EA Sports has announced new icons for FIFA 23. At the same time, there are also 6 names missing that were previously playable legends in FIFA.
Update, September 14, 2022: EA Sports has now updated the “Class of 23”. Now, 2 icons that were previously missing have returned:
Casillas
Cafu
Both players are icons that were only added in FIFA 22. Consequently, their absence from the original listing was surprising. Now they are back.
However, the two remaining spots in the “Icon 100” are now filled. Therefore, it is not expected that any more icons will be added before the FIFA 23 release.
The updated icon overview in FIFA 23:
The updated “Class of 23” in FIFA 23 (via EA Sports)
This article is an update after 8 icons were previously listed. From here, the original article continues – however, we have removed Casillas and Cafu from the overview of missing icons below.
At the same time, EA Sports provided an overview of the “Class of 23,” meaning all icons of FIFA 23.
This is the old icon overview – Casillas and Cafu are still missing there
A total of 100 legends are expected to be included this time in Ultimate Team. However, it is noticeable that only 98 icons have been announced for the game so far. So two more icons are likely to be added.
Furthermore, it is noticeable that there are not only new names, but also some that are missing.
Which icons are no longer in FIFA 23?
These old icons are missing: The most notable name is one that was already expected. Diego Maradona will reportedly not be present in FIFA 23.
Only players who had already drawn Maradona as a card could still use him. However, he was removed from packs, drafts, and the “Soccer Aid World XI Team.” In FIFA 23, he apparently is not available at all anymore, as he is missing from the official list.
Besides Maradona, 7 other names from FIFA 22 are also missing, which likely will not be legends at the FIFA 23 release.
Which icons are still missing in FIFA 23?
Deco: The Portuguese midfielder has been around for a long time, but his cards did not have particularly high stats. The same applies to the next icon.
Giggs: Ryan Giggs also seems to be leaving the game.
Guardiola: Pep Guardiola was added in FIFA 20 but was also considered one of the weaker options in the icon midfield. However, you can now play him as a manager in Career Mode.

Inzaghi: Filippo Inzaghi also no longer has a card in the FIFA 23 icons list. The Italian forward has been considered by many players as one of the weakest icons, as his real-life class was simply not feasible to translate into the game due to weak stats.
It remains open whether the icons have been permanently removed or if they will return to FIFA 23 at a later date.
More and more official FIFA 23 ratings are being released. EA Sports has now revealed the 23 best players in the Premier League.
These are the FIFA 23 ratings: The ratings describe the players’ abilities in FIFA 23. The higher a player’s values, the better they are on the virtual soccer field.
More and more values are appearing on the way to the FIFA 23 release:
The official list will now include some more players: The 20 best players in the Premier League are now known.
These are the 23 top players from the Premier League for FIFA 23
That’s why the Premier League is so important: For many soccer fans, the Premier League is considered the “best league in the world.” It brings the most exciting title race, as several teams are in contention for the top positions. Moreover, no other league has as much money as the English top league – which is evident from the exorbitant transfer fees, but also that many of the best players in the world are on the field there.
In Ultimate Team, Premier League players are typically among the most sought-after cards in the mode.
These are the top 23 of the Premier League:
The 23 best players in the Premier League at a glance
De Bruyne (91)
Salah (90)
Van Dijk (90)
C. Ronaldo (90)
Son (89)
Casemiro (89)
Alisson (89)
Kane (89)
Ederson (89)
Kanté (89)
Haaland (88)
Joao Cancelo (88)
Ruben Dias (88)
Bernardo Silva (88)
Fabinho (87)
Rodri (87)
Robertson (87)
Koulibaly (87)
Alexander-Arnold (87)
Lloris (87)
De Gea (87)
Laporte (86)
Mendy (86)
These are the most exciting players for FIFA 23: Overall, the high ratings of the Premier League stand out once again. A total of 11 players from the Premier League top 23 also belong to the overall top 23 of FIFA 23.
Nevertheless, some players stand out. Especially the attackers Salah, Ronaldo, and Son are likely to be highly sought after again this year – even though Ronaldo is significantly slower than usual. De Bruyne will shine in midfield, while van Dijk remains one of the best defenders.
Erling Haaland also has a good upgrade, and Cancelo is likely to remain one of the best full-backs in the game. The Premier League has also acquired possibly the best defender from last Serie A season in FUT, Koulibaly.
It will be more challenging with cards like Casemiro, Kane, or Ruben Dias and Rodri. They all received high ratings but are very slow – and that can be a huge issue in FIFA.
About a year ago, Golden Eye 007 was unexpectedly removed from the index. The N64 game from 1997 never really hit the market in Germany but still had many fans and is considered one of the best shooters of its time. MeinMMO author Maik Schneider also got his hands on the title and is looking forward to a reunion.
GoldenEye 007 is the video game adaptation of the 1995 James Bond film of the same name. The legendary Pierce Brosnan was in top form and apparently inspired the developers of the corresponding video game.
After all, GoldenEye was groundbreaking in many ways and a milestone in the development of single-player shooters and the introduction of new gadgets into the genre. GoldenEye was not the first modern shooter, but definitely a big step forward.
However, the development was also on the brink: A relatively small team developed the title and brought little experience. This, however, led to unconventional solutions that ultimately benefitted the game.
The level structure was designed before gameplay considerations were made. This resulted in often having multiple ways to reach the goal, which didn’t always make sense for the player (via webarchive.org). This made the levels feel organic, like a real house, not simple linear levels.

The same goes for the cool gadgets and weapons, without which a Bond adventure would probably never work. They were added to the game only after the levels were already finished, and creative solutions were needed to incorporate them meaningfully.
All in all, the development was probably very chaotic and characterized by “crunch,” meaning constant overtime and extra work.
But somehow the team managed to bring a damn good shooter to the market – and I haven’t even mentioned the best part yet: The 4-player mode with the option for split-screen.
There was a bit of chaos here too: The mode wasn’t actually planned, was added without the knowledge of the responsible people at Rare and Nintendo, and was developed within a month (via gamespot.com).
And that multiplayer mode turned a good shooter into a milestone in my personal video game history.
Sometimes, it is the coincidences that lead to greatness:
We spent countless hours huddled together in front of the much too small television, causing hundreds, thousands of digital deaths. The nasty proximity mines particularly stuck in my memory and required unnecessarily complicated tactics to lure friends into the explosives.
One needed to have some persuasion skills to be successful in a multiplayer shooter. Okay, a bit of screen cheating might have helped too.
I was 10 or maybe 11 years old at the time and had no idea until recently that the game was indexed in Germany.
What does “indexed” mean? When games land on the index in Germany, they are considered youth-endangering media. These games are not banned, but advertising for them is forbidden, as is making them accessible to children or teenagers.
There are different classifications in indexing, and GoldenEye was on the so-called “List A”. The game was therefore allowed to be sold in Germany, but advertising was prohibited, as was placement in stores or areas that were freely accessible to children and teenagers (via schnittberichte.com).
The shooter was indexed due to its explicit depictions of violence from a first-person perspective. This time, the developers’ creativity apparently led to their downfall: Because GoldenEye 007 inadvertently invented “headshots” for video games and thus probably caused the extra kick of “youth endangering”.
But now that’s over and GoldenEye 007 can finally be officially advertised in Germany. Two major players in the video game market want to benefit from this – Xbox and Nintendo.
GoldenEye 007 will soon be available in the Xbox Game Pass with 4K resolution, achievements, and local multiplayer
Golden Eye 007 will be coming to the Switch soon, with a focus on the original but will include online support
For me, the game was a defining factor in my gaming career. I played every game related to James Bond movies from then on but never watched the films.
At some point, I realized that GoldenEye was both the first and the best Bond game. Let’s see if that’s still true 25 years later.
For all Guardians of Destiny 2 who love to showcase their skills in the tough endgame PvP, Trials, the Trials of Osiris, are returning at the 14th Saint this week. But first, the weekly reset brings you a new update on the current story. MeinMMO tells you what you can play this week.
Update info for Hotfix 6.2.0.3: Today’s background maintenance for Hotfix 6.2.0.3 also brought a surprising downtime, causing the Destiny 2 servers to be temporarily unavailable. The update is 201.8 MB on PC. The servers are now back online, so you can log in.
This week: As always, Guardians can expect a new chapter in the seasonal story of Destiny 2 in Season 18. Guardians are particularly curious about the dark secrets that Mithrax, one of the main characters in Season 18, hides. He currently struggles to reconcile the looter he once was with the leader he is now.
Perhaps also because he doesn’t want his daughter to think poorly of him. And it looks like Eramis, the thawed pirate bride from the “Beyond Light” DLC, could significantly disrupt his plans.
Besides the story, players can also increase their power level again by completing challenges. By the end of the week, the Trials of Osiris will join the regular pinnacle loot activities.
After several weeks of absence, the PvE endgame returns, luring the elite through sweaty matches to flawless loot on the prestigious Lighthouse. Additionally, the Vanguard grants double points for your reputation rank.
What else to expect, we will reveal to you now.
The place for the Trials elite – The Lighthouse
The most important information about activities from September 13 to September 20.
Navôta, the witch and successor of Omnigul, is responsible for the fireteam of Shaw Han, Cas, and Maeve. Rob them of their leader in the Cosmodrome and take revenge – also in Shawn’s name.
This is the Nightfall weapon of the week: As a reward for your run, you will always receive a special Nightfall weapon. In Season 18, Bungie has provided you with some good old options.
This week you will receive the grenade launcher “Sledgehammer.”
The Master version (Adept) of the Nightfall weapons will be available to unlock starting October 4th. That’s when the hardest PvE difficulty in Destiny 2 called “Grandmaster” begins.
Face the witch Navôta this week in the Nightfall.
Playlist Strikes have the following modifiers this week:
Solar Scorch
Stasis Burn
Grounded
The Scorch modifier lasts the entire week, while the others change daily.
In the “Oath of the Student” raid, you should survive the challenge “Basic Information” this week. If you have collected a symbol for the Obelisk, you must not exceed the buff “Increased Knowledge”.
As a reward for the challenge in the raid encounter of the “Carer” on Grandmaster, this week awaits the chance to receive a Master version of the submachine gun “Subjugation,” the grenade launcher “Sighted,” the linear fusion rifle “Catastrophic,” or the pulse rifle “Insidious.” But keep in mind that hard and normal modes share the loot.
Additional pinnacle rewards from the endgame you can get:
In the Vex raid “Glass Chamber” on Venus
As well as in the dungeon “Siphon of Avarice”
The “Siphon of Avarice” awaits you! – Will you succumb to it?
Weekly Activities
With Season 18, new activities have come to Destiny 2, turning the Guardians into pirates with their own crew and letting them puzzle over cryptic four-liners.
Skiff Crash: Dive into this new 6-player activity for ship-to-ship battles, to prevent Eramis and her pirate gang from plunging the galaxy into chaos.
Expedition: Assemble treasure maps, search for treasures, and return to your ship while fending off enemy pirate crews.
Pirate Hideouts: Battle through weekly missions and loot powerful relics hidden in the hideouts of the pirate lords.
In addition, the contents of the current DLC “The Witch Queen” are still active and can be played. For example, in the weekly repeatable campaign mission.
Savathun’s Throne World – Weekly Campaign Mission
“The Ritual” – Repeatable Witch Queen campaign mission
You must linger in the Throne World on behalf of the Vanguard, for Savathun has brought the Traveler there. While you try to free him, you must “play games” with her to reveal the betrayal to the Witch Queen and the last memory of her Worm Ancestor. However, whether that was just part of her plan, you will have to decide for yourself in the end.
Crucible – These are the PvP playlists:
Private Match
Rumble
Control
Elimination
Glory Survival
Glory Survival: Freelance
Showdown
Conflict
Trials of Osiris (Starts September 16)
Ascendant Challenge – Dreaming City
Petra Venj is now found in the Dreaming City right at Rheasilvia – as always during the 3rd Curse Week. At the same time, the 1st Ascendant Challenge is active.

Today, Season 10 titled “Price of Power” launches in Division 2. After many months of relative silence around the cover shooter, players can now look forward to new content. And that’s not all. Ubisoft announced, with an eye on 2023, that work on Year 5 has already begun. MeinMMO will bring you up to date.
After Division 2 announced it would only rotate old content until the end of 2021, many agents lost their loyalty. However, more players are now returning to Washington and New York because Ubisoft is not only offering hope for more but has also announced many new contents for Division 2 in recent months.
These will now gradually make their way into the game. Today, Season 10 “The Price of Power” has launched and brings new content for “Busy Bees”.
Check out the current The Division 2 trailer for the new PvE activity “Countdown”, which has now received an update to the difficulty levels in Season 10.

The Division 2 – Season 10 “Price of Power” Trailer
Season 10 will continue this story in a new bounty.
What is the new bounty about? Agents are to hunt 5 targets including the main target General Anderson in the upcoming 3 months during the new bounty. He is a leader of the True Sons, who is trying to negotiate peace with the Black Tusk to pose their united forces against the Division.
Additionally, there are plenty of new items to earn during these hunts through the season pass, such as weapons, 2 new brand sets, and more.
From rank 2, the new brand set named “Brazos-de-Arcabuz” awaits
At rank 11, you receive the new brand set “Umbra-Initiative”
Rank 30 gives you the named M1A rifle “Left Part of the Stage”
The named left-handed “Lefty” shotgun, which wiped everything out on the PTS server, awaits at rank 80
Rank 85 holds the exotic pistol “The Busy Bee”
And rank 90 will provide agents with the exotic gloves “Bloody Knuckles”.
Additionally, there are many blueprints to collect in Season 10.
“Lucky”, the last target of the bounty, can be completed from November 15. After that, nothing stands between you and the primary target General Anderson, as the current roadmap shows.
This is the new bounty and roadmap for Season 10.
Additionally, there will be 2 new clothing events “SHD Poster Boy”, which will offer military outfits, and “Dark Path”, with creepier masks or Halloween themes. There will also be 4 previously known Global Events again.
What else has changed? Ubisoft and Massive have integrated not only new content but also improvements for players. For instance, exotics now have a small chance to drop from NPCs in normal gameplay.
In addition, players had requested through feedback from public test servers (PTS) to introduce harder versions for Countdown as well as other activities.
Consequently, in Season 10, the two missions “Tidal Basin” and “Manning National Zoo” can be completed on Legendary difficulty. More are to follow.
Loot-heavyPvE mode becomes more flexible: For the PvE mode “Countdown”, there will now be multiple difficulty levels instead of just one. You can then complete these alone or in a group, even with player matchmaking.
Normal – Can be completed alone
Hard – Designed for groups of 8 casual players
Challenging – For a group of 8 randomly matched players. However, this can also be completed by a team of 2-4 hardcore players.
Heroic – The perfect challenge for 4-8 hardcore players.
The Hunters at the beginning are, however, not easy to farm from Season 10 onwards, as they now do not give you normal loot anymore, but instead “Hunter Dog Tags”.
Looking good has also become easier: Since Season 10, every player can fully customize their character at the mirror. So not only hair and tattoos but also face and body.
Division 2 will introduce even more missions with the “Legendary” difficulty in the future.
This is what agents can expect in free play: For the open-world, there was an update for the adjustable directives. Now you can voluntarily restrict access to blue ammunition crates in exchange for more XP. However, no new directives have been added.
The launch of Season 10 was rather rocky, and many players reported Delta errors and unstable server connections. However, Ubisoft has also mentioned future improvements here.
Overall, the new story and the new content give the impression that it is worthwhile to rediscover Division 2. Especially, Ubisoft revealed in the last showcase that work on Year 5 of Division 2 has already started. Players can thus expect not only new but also regular content for the cover shooter.
With TU17 and Season 11, a new PvE mode called “Descent” will come to the game.
In this mode, players are stripped of their powerful gear and must survive longer without their usual set advantages, just like in the “Survival” mode from Division 1. However, they can loot talents to gain strength.
This way, mechanics can be combined that the game typically does not allow. This allows for completely new play styles and builds within “Descent”.
By the way, Survival was the mode where most Division players died:
The future of Division 2 looks much brighter now, and if the ongoing story turns out as good as hoped, then the game might experience a second spring. Additionally, the new free-to-play game Division: Heartland will contribute, which indirectly ties into the Division 2 saga.
Furthermore, now everyone can try Division 2 for free.
Here’s how you can play The Division 2 for free now
The Division 2 is free over UBISOFT+ until October 10.
If you want to discover the game now, you can even do so for free. Until October 10, Division 2 is included in the free trial month of Ubisoft+. Interested players can explore the game with all the content and rewards of the Ultimate Edition.
To make use of the free month, you just need to activate the free subscription of Ubisoft+. This can be done directly through the launcher.
Little tip: This also allows old players, who may not own the “Year 1 Pass” of Division 2 or other content, to obtain these again for free now. So you can, for example, enjoy the hidden 7 secret missions again, which entertain you with some tricky puzzles.
Have you already taken a glimpse into Season 10? Or have we just made you curious? If so, feel free to share your first impressions of the season and what you like best so far in the comments with the Division community.
For those who prefer to indulge in memories, we recommend a royal meeting with the king of exotics.
Fortnite remains silent about the further course of the story. Will there be a live event? When is the server down and when exactly does the new 4th season of the battle royale shooter start? We will answer all of this here on MeinMMO.
What is happening in Fortnite? Nobody knows for sure. When the battle against the terrorist group “IO” was won, the situation on the “Chapter 3” map relaxed. The Seven and the inhabitants of the island built a theme park in the name of peace and finally started to take a “vacation.”
We have summarized all the important information about the live event, the paradise, and the server down here:
What we now know: Fortnite starts Season 4 in Chapter 3 on Sunday, September 18.
Here is the relaxed trailer for the fun in Chapter 3 Season 3:

Fortnite: Trailer for Season 3 shows crazy parties and a huge amusement park
While the zero point relaxed after the crisis, plants and roots sprouted everywhere on the map. Even a giant reality tree towered over the map and delighted many players with its lotus tree crown.
Everything seemed peaceful, but that was only for a short time. The zero point used its power to bring back many things from Chapter 1.
Even the Seven began to behave strangely. Until everyone disappeared and you had to search for them. A new threat is on the horizon, threatening to transform the entire island into a chrome wonderland.
Season 4 begins in Fortnite this week
When does Season 4 start in Fortnite? Epic Games has finally broken its silence and dated the release of the new Season 4 for September 18. On the same day Fortnite will take the servers down at 08:00 AM German time to deploy the update.
We will accompany you during the server downtime on the weekend and provide you with leaks and new information.
Here, too, the strange chrome mass appears that devours everything. Where this substance comes from and whether it has anything to do with the zero point is still uncertain. However, it is a fact that Season 4 is already creating a lot of excitement with its mysteries.
What do you think about everything being dipped in chrome soon? Do you think the zero point is to blame, or are there other forces at work that we do not yet understand? Feel free to let us know in the comments!

The Twitch streamer Chance “Sodapoppin” Morris had the opportunity in 2019 to switch to the Microsoft platform Mixer for a million-dollar deal. He turned down the offer – a decision that still keeps him awake at night, as he admitted recently.
Who is the streamer?
Sodapoppin is a veteran on Twitch and has been on the platform since 2011, referring to himself as the “Twitch guy”.
He currently has 8.8 million followers on Twitch, with an average of 20,000 viewers watching his streams.
In theory, he can look back at a successful career, but there is one decision the streamer still regrets.
Soda has been on Twitch for ages and has witnessed many changes in the streaming platform. One of the most significant ones has been presented to you in the video:
Start video
Prime Gaming, the secret behind Twitch’s success
Missed deal still haunts him years later
This is how the statement came about: In a joint stream with Nick “Nmplol” Polom, Soda was asked which missed opportunity he would not let slip away with his current knowledge. Sodapoppin’s response came quickly: “Mixer!”
Sodapoppin explained that he had been offered a lucrative deal from Mixer worth $10 million, which he turned down. Nmplol could hardly believe that someone would let such an opportunity slip and called Soda an idiot. He replied that he knows that himself.
This is what’s behind it: In 2019, Microsoft aimed to build a competitor to the streaming giant Twitch with Mixer. They dug deep into their pockets and poached some of the biggest Twitch stars.
Big streamers like Ninja and shroud made a lot of money with their Mixer deals, but for Microsoft, the plan did not work: Mixer failed, and the streamers simply returned to Twitch as if nothing had happened. Small Mixer streamers, however, were left behind.
Sodapoppin could have taken the money without having to face the consequences.
I could have signed, they would have gone bankrupt and closed down. They would have had to fulfill the contract and pay me what they owed. That would have been millions, and I would have just come back. I didn’t sign it. Morality!
Sodapoppin via Twitch
Since then, Sodapoppin seems to be haunted by the missed opportunity. The streamer said it keeps him awake at night. Just recently, he was upset about not having taken the chance back then.
This is what Soda would do differently today: Back then, Sodapoppin turned down the deal out of moral concerns. Today, it seems that his conscience no longer bothers him: He would sign the damn deal, leave, and take the damn money with him.
“If Soda leaves, then the ship Twitch sinks”
So why didn’t Soda sign then? Sodapoppin is known for his dry humor and sometimes mocks his own viewers. But turning his back on Twitch so easily, he probably couldn’t bring himself to do that.
He believes Mixer wanted him because he had been on the platform for so long, longer than anyone else:
I have this image attached to me; Soda is the original, he is the Twitch guy. He has been on Twitch longer than anyone else; if he leaves, that means the ship sinks, right? That’s a big responsibility.
Soda via Twitch
Clearly, Soda was worried that his departure could signal the end for Twitch.
What do you think? Is this delusion, or would Sodapoppin’s departure really have such an impact on Twitch? Feel free to leave us a comment with your opinion.
Similar to how Mixer tried back then, YouTube is now also trying to build a competitor to the streaming giant Twitch. In doing so, they are also acquiring some of the biggest streamers, but are going about it more tactfully. However, one of the biggest Twitch streamers believes that others are undervaluing themselves.
The groups for the LoL Worlds 2022 have been drawn – the betting odds on who will win the 2022 World Championship at League of Legends are also set: For fans of teams from the USA or Europe, the outlook is grim. The weakest team from Asia is given twice the chance to win the LoL Worlds 2022 as the 4 best teams from Europe and the USA. Fans of G2, Fnatic, or Cloud9 will need to be brave.
What does the ratio between West and East look like in LoL? From the West’s perspective, it has been getting slightly worse each year for the past 4 years:
In 2018, the teams from Asia struggled: 3 teams from Europe and the USA made it to the semifinals, but ultimately, the Chinese team Invictus Gaming prevailed.
In 2019, G2 at least made it to the Finals of the Worlds – where they had to concede defeat to Super-Carry Doinb.
In 2020, G2 at least reached the semifinals, where they were shown by Showmaker and Canyon that it just wasn’t enough.
But in 2021, it was all over: Only 2 teams from the West made it to the quarterfinals and were eliminated there without a chance.
Faker has put together a strong team with T1 in 2022 and belongs to the extended favorites for the 4th World Championship:

The Life of Faker – Why He is a Living Legend
5 teams from China and Asia in the circle of favorites for the LoL Worlds 2022
This is how it looks this year: The bookmakers see 5 teams from China and South Korea as the closer favorites to win the LoL Worlds: 2 teams from South Korea, 3 teams from China. Anyone betting $1 on these teams will receive between $3.50 and $9 in return.
The “best chances” for a team from the West to win the LoL Worlds are given to 4 teams from Europe and the USA: All 4 teams are given odds of 1:67 by a US website.
The weakest team from Asia, DRX, gets twice as good odds, at 1:34.
This is Ocelote, the head of G2. He would give anything to become a world champion – but 2022 does not look good for him.
The two finalists from the LPL are considered top favorites for the LoL Worlds 2022
Which teams are the top favorites for the LoL Worlds?
The top favorites for the 2022 World Championship, according to bookmakers, are two Chinese teams that have not played a significant role in the LoL Worlds in recent years but have excelled this year:
The Chinese team JD Gaming won the LPL in 2022. They had the dominant player Yagao in the Chinese finals as their Midlaner. Additionally, they have the good Jungler Kanavi from the legendary team Griffin in the Jungle.
The other favorite is Top Esports: The team around Midlaner Knight and Botlaner JackeyLove has been given great chances for years to make a breakthrough. But it went wrong. This year, a top player Tian joined Top Esports, who was able to win a Worlds in 2019.
Is Tian the missing puzzle piece to bring Top Esports all the way to the top?
Gen G. and Chovy are the hope for South Korea
What about South Korea? The third top favorite for the title in 2022 is Gen G., the South Korean champion:
They have assembled an insane team in 2022: The core Botlaner Ruler is now complemented by Chovy, a dominant Midlaner who is regarded as the founder of the “Church of Chovy”.
The team is supported by 3 strong role players, with the experienced Jungler Peanut experiencing a renaissance at the moment.
What about the other teams? From the bookmakers’ perspective, the other 5 teams from China and South Korea gradually follow:
The South Koreans T1 with Faker and exceptional support Keria
Edward Gaming, the reigning world champion, with ADC Viper
Royal Never Give Up, the winners of MSI 2022, are slotted at 6th in the odds
DWG KIA, the former miracle team with Showmaker and Canyon, now have only outsider chances to win the World Championship
The last place among the Asia teams with odds of 1:34 is occupied by DRX.
The betting odds on the winner of the LoL Worlds according to the site esportbet.com
G2 and Cloud 9 hit death groups A and B
What about “our teams”?? Things look quite bleak. Because the “experienced teams” from the West, which one could expect a surprise from, have hit death groups:
G2 is already up against the top favorite JD Gaming in the preliminary round and then has to get past Showmaker/Canyon: an extremely difficult task.
Cloud9, the strongest team from the USA, faces T1 with Faker and reigning world champion EDward Gaming – it also seems likely that they will be eliminated already in the main round.
The other two teams that are certainly playing Worlds, Rogue and 100 Thieves, have managed to secure still manageable groups at the moment, but might be unlucky enough to get strong teams assigned here as well, which will come through the Play-Ins.
Jankos (G2) has to face Canyon in the main round, one of the best junglers in the world.
The best teams from the West have half as bad chances as the weakest team from Asia
According to the bookmakers, the odds for a team from the West to win the LoL Worlds have likely never been worse than this year:
All “4 big” teams from the West are given maximum outsider odds of 1:67 to win the Worlds: Rogue, G2 Esports, Cloud9, and Fnatic are all at 1:67.
100 Thieves, MAD Lions, and Evil Geniuses are even at 1:101.
Even in 2021, some teams from Europe experienced a harsh awakening:
The first official FIFA 23 ratings are known and are causing discussions among players. Apparently, some FIFA fans do not agree with all the values.
These are the ratings: The ratings represent the stats with which real football stars are rated in the game. From sprint speed to short passing to shots, headers, defensive behavior – everything is quantified.
These numbers result in a player’s overall rating. A player’s values give an indication of how strong they ultimately are in the game.
Some ratings have already been leaked. First, the values were known through a leak on Xbox. Then followed the first official ratings, which showed the values of the “FIFA ambassadors” and the “Top 23,” as well as the new FIFA 23 icons.
But even these first values are enough to spark discussions among FIFA fans.
Fans do not agree with all ratings for FIFA 23
This is what players are saying: On social media, on Twitter or in the FIFA subreddit, the ratings are being discussed. Numerous players are expressing their opinions there – and are criticizing some of the values.
An example is Tottenham striker Heung-min Son. He was the top scorer in the Premier League last season – but in the ratings, he receives an 89 again, just like last year. A high rating, but given his performance, some players would have wished for an improvement: “Man, what does Son have to do to get an upgrade?” criticizes a user in the FIFA subreddit.
Another example is Robert Lewandowski. He has received a downgrade from 92 to 91, despite winning the championship and the top scorer title in the Bundesliga: “My only real criticism is that Lewa scored 35 goals in 34 league games and 50 in 46 games in all competitions and still somehow gets a downgrade,” criticizes a user in the current top comment on the ratings in the subreddit (via. reddit). Additionally, the low pace of Lewandowski is being criticized.
The ratings of the FIFA 23 ambassadors
Kylian Mbappé, on the other hand, is considered too highly rated by some – especially compared to players like Lewandowski, Benzema, de Bruyne, or Messi, who all received the same rating (91): “Putting Mbappé on the same level as Benzema is outrageous; he may have high potential, but he is not on the same level as Benz/Lewa” (via reddit).
The Top 23 in FIFA 23
Additionally, there are several other points of criticism.
Some players think Kanté is rated too high with 89 – he was not as strong as he used to be last season: “Kanté being rated higher than Modrić and Kroos, especially after last season, that’s not 2018 EA…” comments one (via. reddit).
Modric is missed in the Top 23: “Where is Modric? Did EA really downgrade him after his monster season?” criticizes a user (via. reddit).
There is also criticism of Sadio Mané’s position. It is simply wrong: Mané is listed as a left midfielder but typically plays as a forward at Bayern.
For Pedri, there is criticism that his 85 rating is very high – and his stats on the card do not really support that.
Players like Pulisic (82) or Havertz (84) are also considered by some to be rated too highly in comparison.
FIFA 23: Gameplay trailer shows new features – What makes it different from FIFA 22?
Overall, there is much discussion about the values. Fans defend some players, while on the other hand, there is criticism of the ratings.
However, it must be noted: How strong the players ultimately are in the game can only be partially determined by the overall rating. After all, there are always players who fit particularly well into the current FIFA meta. A 84-rated attacker with pace and dribbling skills can be better than a slow 90-rated striker.
The developer Geoffrey “GZ” Zatkin was involved in the development of the original MMORPG Everquest 25 years ago. Reflecting on the year 2000, he tells how different times were back then compared to today and how he once sparked a shitstorm that led to a call from his boss.
Who is Geoffrey Zetkin?
Zatkin is one of the original developers of the legendary MMORPG Everquest, which became a small team in 1997. There was no template for the game, nothing to guide you, it was experimental. Later, Blizzard used Everquest as a template to develop WoW.
Zatkin worked for 6 years at Sony Online Entertainment and was then a “Level Designer and Game Designer” – he was responsible for the magic system of Everquest, with over 850 spells (via LinkedIn).
After his time at Everquest, he pursued a variety of projects, many of which involved MMOs and games.
Monsters & Memories – Trailer for the MMORPG by the creators of EverQuest recalls other times
There was little information about spells – only an Australian website
This is what he says about his work: Anyone familiar with MMORPGs today knows that everything is styled and monitored. Developers of MMORPGs like New World, WoW, or ESO are constantly analyzing data: players are transparent. Additionally, there are websites that list every post from developers, analyze every line of code, and present all information clearly.
In the days of Everquest, it was different, as Zatkin explains in a conversation with PC Gamer:
If the developer wanted to know how people truly played his MMORPG, he had to log in with his GM account, cast a “Super-Invisibility” spell, and then watch players in the game while they played.
There was practically no information about how spells worked in Everquest itself. People simply had to buy them and try them out.
The main source of information about Everquest was an Australian website called “Caster’s Realm”, which maintained a detailed list of spells in the game: They apparently got their information by reading the patch notes from the test server. However, Zatkin apparently did not appreciate that at all.
All important spells of the classes nerfed on the test server – except one
This is what the developer says: Zatkin stated that he had some fun with the fans and the operators of the site who were peeking at patch notes:
One year, around April 1st, I put a patch into beta where I nerfed every popular spell of every single class, except for the most important spell of one single class. I buffed that one.
The designer says he simply put the patch online without any further explanation. It was meant as a friendly reminder that the beta was there for testing.
Geoffrey Zatkin speaks of his time as head of magic at Everquest.
The forums are on fire – What have you DONE?
The reaction when the new changes were extracted from Caster’s Realm in beta and then spread can probably be imagined by anyone who has ever played an MMORPG:
That was the only time I was ever called by my boss at 1 a.m.: Brad called me and said: The forums are on fire, what have you DONE?
This is a picture of Brad McQuaid, his boss at the time. The developer passed away in 2019: His MMORPG Pantheon is said to be a successor to Everquest.
Everquest has many fantastic stories, especially because the online role-playing game was so different and much “rawer” than the MMORPGs we know and play today.

Furthermore, Pokémon GO is currently struggling with several bugs, which Daniel Schilling also addresses in his Twitter post:
The only somewhat authentic tool for communication – the developer diary – is now being used as Campfire marketing with delays since June and has now been completely forgotten. Shinies are regularly disabled, regional Pokémon are missing, stickers for Kapuno and the Season of Light are gone.
Recently, there have been frequent instances where announced content is either missing or has been delayed in the game, such as regional Pokémon and shinies, the developer diary, which was supposed to be released monthly according to Pokémon GO, but also special event stickers (via pokemongolive.com).
However, as trainers have now communicated under the event announcement from Pokémon GO on Twitter, these stickers are still not available there, but can only be purchased for a fee in the in-game shop.

Moreover, Niantic has been significantly delayed with event announcements and new raid bosses in recent weeks. Today, on September 13, 2022, at 10:00 AM local time, two new Ultra Beasts have entered the Level 5 raids.
Although the new raid bosses had already been suspected through the findings of the PokeMiners, a group of data miners, the official announcement from Pokémon GO on Twitter only came on the night of September 13, after they had already been active in the first time zones.
Many players, such as user dm_stp under Pokémon GO’s official Twitter post, have expressed a desire for better transparency (via twitter.com): “If you wanted to surprise us with the next raid bosses, you should have at least made small hints in the past few days, maybe even some of those cool found-footage videos to let us know you have something planned…”
These late announcements have also been increasingly observed by Spieletrend in recent weeks, and he sees it not as a deliberate surprise effect but rather evidence of the developers being overwhelmed, as he explains in his post:
Raids and events are not announced until the very last moment. And don’t get me wrong, the surprise effect can be fun, and I have nothing against that. But it currently does not seem like an intentional surprise.
Clearly, Niantic is currently maximally overwhelmed. As a community, we would surely be more lenient with all these bugs if there was communication about what is going on. However, it seems that not much has changed since the ban of a former official Niantic partner.
We at MeinMMO also want to know your opinion on this. Do you agree with the harsh criticism from Daniel “Spieletrend” Schilling and parts of the community, or do you see no problems in the current handling of players?

What do other trainers think about the current situation?
Looking at the likes and comments under Schilling’s Twitter post, it quickly becomes clear that he seems to speak for many players with his harsh criticism. The international posts from the Reddit community reflect this picture as well.
Many trainers are also frustrated with the ongoing bugs in the GO Battle League, which, as a video from a participant shows, did not spare the Pokémon World Championship and caused issues there.
Moreover, the announcement of various new games by Niantic, such as the basketball game NBA World, is also a red flag for many in this context. Some also find it incomprehensible why 8% of Niantic’s employees were laid off in June 2022 amidst these ongoing problems. Therefore, Twitter user jmeier92 sarcastically comments:

Why there are indeed so many problems in the game right now and why Niantic is increasingly changing the contents of the boxes cannot be said. However, the posts from Spieletrend and other trainers show that the current situation in the game is causing significant frustration.
Whether Niantic will address this officially, as it did last year, and make concessions in the interest of the community remains to be seen. If there is new information on this, you will definitely hear about it from us at MeinMMO.
What is your opinion on the current approach in the game? Do you also find that the constant changes are unacceptable and hope for more communication from the developers? Or do you see it all as just hot air and cannot understand the criticism at all? Let us know here at MeinMMO in the comments and discuss with other trainers.
The YouTuber Spieletrend has spoken out on social media regarding the current situation in Pokémon GO and speaks to the soul of many players with his harsh criticism. We at MeinMMO have looked into what it is all about and want to know your opinion on the topic.
What is happening in Pokémon GO right now? Niantic is currently facing significant backlash from social media, as the criticism of the current situation and allegations regarding their handling of Pokémon GO trainers seem never-ending.
But that was not the only change that negatively affected the trainers’ mood. The German-speaking YouTuber Daniel “Spieletrend” Schilling expressed himself in his Twitter post from September 12, 2022, regarding the current developments in the game, not holding back his words.
Who is Spieletrend? Spieletrend, whose real name is Daniel Schilling, is the most successful German-speaking Pokémon GO YouTuber. He was briefly employed as a “sponsored content creator” for Niantic but ended his partnership in July 2021 due to the support’s handling of a prior ban.
“This is what I feared back during #HearUsNiantic”
What does Schilling criticize? As can be seen from his current Twitter post, Spieletrend is mainly frustrated with the poor communication between Niantic and the players. Back in 2021, there was a large campaign called “HearUsNiantic”, where trainers demanded more acknowledgment from the developers.
The trigger for this was the planned removal of the home bonuses introduced during the Corona pandemic and a related deterioration in the reach to PokéStops and gyms. Niantic finally conceded to the community’s pressure and kept the increased reach permanently. Additionally, the developers now assured players that they would also improve communication.
However, there has been relatively little evidence of this in Pokémon GO in recent weeks. Initially, there were regular short updates in the form of developer diaries that were supposed to give players some insight into Niantic’s work, but it has become quieter again. Schilling agrees.
He feels that with #HearUsNiantic, it was all just about the reach of PokéStops and gyms, and no one is talking about any other concessions anymore. One can read the following on Twitter:

Critique of the boxes: The lack of communication is not the only thing causing tension between the developers and the community. The constant, sometimes secretive changes in the game consistently frustrate players.
Besides the weekly box, which Niantic removed from the shop without any further statement, in recent days the contents of the other boxes have also been quietly changed, and interesting items like raid passes or incubators have been replaced with less interesting balls, making them no longer worth the investment in the eyes of many players.
Schilling also criticizes this and writes in his post:
Boxes switch anonymously multiple times a week between junk and trash, raid boxes are randomly removed right before raid days, treating paying customers as brazenly as lab rats, trying to mislead with bizarre prices.
What do other trainers say about it? The YouTuber is currently not alone in this opinion. A recent Reddit post by lewymd also addresses this topic and has received strong support within the community with currently over 3,200 upvotes (as of 23.09.2022 14:00).
He posts pictures of the current boxes, like the bronze box, through which trainers can acquire 20 Pokéballs, 10 Great Balls, 5 Ultra Balls, and a smoke for 150 coins, and writes (via reddit.com): “The latest boxes in Pokémon GO are bad for players, consumer unfriendly, and contradict Niantic’s own philosophy.”
Here too, the missing raid passes in the boxes, especially before the raid day with Deoxys that took place on Sunday, are heavily criticized.
Why does it contradict Niantic’s philosophy? Unlike other Pokémon games, Pokémon GO is intended to encourage trainers to go outside, explore their surroundings, and make new contacts.
For several months, Niantic has been attempting to reinforce this concept again, providing players with various features and bonuses, like the daily adventure smoke, to incentivize going outside. This way, players are also encouraged to raid on-site again.
At the same time, however, Niantic is removing the raid passes from the boxes, as well as from the adventure box, which previously contained many incubators, replacing them with items like balls, which can be obtained freely through numerous other means in the game.
Missing and delayed content in the game
Furthermore, Pokémon GO is currently struggling with several bugs, which Daniel Schilling also addresses in his Twitter post:

A decision by Blizzard regarding Overwatch 2 has leaked and has been upsetting fans for days: New heroes in Overwatch are no longer to be available for free and immediately to everyone but will be tied to specific conditions: Fans of the game are outraged. Some are already demanding their money back.
What principle are they breaking? The then-head of Overwatch, Jeff Kaplan, said in a 2015 video (via youtube):
We decided the best way to add [new heroes and maps] is to bring them into the game as free content and not as DLC.
Jeff Kaplan
And that is how it was all those years in Overwatch: When a new hero arrived, players could play and use them immediately. Everyone was equal and had access to the same heroes.
Because Overwatch uses a kind of “rock-paper-scissors” system and players can switch their heroes mid-match, this was an important point that set Overwatch apart from other games:
But to keep it fair, everyone needed access to all available heroes: Otherwise, you might as well have played rock-paper-scissors without scissors.

Overwatch 2 Trailer – Release Date Reveal
New heroes no longer accessible to everyone – players must earn them or buy
How is this principle now being broken? In Overwatch 2, players are to “earn” new heroes first: This was revealed by a mistake from Blizzard: For a brief time last week, one could catch a glimpse of a $40 package that mentioned a Battle Pass and exclusive skins.
The post included the sentence: “Those who own the Premium Battle Pass will gain automatic access to the new hero Kiriko.”
This means, by extension: Those who don’t have the pass apparently do not have access to the new hero. That is a break with the principle.
This is apparently how the model looks: Overwatch is apparently planning to bring a Battle Pass with 2 different “tracks”:
On one track, you can earn free things – including the new hero
However, those who pay and get the premium edition can unlock new heroes immediately
Players demand their money back
How is this being discussed? In the Overwatch community, the new development is viewed extremely critically. It is full of memes in which players express their protest:
There is a post on reddit where kids ask Tracer if they can also become heroes like her. But Tracer responds: “Um, no – you are too poor for that.”

Some of the currently biggest posts on reddit include user discussions where players are demanding refunds for Overwatch. This could still happen before the release, a user explains (via reddit).
Overwatch still has an “old” business model that is now changing
Why is this issue so annoying for many? The site PC Gamer explains: Overwatch comes from a time before the new business models took hold, which we know from games like Apex Legends or Valorant. In Overwatch, all content was freely accessible, only cosmetics could optionally be purchased through loot boxes.
And the game remained unchanged in monetization for 6 years: You bought the game and had access to everything: That was the deal Blizzard made with players.
The preparation for Overwatch 2 is simply not going well for Blizzard:

Now Blizzard is breaking this principle. In Overwatch, it is possible to switch your hero mid-game to respond to a situation – if you lack heroes for that, they apparently see it as a big problem.
It also fits with the “Blizzard is being greedy” narrative that many have in mind ever since Diablo Immortal when looking at new actions from Blizzard.
Overwatch 2 has already brought several disadvantages for Blizzard:
Nicholas “Nickmercs” Kolcheff was for a long time the biggest Twitch streamer in the cosmos of Call of Duty: Warzone. For over a year, he has only been playing the battle royale occasionally, but he recently played a round again. In doing so, he explained his impression of why Warzone has lost many streamers – it is too “demanding”.
Who is Nickmercs?
The streamer is among the biggest on Twitch. In his recent streams, he attracted an average of over 25,000 viewers to his channel, primarily playing Apex Legends (via twitchtracker.com). He is closely associated with the “FaZe Clan”.
Nickmercs is a strong shooter player, especially with the controller. Years ago, he was considered the best in the world in Fortnite with a controller. In addition to his pro gameplay, he possesses a laid-back humor and a positive demeanor, which brings him many fans.
With Warzone, he rose to become a top streamer, even managing to gather over 350,000 concurrent viewers in one stream. Now he only plays CoD occasionally and explains why many other streamers are experiencing the same.
By the way, the new Modern Warfare 2 is coming soon. Here’s a short trailer for the campaign:

Nickmercs thinks Warzone will go on bones
On September 12, Nickmercs released a YouTube video with one of his Warzone rounds. He was joined by TimTheTatman, the FaZe player Booya, and former CoD world champion TeeP.
In the middle of the match, he apparently realizes how much work Warzone demands from its players. Compared to the competition, Warzone is significantly “more demanding”, but not in terms of difficulty, rather in movement:
Let me tell you something, bro. Apex, CoD, Fortnite [in comparison] … This damn game [Warzone] is so demanding. You constantly have to crouch, slide, spam buttons.
The former league pro TeeP agrees: “Yeah, seriously”. The corresponding English video titled “Why Streamers are Leaving Warzone” we embed here:

The problem with constant inputs and demanding movement are actually injuries. Warzone requires players to make an extreme amount of inputs through actions like “Slide Cancel” or “Bunny Hopping”.
Injuries occur frequently, especially noticeable in the professional Call of Duty scene. In early 2021, pro player “ZooMaa” ended his career because his thumb and wrist could no longer handle the stress. ZooMaa ended his career at 25 after 8 years of daily training.
The strain is a serious issue for e-sports players. Due to the often young age of these players, the long-term effects of constant strain on their bones, joints, and muscles are underestimated. MOBAs like League of Legends also demand a lot from their players.
In an interview with the “Washington Post”, Chuck Tholl, a scientific researcher at the German Sports University Cologne, stated that professional players make up to 400 inputs in a minute.
He says: “Gamers perform micro-movements and fine motor skills that can seriously harm their bodies without preventive measures” (via washingtoinpost.com).
While there are already many teams in the professional scene that implement such preventive measures, it seems to be different for streamers. According to Nickmercs, there comes a point where you notice it and have to say goodbye.
Especially the “Slide Cancel” in Call of Duty puts pressure on the joints. You can practically perform it constantly, actually being slightly faster in CoD: Warzone with the trick and protecting yourself from headshots and targeted hits.
This very mechanic could actually be missing in the new Modern Warfare. There are rumors that the trick might completely disappear. The developers reportedly have the option to activate or remove the “Slide Cancel” from the game. However, these are currently just leaks.
By Friday, we’ll know for sure, as that’s when the Modern Warfare 2 Beta starts and many players will take their first rounds in the latest CoD.

A player of Escape from Tarkov wants his friends to be banned in the hardcore shooter and has good reasons for it.
Who is it about? In the subreddit for Escape from Tarkov, the reddit user ContributionAsleep69 has questioned the Tarkov community. The reason: He wants his friends to be banned in Escape from Tarkov.
What reasons does he have? ContributionAsleep69 wants his friends banned because they are cheating in the hardcore shooter. As the reddit user wrote, all his friends are cheating in Escape from Tarkov.
However, since discussing the banning of players violates a rule in the subreddit, the post was removed by the moderators. The title of the post “All my friends are cheating, how can I get them banned?” and the comments are still viewable (via reddit).

What do other players say about it? Many players suggested that he should report his friends directly in the game or through the launcher (via reddit). However, it is generally important that he has evidence that they are cheating (via reddit).
The reddit user Shawn_NYC additionally expressed the idea that ContributionAsleep69 could have his friends stream the cheats to him via Discord. He could record that and send it to the developers Battlestate Games as evidence for his report and his friends’ cheating.
Another reddit user responded that he tried this trick with his brother and that the developer studio had not banned him for over a year.

Reporting a cheater is an unwritten rule for fair gamers. However, Tarkov players have other unwritten rules, and some ensure that they shoot their teammates.
In the popular PS2 game Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, an extremely long boss fight almost sneaked in. The game’s director, Hideo Kojima, had a fancy idea that would have cost players two weeks of playtime. And we’re not talking about “in-game weeks”, but calendar weeks.
Who is Kojima? The well-known Japanese developer Hideo Kojima is famous for his unconventional ideas and distinctive style that is evident in the games he developed. His games from the Metal Gear series are considered legendary and milestones in game development.
However, some of Kojima’s creative impulses can be a bit too unconventional, such as one of his ideas for the game Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. The popular game was released in 2004 for the PS2 and takes place before the events of its predecessors.
Kojima had intended to incorporate a special fight into his game. Players would have struggled for almost 2 real weeks on a single boss fight if the developer had gotten his way. The original voice actor of Snake, David Hayter, talked about this in a video.
This is the boss fight in question: The setting of MGS3 is an alternate history during the 1960s, in the Cold War. Players take on the role of CIA agent Naked Snake, who must rescue a Russian scientist and destroy an experimental superweapon.
One of the boss fights in the game is against a rival agent named The End. He is a legendary sniper that players must find in a large area spanning three zones. They will be shot at repeatedly and must deduce his location based on clues such as footprints and the direction of darts from The End.
The End is a very old man and a sniper legend in MGS3.
The sniper duel was supposed to be as realistic as possible
Hayter describes: In a video from the gaming trivia channel “Did You Know Gaming” on YouTube, voice actor David Hayter told a story about how the fight against The End was originally supposed to last 2 weeks. It was meant to replicate the torturous, lengthy, deadly hide-and-seek game between snipers in the real world:
[…] During development, Kojima fell in love with the stories of author Stephen Hunter, whose books “The Master Sniper” and “Point of Impact” revolve around snipers in the mountains attempting to take each other out.
Kojima’s idea was for Snake’s fight against The End to be as close to a real sniper fight as possible. It was supposed to take place over a span of two real-time weeks.
David Hayter
Players would have to use their environment to stay hidden and quiet. At the same time, they would need to search for clues indicating where The End is hiding, to land the perfect sniper shot.
The developers in Kojima’s team had to read Hunter’s books to better visualize the fight between two snipers. Their boss even dragged them to the mountains to participate in “real training”.
The crazy part is that this boss fight actually made it to the prototype phase. At one point, it was truly part of the playable build. However, when it came to testing the fight, no one could locate the old man [The End]. Numerous players spent hours searching for The End and found nothing. […]
David Hayter
Kojima’s unconventional idea did not resonate with his colleagues. They found the fight to be incredibly boring and frustrating, as it blocked progress through the game. The team even booed the developer for it.

This is how it ended: Although the idea for the fight did not make it into the final game, traces of it can still be found in MGS 3. The boss fight against The End is a shorter version of Kojima’s idea and can be completed in different ways:
On one hand, you can find “The End” normally through clues.
On the other hand, you can also wait a week or set the system date forward by a week. Then The End’s shooting suddenly stops, and when you discover him, you find that he has died of old age.
A little wink that 2 weeks of playtime for a single boss fight is a bit too long.

Many players from the gaming community and fans of League of Legends are eagerly waiting for the MMORPG that Riot is developing for LoL. The head, Greg “Ghostcrawler” Street, gives a brief update. Street has ample experience with MMORPGs: he was the Lead Systems Designer for World of Warcraft for 5 years.
Since then, there has been intermittent information about it
On September 12, 2022, the head of the LoL MMORPG spoke about his responsibilities for this project and the current status of the MMORPG.
Yes, there will be LoL champions in the MMORPG, but they will be treated with respect
Who is speaking? The head of the LoL MMORPG is Greg “Ghostcrawler” Street. He was one of the most well-known employees of World of Warcraft from 2008 to 2013. There, he worked as a Lead System Designer and was always in touch with fans. When he joined Riot Games in 2014 as Lead Game Designer, it was big news in the gaming scene.
What does he say? In a series of tweets, Greg Street shares more about the creatures and the state of the game:
As the head of this MMO team, I don’t have much actual work related to creating things. One exception is that I do brainstorming and solve issues related to creatures, especially with creatures you fight against. That’s something I’ve done a lot. For work and also D&D, and I love it.
For me, it’s satisfying to think about these contents, what the creatures represent creatively and how they fight from a gameplay perspective. And then to integrate that meaningfully into a (fantasy) ecosystem.
I’m particularly careful not to dictate to the team that they have to use my ideas. I enjoy seeing which ideas excite them and which ideas don’t go anywhere.
Thanks to Legends of Runeterra, there are already a whole host of creatures in the world, but (we and other games!) will need many more.
Note: We adjusted an error and amended the “thanks” to Legends of Runeterra.
To this, users on Twitter asked him questions, some of which Ghostcrawler answered. One user asks if the bosses in dungeons could or will be champions. The user imagines fighting a huge Cho’Gath and it makes him curious.
“We want to treat the champions with a lot of respect,” explains Ghostcrawler. “I’m not saying you’ll never fight one of them. But we won’t just use them when we run out of ideas for bosses.”
A battle against Cho’Gath in the LoL MMORPG – Would you also like that?
How is the project doing right now? A user asked the MMORPG boss directly how the project is doing and whether the head has confidence in the project.
Ghostcrawler confidently responds and explains (via Twitter) “It’s going well and I have a LOT of confidence in it. The team does too.”
In recent months, a bit of information about the LoL MMORPG has come to light. The game is still in early development. Videos or screenshots are not being shared yet, and we’re not talking about an alpha yet.

That Sony will release a PS5 Slim is considered very likely. After all, this has always been the case with previous consoles in the series. Now, there are initial signs that this could possibly happen sooner than expected.
Eventually, Sony will launch a Slim version of the PS5. After all, every single PlayStation console has received a slimmed-down and smaller revision of the original model after a few years – a tradition that the Japanese manufacturer will certainly continue with the PS5.
Typically, these new models were always released about three years after the original console launched. Considering that the PlayStation 5 has now been on the market for nearly 2 years, a soon announcement seems plausible.
However, there are initial signs that some kind of “prototype” of the PS5 Slim might even be available right now.
Recently, Sony released the latest model of the PlayStation 5 “CFI-1200” in Australia and Japan. Such revisions of the original console are not unusual at first. Nevertheless, it is worth taking a closer look at the latest model – especially since it indeed provides initial hints of a PS5 Slim.
The latest model of the PS5 could be a “prototype” of the PS5 Slim
What distinguishes the latest revision from the older models? The most obvious difference from both the original model (CFI-1000) and the first revision of the console from last year (CFI-1100) is clearly the reduced weight. While the disc version of the console, released at launch, weighed a hefty 4.5 kg, Sony has now reduced the weight of the PS5 to only 3.9 kg. The fact that Sony is already slimming down its latest console is a good indicator of the release of a Slim variant in the not too distant future.
The reasons for the weight loss are primarily due to a smaller cooler, a significantly shorter board, and a much smaller motherboard. In the CFI-1200, the motherboard is indeed only half the size of that of the original model. To ensure that it remains well secured within the console, Sony has also modified the plastic case in the middle of the console, between the two side plates. Viewed this way, one could already consider building a Slim version of the PS5 around the now only half-sized motherboard.
Due to all these material savings, the latest revision of the PS5 has already become significantly cheaper to manufacture. At least, that’s what Tweaktown.com reports. Sony recently announced that they want to increase the price of the console:
Comparison of the internal components of the different PS5 models (Screenshot: PSReady YouTube-Channel)
Another highly interesting detail in this regard is that the APU of the new model of the PS5 has also been modified.
What is an APU? AnAPU is an Accelerated Processing Unit. It refers to a processor that has an integrated graphics chip and therefore does not require a separate graphics card. These are used in many office PCs and in gaming consoles like the PS5 or Xbox. The term “APU” is also coined by AMD. There are no “APUs” at Nvidia or Intel; a different term is used at Intel.
The revised APU of the CFI-1200 model consumes not only 20 watts less while gaming, but it also doesn’t get as hot – a problem that has occurred at Sony more frequently in the past. Thus, the reduced power consumption also explains why temperatures do not rise further despite the smaller cooler.
A lower power consumption has also always been the case with earlier slim versions. For example, the PS4 Slim consumes 165 W, the “normal” PS4 250 W, and the PS4 Pro consumes significantly the most power at 310 W.
Are there also factors that make the imminent release of a PS5 Slim unlikely? The switch to a completely new manufacturing process – especially in combination with supply difficulties due to the corona situation – currently seems fundamentally difficult to imagine.
However, Sony has already made significant changes to the design of the PS5 with the CFI-1200. So far, this mainly concerns the internal components of the console with the new and space-saving components. For that reason alone, one can indeed be optimistic that it won’t be too long before a visually smaller version of the console is also announced.
However, how many centimeters and grams Sony will ultimately take away from the polarizing design of the “largest ice cream cone in the world” is still completely open.
However, it is likely that the new design will not be too far from that of the previous models. It is conceivable, for example, that the stand of the console will not be necessary for a shorter Slim version. Just this change would make the console significantly more space-saving than the current PS5 model. This step would also make a lot of sense from a cost perspective.
By the way, a pro-controller for the PS5 was recently introduced by Sony:

Furthermore, the additional reduction of materials could significantly increase production capacities, allowing Sony to deliver even more consoles to the public.

27-year-old Dana “Danucd” Gard is a Twitch streamer known for showcasing PUBG: Battlegrounds. She is considered the best sniper in the online shooter: opponents often accuse her of cheating. In videos on TikTok, she reveals her secret: she is just good at math.
How did Danucd’s career on Twitch go? The streamer is 27 and lives in Riga, Latvia. She plays almost exclusively the battle royale shooter PUBG:
However, the problem was that PUBG has lost a lot of popularity since 2018 after streamers like DrDisrespect, shroud, and Summit1g left the game. In 2022, PUBG ranked only 30th among the most-watched Twitch games, with many of the viewers coming from Asia – in 2018, PUBG was still 4th.
Thus, Danucd’s Twitch career stagnated after the extremely steep rise in 2018: Over the following 4 years, she fluctuated between 1600 and 2000 average viewers.
Everything that makes PUBG: Battlegrounds special in 2 minutes
Sniper Videos Go Viral on TikTok
This is her breakthrough now: The streamer is making headlines with a series of “TikTok” videos. In the videos, she shows how she uses mathematics to successfully complete even extremely difficult kills:
She checks the map to see where her opponent is approximately located – apparently orienting herself to certain objects on the map to pinpoint the opponent
Then she estimates in her head how many meters away he is
Once she knows the distance, she can adjust her sniper rifle to calculate the bullet’s trajectory and take him down with a single shot.

One user explains it: “Hmm, opponents don’t move, and every mark in the scope represents 100 m. Using landmarks on the map that even show meters – ez!”
However, one TikTok user is put off: “Why play a game where you have to do math?”
A TikTok user sees her exact problem in the video: “I always guessed. Haha. Don’t make me try so hard. In the end, I’m dead.”
Another user regrets life choices: “My math teacher was right. I should have paid attention in class?”
In any case, the streamer is given much respect: “Is she the best female sniper or just the best sniper overall?”
TikTok proves to be an exciting medium for gaming streamers to reach new audiences – especially when one has the misfortune of playing a game that isn’t among the popular games on Twitch.
