoor pool or a wading pool and talk to fans in a relaxed atmosphere. By technically “swimming,” they circumvent Twitch’s nudity rules, because the moment they are in the water, a bikini is deemed appropriate attire.
These “Hot Tub Streams” are accompanied by further measures:
Female streamers post pictures of themselves in swimwear or lingerie on Twitter or Instagram.
During the stream, a “Sub-Count” runs: Goals are announced: When a certain number of paid subscriptions are reached, the streamer does something, writes the subscriber’s name on their body, or extends the bathtub stream.
Many “Hot Tub Streamers” promote their “OnlyFans” account on social media and Twitch, where even more revealing content can be seen, for which they would be banned on Twitch.
The goal of the streams is obviously to generate subscriptions and thus money through Twitch itself – which is ultimately the aim of everyone who operates Twitch professionally.
However, through OnlyFans, the streamers want to additionally earn money outside of Twitch with clearly sexual content. Twitch serves as a showcase for another platform.
The “Hot Tub Streams” have already been described as a new “Metagame” on Twitch.
The Twitch streamer Amouranth is very successful in Just Chatting.
Amouranth overtakes Pokimane as the largest streamer on Twitch
Is it successful? Yes, it is successful. The streamer Kaitlyn “Amouranth” Siragusa (27) is considered someone who has shaped this trend.
She averages 11,600 viewers when she streams. She is the largest streamer in the “Just Chatting” category and ranks third among streamers behind continuous streamer Ludwig and the Twitch rascal xQc.
Amouranth doesn’t only do hot tub streams, but when she does, they are very successful.
However, it is not as if the Twitch landscape has completely changed. Amouranth ranks 30th in broadcast minutes on Twitch; the platform continues to be dominated by gaming content.
MontanaBlack cites Amouranth as an example of the trend.
MontanaBlack wants Twitch to take action against bathing suit streams
This is what MontanaBlack says: The German streamer Marcel “MontanaBlack” Eris posts pictures that show such hot tub streams and a photo that associates Twitch with a porn platform.
He calls on Twitch to do something about the streams of women in swimwear.
MontanaBlack has over 940,000 followers on Twitter. His opinion is heavily discussed:
Some agree with him; there are other platforms for such content. There is an opinion that Twitch should be reserved for gaming.
Others criticize MontanaBlack, saying he shouldn’t act as a “great feminist” given his past – the streamer fears that the new trend will steal him subscribers and viewers.
Twitch temporarily bans streamer – she uses it for promotion
Is Twitch doing nothing? Well, they at least impose temporary bans. The streamer Jenelle “Indiefoxx” Dagres has been banned by Twitch about 4 times in the last 4 months.
This doesn’t seem to bother her much.
Under the bot message announcing her ban, she writes: People should support her during her ban. There would be even more content for which she would be banned on her OnlyFans account, which she then links.

In this year, a new MMORPG called Virtuverse starts. In the game, it is even possible that you earn – or lose – money.

However, numerous dangers await you, including dangerous creatures or hostile colonists who want to take you down.
On the planet, you also discover the ruins of an ancient alien civilization and it is among your tasks to find out where the aliens are now and why they left the planet.
Virtuverse aims to combine a story with sandbox gameplay. You build houses and entire cities, gather resources, and create items to supply other players. This way, you can become a well-known builder or a powerful businessman.
There are no class restrictions in the game. Every player can use any item. You are free to grab the weapon or armor that is best, without having to worry about whether your character can actually use the equipment.

What is special about the game? Virtuverse supports trading with real money. You are allowed to buy items made by players with real money. Since you can only get to the really good items through trade, it is possible for craftsmen to earn money. The developer of the MMORPG takes a share from each transaction to finance the ongoing development of the game and the servers.
However, you must be careful. In PvP, you can lose your equipment. If you are defeated, fellow players take the items you bought with money from you. Thus, profit and loss are closely related.
In a PvP battle, you might lose everything you have painstakingly saved up. However, PvP battles take place in special arenas and are thus optional. Nevertheless, you always need to consider which of your weapons and armor you take into these arenas.
When does the game start? Virtuverse starts in Q4 2021 as a Free2Play game via Steam. However, you can already register now on the official website (via virtuverse.io) and download an early access version to get a first impression of the game. The early access servers are only open at certain times, which you can find on the MMORPG’s website.
Who is the game suitable for? Virtuverse is interesting for all players who want to experience a science fiction scenario instead of a new fantasy world. Furthermore, those who like to earn money from games and are not afraid of losing everything should take a look at the title.
If you have dismantled weapons with the perk “Tresh” in Destiny 2, you are now annoyed. Because Bungie made sure that you also charge your Super very quickly in PvP with it – but forgot to mention it in the patch notes. We will show you how good this is in the Crucible and which weapons you should keep an eye on now.
What did Bungie forget? The expansion Beyond Light brought many new perks, including Tresh. The perk ensures that you receive additional Super energy on kills, but this only applies in PvE. Well, not anymore.
Tresh now grants you the strong bonus even in PvP. However, this important change is not found in any patch notes. With this realization/extra function, the perk is now one of the really strong alternatives for the Crucible. The change likely came about a week ago with Update 3.1.1.2.
Since the perk was completely useless in the Crucible before, many weapons with Tresh were dismantled immediately. This is naturally frustrating for the Guardians who spent the last week hunting a God Roll of the Palindrome from the trials.
On Twitter, community manager Dylan “dmg04” Gaffner confirmed on the night of April 6 that the change to Tresh was missed by Bungie to include it in the patch notes:

Pro says: “Tresh now truly in demand, guaranteed”
How does it work now in PvP? Just like in PvE, Tresh gives you a bit of Super energy in PvP right after a kill – in addition to the actual kill. You also hear a sound that announces the effect.
How quickly your Super charges per Tresh kill depends on your Intellect score:
At 0 Intellect, Tresh takes an additional 4 seconds off your charge time.
At 10 Intellect, it goes 2 seconds faster.
The lower the Intellect score, the more noticeable the effect of Tresh.
This may not seem like much at first glance, but the pros agree that Tresh now plays in a league with the best perks. PvP experts Fallout and CoolGuy say such things, based on their tests that we rely on here.
If you recently set foot in the Trials, you are 100% certain to have encountered a few Warlocks who coldly use their Super Chaos Reach every round. With Tresh, this technique becomes even more vicious.
Here’s why it’s so strong: How strong Tresh really is becomes evident in that you have your most powerful abilities available before all other players: the Super. Especially in modes like Trials, Supers are game-changers and can decide a round single-handedly.
But in all modes and with all classes, you can “snowball” with your team, chaining Supers – since you create orbs on Super kills that, in turn, charge your teammates’ Supers quickly (many Supers per set, but you understand). However, you can also build around Tresh with all classes. One class benefits particularly.
Warlocks, try these Exotics
Especially Warlocks benefit the most from Tresh in PvP. With exotic armor, you can recharge your Super even faster without doing much:
4 seconds faster per kill with Mantle of Harmony – here the weapon element and subclass element must match. However, you also receive bonus damage at full Super.
6 seconds faster per kill with Nezareks Sin. This works with any subclass as long as you use a Void weapon. If you use a Void focus, it goes even faster through grenade and melee kills.
If you play Chaos Reach, you switch to the Geomag Stabilizers at 80% Super charge and can get your Super in under 1:30 minutes after just 5 kills.
If you cancel Chaos Reach early, you save energy, switch back to one of the other two Exotics, and get the next Super before the opponent has had just one Super. Keep in mind that Bungie recently slightly reduced the saved energy.
You can further boost Super gain through mods or Stasis aspects. Titans and Hunters can also use synergies with Tresh to their advantage. Golden Gun with Trance comes to mind, for example. But Warlocks are likely to be the winners here.
