On December 10, 2025, the content phase “The Thunder King” will launch in WoW: Mists of Pandaria Classic. Included: the new season for the Challenge Mode, the currency of Platinum Coins, and special rewards like a unique mount.
Which mount is it? It’s a gigantic, rideable rooster that you can summon using the item “Magic Rooster Egg”. This epic mount was once introduced with the “Fields of Honor” expansion in the trading card game of World of Warcraft. Additionally, it comes with an unlock code for World of Warcraft.
You cannot simply obtain the “Magic Rooster Egg” by playing but had to draw it from one of the card boosters or acquire it through trade or purchase. The mount is considered rare. Its value is currently listed at wowtcgloot.com at 3,695 US dollars.

Anyone who has ever wanted to ride a rooster…
How can you earn the rooster? However, the price is likely to drop significantly soon. When the content update “The Thunder King” goes live on the servers of WoW: Mists of Pandaria Classic on December 10, there will be a possibility to earn the mount easily.
According to a screenshot from a player on X, the “Magic Rooster Egg” is one of the rewards you can earn in the second season of the Challenge Mode. For this, you need 50 units of the new currency, Platinum Coins. On blizzard.com, the WoW developers describe the currency as follows:
Platinum Coins
Starting with the content update The Thunder King, the Challenge Master achievements will grant Platinum Coins – a new currency with which champions can purchase some new transmog items, toys, mounts, and tabards available in the Shrine of Two Moons and the Shrine of Seven Stars. Additionally, all timed Platinum runs grant an extra Platinum Coin.
Other rewards shown in the screenshot include various versions of the Pandaren Phoenix mount.
What else comes with the update? The Thunder King also brings the popular raid among many veterans, “Throne of Thunder”, the continuation of the legendary questline surrounding Garrosh, the Isle of Thunder, the Isle of Giants, and the two world bosses Nalak and Oondasta.
Finally, a little trivia reminder about Mists of Pandaria: When Chris Metzen announced the Asian-inspired expansion of World of Warcraft at BlizzCon 2011, many MMORPG fans were left in disbelief. One reason was the new playable race. More on that can be found here: There was a time when (almost) all WoW players hated the Pandaren

The Witcher 4 is currently in production. The development team at CD Projekt Red is confident that they can release all three parts of the trilogy in quick succession.
What does the team aim to achieve? During a meeting to present the financial results from the third quarter (available as PDF) of 2025, Michał Nowakowski discussed the current status of projects at CD Projekt Red. The Witcher 4 and the rest of the planned trilogy were also mentioned.
Currently, The Witcher 4 is said to be in the “Full-Scale” production phase. At this point, he could not provide details about the game’s development process. All that is known is that the next installment with protagonist Ciri will not be released in 2026.
However, the development seems to be progressing well enough that the team is confident they can deliver the next games in a shorter timeframe. The developers plan to release The Witcher 5 and 6 within six years after the release of part 4.
This means that The Witcher 6 could be released as early as 2033 if The Witcher 4 celebrates its release in 2027. According to the developers, an important tool is essential for this success.

The tech demo of The Witcher 4 provides insights into the technology of the new game by CD Projekt Red
Developers have become faster with a tool
How do they want to achieve the goal? The reason for this ambitious plan is the Unreal Engine 5. The tool is used to complete the game and has already impressed with a tech demo. The team clarified that the actual game would not look like this demo, but development should progress much faster:
We are satisfied with the development of the engine through the efforts of the Epic team and how we are learning to implement it in a massive open-world game like The Witcher 4. In a way, I do believe that further games should be released in a shorter time.
Thus, there should be a shorter time span between parts 4 and 5, as well as between parts 5 and 6. The team has been working with the engine for four years and is excited about what they have achieved so far.
Whether the plan will ultimately work out remains to be seen. After all, game development increasingly takes longer. Ambitious AAA productions are typically no longer completed in 2 or 3 years, but rather in over 6 years.
Accordingly, it would be remarkable if the entire Witcher trilogy were to be released within 6 years. Especially since CD Projekt wants to avoid a catastrophic launch like that of Cyberpunk 2077. Therefore, they have also lowered the expectations slightly regarding the graphics.
Since the release of Diablo 4, fans have been demanding the Paladin as a new class, and so far they have been disappointed. Everything in the story indicates that the holy warriors must be part of the game. MeinMMO explains what the light warriors are all about.
When Blizzard announced that Diablo 4 would return “back to its roots,” many fans hoped for the return of old classes. And at first, it looked good: with the Druid and the Necromancer, two classes from Diablo 2 are represented – Barbarian, Rogue, and Sorceress are even older, originating from part 1 and the Hellfire expansion.
However, one class is notably missing for veterans: the Paladin as the hero with sword and shield, who would also fill the role of holy magic. Since the release of the game, the community has been demanding that Paladins finally come into the game.
And that is understandable, as the entire story of Diablo 4 revolves around Lilith and Inarius. The faith of the light is constantly in focus – only without its most prominent representatives. Paladins play an important role in the game’s story.

Holy Warriors and the Military Arm of the Church of the Light
Who are Paladins actually? In short, the order consists of well-trained soldiers who can wield holy magic. They serve the Church of the Light, also known as the Zakarum faith, as a fighting department. Essentially the church’s army, whose main task is to destroy the Great Evils of Hell.
They receive their magic from the High Heavens, the place where the angels live and which is in eternal conflict with the Burning Hells. The ability to cast spells comes from their unwavering faith, which is why Paladins are also called “Knights of Faith.”
The faith itself traces back to Akarat, an ascetic from the north of Sanctuary. Akarat received a heavenly revelation, the concept of “Zakara”: Every person carries a part of the light within them. Through meditation, prayer, and morality, this light can be nurtured to dispel darkness.
Accordingly, Paladins lead an orderly life with many rules and virtues. They must not succumb to worldly temptations (often in the form of disguised demons). As a sign of their dedication, they also consecrate their weapons with their own blood.
However, the way of life, and especially the attitude of the church itself, has led to fanaticism arising from strict faith, and Paladins have split into various orders – not all of which are friendly.
Crusaders, Protectors, and Paladins of Hell
Originally, Paladins were supposed to accompany missionary protectors to the west of Sanctuary to spread the faith there. However, their miracles were better received by the wild population than their words, making them soon the “Protectors of the Word.” From here, Paladins evolved in different directions:
The church later transformed its warriors into Inquisitors, the “Hand of Zakarum,” who no longer protect, but burn entire villages at the suspicion of heresy – along with all innocents.
Those Paladins who disagreed with this path broke away and migrated west. Under Rakkas, they founded the Westmark and eventually the Knights of Westmark, more a protective army than warriors of faith.
About the same time, under Akkhan in the east, the order of Crusaders formed, a secret organization that was supposed to “save” the church from within. Unlike the Paladins accustomed to structure and hierarchy, Crusaders are more like “one-man armies.”
By the way: Crusaders are essentially “immortal.” A Crusader has exactly one apprentice who takes on the armor, weapons, and name of the knight should the latter fall. Thus, the legend continues.
Templars, whom you may know from Diablo 3, are likely a successor order of the former Inquisitors, which is less brutal but equally fanatical. The Knights of Repenance from Diablo 4 are also “holy” warriors, but strictly speaking, they are not Paladins. They serve Inarius personally, not the Zakarum faith in general.
However, there are fallen Paladins who have succumbed to the temptations of hell. They still wield the same spells, only in an “evil” form – a sign that their conviction is responsible for their powers and not a higher power.
Paladins Today: An Order of Little Significance …?
The fact that you encounter few or no Paladins, Crusaders, etc. in Diablo 4 is due to their near extinction. Many orders have simply disappeared, or their members have scattered, becoming mercenaries or soldiers. There are primarily two reasons for this:
Malthael wiped out most of humanity, especially the Knights of Westmark, who primarily fought against the angel in a desperate final battle.
The Crusaders are the last order that still somewhat exists. However, they are already few in number by nature, and even further decimated by the events in Diablo 4 (thanks, Neyrelle). Throughout the story, you help the Crusaders – and here we are right in the narrative.
Since a new update, Where Winds Meet evaluates the strength of your character with a new metric that resembles the horsepower (HP) of cars, only in a fun way.
What is this metric? Since launch, Where Winds Meet has indicated the strength of your build with a kind of gear score, reflecting your equipment, skills, arsenal collection, and upgrades. With a new update, the developers have added this value, alongside a second value: Geese.
This number is supposed to tell you how many geese your character can likely take on with their current build. The author’s alter ego currently has a gear score of 10,464 and a goose value of 1,047, meaning: They would probably survive a fight against a goose.

You are something special, Goose
Why geese? The new goose power reminds of the horsepower (HP) of cars. However, it’s a gag from the developers because the geese from Where Winds Meet have become a popular meme since launch.
You can also make use of the geese’s fighting power and summon a gigantic goose as a companion in certain fights (Source: YouTube). Or you learn the mythical martial arts skill Goose Terror, which causes high area damage through a honking attack.
In the shop, you can find the Weißbrauengans as a mount, which you can ride … um … balance on, and which can be upgraded so that 5 geese accompany you on your travels. And on the official Discord channel, the developers communicate with their Goose Overlord with the community.
What does the future bring? The current season 1 of Where Winds Meet lasts until February 5, 2026. What comes next is hinted at by the Chinese version of the game, which has been out for almost a year and features more regions, story acts, and challenges. You can find an overview of the differences between the versions here: Where Winds Meet has significantly more content in China, the timeline shows what we can look forward to soon

Rogue Trader is currently the only role-playing game for Warhammer 40,000 on Steam. MeinMMO editor and Warhammer expert Benedict Grothaus has attempted a new run and discovered a new option that quickly hit him in the face, with force and twice.
No universe can convey dark dystopias as well as Warhammer, especially Warhammer 40,000. Here there are no “good” guys, everyone is evil in their own way, and you mostly choose the lesser evil, usually just the coolest models and weapons. This world has fascinated me since my youth.
Accordingly, I devoured Rogue Trader right at release; my name can even be found in the game because I purchased the expensive Kickstarter edition back then. Rogue Trader conveys the atmosphere of the world superbly and for that alone I love the game.
Of course, I have completed it as well, my first time with the sobering realization, that there are no happy endings in Warhammer. The second time, I played as a heretic, just to let loose.
Now Owlcat, the creators, have released a new update, and many fans have taken this as an opportunity to take another look at the game. Including me, but as proud as I am, I thought: A little challenge can’t hurt. Spoiler: Yes, it can.
“Grim Darkness” means my… useless NPCs cost me my run in less than 15 minutes
Rogue Trader offers, like many role-playing games, various difficulty levels from: “I just want to experience the story” to: “I want to barely survive every fight, even if I play perfectly.”
There is also an additional selection, the “Grim Darkness” mode. It is like the Honour Mode in Baldur’s Gate 3 or generally like Ironman modes in many other games: There is only one save file, I cannot reload, and if the party is wiped out, the game is over.
Cool, I thought. I had just completed Baldur’s Gate 3 in Honour Mode and the difficulty there with many more boss abilities can’t be worse than Rogue Trader on “hard” (the second highest difficulty) and “Grim Darkness.”
A brief explanation: In Rogue Trader, you play a rogue trader, one of the most powerful nobles of the empire. At first, you are guided through the ship that you will later take over, and some fights and conversations introduce you to the mechanics.
My first attempt failed right at the first fight, where there was only a single (!) enemy present, the second in the second fight just a few minutes later. Both times I was one-shotted by a weak enemy. But that’s not my fault, honestly! It was the NPCs!
They stand beside or behind their troops and execute anyone who is not brave enough to die in the face of the enemy. Should doubts about morality arise, they can even remove an officer from command and take leadership themselves. Among ordinary people, there are hardly any who are as tough as these guys.
In Rogue Trader, this means that I actually do little myself, but rather “motivate” the other members of my team by shooting them in the back with my las-pistol.
The only problem is that during the tutorial, only NPCs are around, who are not my “companions”, but just NPCs, and in one case, even do absolutely nothing (why will be explained later in the tutorial).
But since I am only armed with a crappy gun and have no combat skills, even weak enemies are a challenge. If you also directly take crits from the enemies and are the only character in the team… that’s just the end.
Revenge will come as soon as I get to be an Inquisitor
I will take another look at the “Grim Darkness” mode someday, just because I want to achieve success and brag about it. Whether that will happen anytime soon, I don’t know yet, because shortly a new RPG about Warhammer 40,000 will launch with Dark Heresy.
On December 16, 2025, a first alpha test will take place, and I have been looking forward to this game since its announcement. Because in Dark Heresy, I play not just a rogue trader, but an Inquisitor – part of the most dangerous organization in the empire.
The Anime “This Monster Wants to Eat Me” is a real hidden gem. However, one must have a penchant for dark themes.
Note: The article and the discussed anime deal with themes such as suicide and depression. If dark thoughts plague you: You are not alone. Please seek help. For example, from the telephone counseling service at 0800/111 0 111 or the online counseling, where you can also use a chat. It is free and applies nationwide.
No matter how you look at it, the current anime season is rather disappointing. Especially the new season of One-Punch Man is under fire, so at least I have taken a broader look at what else is out there.
So I clicked through the trailers of the current season on Crunchyroll and my Yuri heart was immediately distracted by “This Monster Wants to Eat Me”. But at that time, I didn’t yet know what kind of dark story awaited me.
Select a MMO video…
A young woman who wants to be eaten
Hinako Yaotose is the sole survivor of a car accident that claimed the lives of her parents and brother many years ago. When the car veered off the road, Hinako was thrown out of the window and had to watch her family sink in the burning car in the sea.
Since then, Hinako longs for her own death. However, she does not consider direct suicide. Because when she tried, she heard a voice asking her to stay alive. But this voice is a torment for Hinako, just like her entire life. She wishes for an end, and if she cannot end it herself, then some force, some misfortune or attack should ensure that she dies, because she would not resist it.
A wish that seems unexpectedly to come true one day. Because while walking along a canal, Hinako is attacked by a monstrous creature from the water, which threatens to devour her. She surrenders to the being but is saved by a second figure that brutally tears the attacker apart.
At first glance, the relationship may seem loving – but one is just a snack for the other.
This second being is Shiori, and she turns out to be a mermaid. However, her human form is merely a disguise. In truth, she is a massive, gluttonous monster with only one thing on her mind: to devour particularly appetizing humans. Her current prey: Hinako.
Hinako sees in this her possible “salvation”: if she is devoured by the mermaid, her life would finally come to an end, and she would find the death she has long wished for.
Shiori promises her that she will kill and eat her in the end. But before that can happen, one thing must change: Hinako must be “ripe” so that she “tastes right,” and according to Shiori, this can only happen if she regains her will to live and her joy of life.
And yes, you understand exactly right. The dark premise of the anime: the death-thirsty Hinako will only find her guaranteed death when she no longer desires it and is freed from those thoughts.
The beautiful Shiori actually looks quite different – and is just waiting to finally be able to devour someone.
Gruesome beauty in the portrayal of despair
This not only reads harshly but is also impressively shown in the series time and again. The depressive thoughts, the feeling of numbness, and the longing for death are usually depicted in such a way that Hinako suddenly finds herself in the depths of the sea, surrounded only by muffling water and the soft rustle. The oppression and hopelessness are more than palpable in every episode.
That the abandoned Hinako is so convincingly desperate also lies in the brilliant voice actress. This is indeed Reina Ueda, who already voiced the protagonist Miyo Saimori in “My Happy Marriage” – if you know the anime, you know how incredibly desperate and broken a voice can sound.
Hinako’s life is supposed to find an end – if only someone would fulfill that wish.
This portrayal of despair has a certain ethereal beauty that is hard to put into words and even harder to escape from.
Yes, sure: “This Monster Wants to Eat Me” also has some funny or even silly passages that sometimes serve as a relief. You might find these scenes a bit out of place, but I believe that without them, the series would really be too dark, so I can manage with it so far.
Since the series is not yet complete and I did not want to be spoiled, I haven’t looked at the manga, so I cannot say anything about whether the story has a happy ending or ends in pure despair. I really cannot foresee whether the series ends positively or with one or even multiple deaths. I am prepared for both.
After she decided as a child actor that she wanted to become an actress, she not only succeeded in winning one of the most important awards in gaming through her work. She is also part of the most famous streaming group for Dungeons & Dragons and excites fans worldwide.
Who is this actress? We are talking about actress and voice actress Laura Bailey, who, together with her husband Travis Willingham and her friends, consisting of Matt Mercer and other famous voice actors, forms the streaming group Critical Role.
While the group has been streaming their campaigns on Twitch and other platforms for 10 years, they have built an enormous fanbase. For this, they go on a worldwide arena tour to perform their campaigns live in front of an audience – even for the first time in Germany in July 2026.
Laura Bailey is a member of Critical Role, known not only for her D&D characters like Vex’ahlia or Jester. She is also recognized for many other roles in gaming and series, such as Jaina from World of Warcraft, Gwen Stacy from the Marvel’s Spider-Man series, or anime like Dragon Ball Z, Fullmetal Alchemist, or Soul Eater.
Through her role as Abby in The Last of Us 2, the actress not only received a BAFTA, but also won the award for “Best Performance” at the Game Awards 2020.
But all of this only started because she was able to identify with the experience of another actress during her school years, which made her realize that she wanted to turn her love for theater and acting into her profession.
Here you can see the trailer for The Mighty Nein on Amazon Prime, in which Laura Bailey once again takes on the role of the blue tiefling named Jester:

An inspiration turned a student’s dream into a goal
In an interview between Laura Bailey and Critical Role colleague Matt Mercer on YouTube, she talks about the reason she wanted to become an actress at all. She recounts that she was quite shy as a child, but still auditioned and acted in plays during her school years. Back then, she saw an interview with Katie Holmes, who was around the same age as young Laura and also started acting during her school years.
This was the first conscious moment for Laura when she realized that someone like her could succeed – and why shouldn’t she give it a try?
During a college performance a few years later, Laura was discovered by the voice actor Kent Williams, who voiced characters in various anime, including Dragon Ball. He invited her to an audition while the studio was working on Dragon Ball Z, landing her first role as the young Trunks.
For a while, Laura tried to continue her studies while working at her new job, but eventually dropped out on the advice of her professor, as she had already made her entry into the industry. From that point on, she should focus entirely on her work as a voice actress.
Even a big award is not more important than the famous “Thursday night”
In 2020, the sequel to the blockbuster “The Last of Us” by Naughty Dog was released, in which Laura Bailey played the antagonist and also protagonist Abby alongside her Critical Role colleague Ashley Johnson as Ellie. Due to the controversial actions of her character in the game and a wave of angry hate messages from “hurt” and angry “fans,” the actress had a difficult time.
Nevertheless, her acting performance was seen and recognized, which is why she was not only nominated for a Game Award but also awarded for “Best Performance.”
I fell in love with Joel and Ellie, so it doesn’t surprise me that Abby’s role in this story caused such intense reactions. But the fact that I got to play such a fantastically challenging character, one that allows the player to find forgiveness and empathy through her story, is something I will be forever grateful for.
– Laura Bailey in her acceptance speech at the Game Awards 2020 (Source: YouTube)
What many regular viewers of the Game Awards at the time did not notice: During the awards show, there was none other than her beloved blue tiefling in her mind, since the Game Awards took place on the very day of the week that is usually reserved for something entirely different. The famous Thursday night is always a Critical Role night … and she wouldn’t let an event like the Game Awards take that away from her and promptly made her way to the studio right after her speech.
In this video on YouTube, you can see how Laura Bailey chooses her priorities:

Even 5 years later, Thursday night is still the sacred date for many Critters, where Critical Role broadcasts their current campaign live. Laura Bailey can be seen in the current fourth campaign alongside familiar faces as well as new ones, as Pixie Thimble.
Currently, the second campaign of Critical Role is also running as an animated series on Amazon Prime. In “The Mighty Nein,” Laura Bailey plays the aforementioned tiefling Jester, a cleric who could be described as the heart of the group. Autumn 2025 has offered a lot for shooter fans. There was something for everyone, whether PvE, PvP, or a mix of both. But which game is the best that has been released in the past few months?
How was the ranking created? MeinMMO’s shooter expert Dariusz Müller has reviewed which multiplayer shooters have been released in the past few months and ranks them based on the quality delivered. There were strong highlights, but also some downs.
However, only the biggest and most prestigious releases that have been publicly discussed are rated. Indie games with only a few active players are not part of the rankings – not because they don’t deserve it, but because Dariusz didn’t have the chance to test the comparatively small titles due to the tight release schedule.
What period is meant? Since there are different ways to define the beginning and end of autumn, here it is short and sweet: Games that were released between September 1 and November 30, 2025, are taken into account, corresponding to meteorological autumn.
Rank 5: Escape from Tarkov

Escape from Tarkov zeigt das Gameplay zum 1.0-Release im Trailer
What kind of game is this? Escape from Tarkov is an extraction shooter that most genre fans should know. The game relies on challenging hardcore gameplay and realism. After a decade in early access, the long-awaited full release was on November 15, 2025.
Why this rank? The full release of the extraction shooter can best be described with one word: underwhelming. Don’t get me wrong, the 1.0 version does have some really good aspects, for example:
There is now a tutorial mission that introduces new players to the game mechanics – this was desperately needed.
The game now features a non-linear story, short cutscenes, and dialogues. This makes it feel more like a real game outside of a raid.
You can now play a character that will not be wiped.
There are new weapons, attachments, and QoL improvements.
If you enjoyed playing Escape from Tarkov before the full release, you will still have fun with the shooter now. However, it also has its downsides and suffers from some of the same issues as before the 1.0 version.
The performance is really poor and the graphics, which you might have to reduce for acceptable FPS, are also far from modern. In addition, there are numerous bugs, server issues, cheaters, and the recurring desync theme.
On the technical side, Escape from Tarkov remains a nightmare and is far from what I expect from a 50€ game in 2025. Although other games on the list also struggle with performance, bugs, desync, and server stability, Tarkov is hit hardest in this aspect.

Players of Pokémon GO love to showcase their special catches to the rest of the community. This was also the case for a trainer who had been searching for a specific Pokémon for years – but his choice of Pokéball has sparked discussion.
Which Pokémon did the trainer catch? Trainer No-Weight3538 presented a catch on Reddit that is of great significance to the player. For four years, he searched for a Shiny Paragoni and finally found it – and for this reason, he unapologetically dedicated the game’s strongest Pokéball to the little tree: the Master Ball.
Within a few days, the trainer received over 6,000 upvotes (as of November 29, 2025, 1:30 PM) in the subreddit where many catches are shared, as well as hundreds of comments in response to this decision. The Master Ball is not only super strong and catches any Pokémon without letting it escape – it is also very rare.
And that exactly is a topic of conversation in a community that has very passionate feelings about the use and potential waste of such a powerful Pokéball.

Pokémon GO shows its new season in the trailer
The community is ready to make an exception
What does the community say about the player’s catch? The often-represented opinion that the Master Ball should be used specifically for rare legendary Pokémon is also noted in this Reddit thread:
“I’m fascinated by what people use their Master Balls for,” writes onedge_rt, and funkytallguy also has a strong opinion on the use of this ball: “The Galar birds are the only ones worth using it on. Maybe also for a perfect raid monster, but personally, I’ve used them all for the birds.”
However, the majority of players feel that Shiny Paragoni is just too cool not to dedicate a Master Ball to it, no matter how “wasteful” that may seem:
“Ultimately, it’s a cool ball that can just as well be used for a Pokémon you like. Personally, I’d prefer a more unique monster than one that serves the same purpose as most others.” (DinnersReadyx)
“I appreciate your commitment” (-WasGuddy-)
“I love seeing this! I regret every day that I didn’t use a Master Ball on a Galar Articuno during my trip to Iceland last week. If you’re happy with your catch, there’s nothing to regret!” (bubble_baby_8)
Additionally, the trainer who caught the Shiny Paragoni has reassuring words for those who are horrified by the use of the Master Ball: “I have two more, so no big deal.”
Was his catch worth using in battles? As a fighter, the trainer’s beloved Shiny Paragoni is unfortunately not very strong. However, its evolution Trombork could perform well in Raids and the GO Battle League.
The trainer, however, seems quite indifferent to the potential of his favorite. He states that he doesn’t plan to evolve his Paragoni: “I will keep it as a baby and accompany its restless soul around the world.”
The modding communities of various games have often proven what they can achieve. One group has developed a mod for a popular Total War on Steam that allows you to play in Middle-earth and will soon let you experience a campaign.
What kind of mod is this? We are talking about the mod “The Dawnless Days”. Formerly known as “Rise of Mordor,” it is an extensive modification for the strategy game Total War: Attila.
With this mod, the team, which consists entirely of fans managing the project in their free time, aimed to make the world of The Lord of the Rings playable and transfer it to the Total War engine. The mod has existed since 2015, shortly after the release of Total War: Attila, and has been continuously expanded over the years.
Currently, it can only be played in custom battle mode. But that is set to change soon. Starting from December 12, 2025, the beta for the own campaign is supposed to start. However, it will initially take place on a smaller map and will be expanded and added to in the long term. The story will take place during the great wars in the last years of the saga and will be oriented towards the books.
You can get a first impression of the campaign in the trailer:

A mod to rule them all …
What does the mod do exactly? If you install the mod, which you can find on nexusmods.com and own Total War: Attila, you can use it to transport the game to Middle-earth in custom battles. It significantly alters the game’s content, so the entire map, all buildings and units, and even the soundtrack will appear in the guise of The Lord of the Rings.
You can find an overview of all playable factions, units, and their armors in the official Trello of the modders. In their development, they place a strong focus on attention to detail and adhere strictly to the established lore of J.R.R. Tolkien’s universe.
On the map, you will also find well-known places like Edoras, Erebor, or Minas Tirith. The armors and units are based on Tolkien’s descriptions and the portrayal of the beloved film series.
Both the map and the units have been completely “newly created” and not just overlaid as textures on already existing models. So, you can play on a completely geographically accurate map of Middle-earth and fight Orcs.
A player proudly presents their playtime in Baldur’s Gate 3, but a completely different fact overwhelms the community, leaving them unsure whether to be incredulous or impressed.
What did the player confess? Player Corral18 reveals to the Baldur’s Gate 3 community on Reddit that he has amassed an impressive, almost frightening playtime of over 1,200 hours in the game. Yet despite the playtime, during which many others could have completed multiple runs, the player admits that he has not yet managed to finish Baldur’s Gate 3 even once.
He has only reached the third act of the game in 2 instances, which (as many players already know) is the significantly largest act in Baldur’s Gate 3. Act 3 is so large and full of content that many players sometimes feel overwhelmed by the flood of possibilities.
On other occasions, Corral18 has not progressed beyond the second act, but he is aware that it is his own fault.

Player finds their personal final boss, who appears sooner than expected
Why doesn’t the player progress despite such playtime? In response to a player’s question about how one can spend 1,200 hours in Baldur’s Gate 3 without completing it at least once, Corral18 admits that he is responsible for his play style. This is mainly due to the fact that he has downloaded too many mods for Baldur’s Gate 3.
Due to mods, he spends not only at least an hour in the Character Creator with every new character – other gameplay mods are also to blame for his immense playtime and constant restarts.
The player also understands that besides the variety of mods, another thing will also not provide salvation: “Maybe my ADHD isn’t exactly helpful.”
While some players absolutely cannot comprehend not being able to reach the end of Baldur’s Gate 3 even once, others can understand the player’s frustration and problem:
“Act 3 is honestly overwhelming. I personally played through it and am glad I did, but I remember that when I reached Act 3, I literally took several weeks off because I felt paralyzed – just overwhelmed” (Dessendre on Reddit).
What could help the player in their situation? A suggestion from some players under Corral18’s Reddit post is that he should give the Honour Mode a chance to stay motivated until he has mastered the challenge at the end.
But even this mode is part of the problem of why the player had to start over repeatedly – because after 500 hours, he has indeed played with this difficulty every time. Unfortunately, he has been overwhelmed by various nasty surprises and has – as the mode actually requires – honorably deleted his save file after a TPK (Total Party Kill) … and restarted.
Even if the player has never made it to the end of Baldur’s Gate 3, that should be perfectly okay. The 1,200 hours prove that the player is having a good time with the RPG despite the many beginnings. Another player shows that the end of the game doesn’t necessarily have to happen in Act 3, and not as a Game Over: Player never sees Act 3 because they finished Baldur’s Gate 3 in Act 2 due to a silly mistake

Since the beta, the developers of Battlefield 6 have been rigorously fighting against cheaters. Now they are showing what they have achieved, and the community is celebrating with them.
What success have the developers achieved? In a new blog post, the developer team of Battlefield 6 gives a first positive report regarding the start of Season 1 and the introduced anti-cheat measures. The new kernel-level anti-cheat system Javelin and the mandatory implementation of Secure Boot show a significant effect, according to the report.
According to EA, around 98% of all matches in the first week after launch were fair and without cheaters, which corresponds to a match infection rate (MIR) of only 2%. During the beta phases in August 2025 and after the release, millions of cheat attempts could already be blocked and tens of thousands of accounts banned. It is said that already 1.2 million attempts were thwarted during the beta alone.
However, EA emphasizes that the fight against cheaters is an ongoing process and announces further tightening, especially against hardware cheats and through improved reporting systems. This approach is well received in the community, even though the measures have cost them some nerves and they initially felt that the strong protection would not help.

What does the community say about the success? On Reddit, players are discussing EA’s report. With around 166 comments, they celebrate that the developers are not only making life difficult for cheaters with the measures, but according to the report, they are also bearing significant fruit and ensuring that fair players can enjoy their gameplay as undisturbed as possible.
redbirdRS expresses gratitude and celebrates with: “They really nailed it, and I am very thankful for that. Cheaters have made me quit before, but honestly, I haven’t noticed a single one in this game. Really excellently done.”
fidgeter is pleased: “I’m very happy about this! I report people as soon as I see them, and I’m not always sure if they’re cheating, but I think I can report it and let them figure it out themselves. I really appreciate the efforts against cheating. Cheating in online games is a plague in our community.”
xSociety goes even further and highlights that games like Call of Duty should learn from this: “This is absolutely industry-leading! Please share your developer knowledge with Respawn, they desperately need it.”
In the Chinese Where Winds Meet, a plethora of fighters gathered for a raid recently, crashing the content. However, this was not planned, and players already see the potential in it.
How did the groups get into the raid? A post by @deweibs on x.com shows a screenshot of Where Winds Meet in the Chinese version, featuring numerous players engaged in a raid. However, this content is actually designed for 10 players.
The image shows a load of players who shouldn’t be there. The reason for this is probably a bug that caused all groups that had just signed up for the content to be forced into the same instance.
Source: @deweibs via x.com (as of November 29, 2025, 9:15 AM)
It is unclear whether the content was still playable or how it resolved. According to @deweibs, however, the players took it with humor and joked in the chat: “With so many people, we could probably kill the boss if everyone just stomped once.”
The community is also responding positively to this bug, and many see further potential in the mass of players in a single piece of content.

“This gives the developers even more ideas.”
What potential do the users see? With over 4,900 likes, around 426 reposts, and 26 comments, the post is quite popular. In the comments, many celebrate the bug and joke about how powerful such a collection of brave warriors could be and what potential lies in it.
@lumiscera envisions the future: “This gives the developers even more ideas.”
@azazel021 agrees: “Imagine if they made this a feature and introduced 100-man raids or perhaps even a world boss raid.”
@kevareer jokes: “If you remove everyone’s clothes, the frame rate increases by at least 30 frames per second.”
@ooobbbaaayyy chimes in: “WWM is not an MMORPG, they said.”
@SentiNel090 wishes they could have been there: “You call it a bug, I call it an unintended feature. Looks like chaotic fun!”
@demi_raz draws a comparison to the 24-player raids in the MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV, where fighters form into 3 groups for an alliance and face multiple bosses in instanced content.
@MOGameReviews also points out that the developers could see that the game can handle instances with many players and see potential for a mass raid within it. He would also be happy if such a feature made its way into the game in the future.
A gamer and guest of a motel took his PS5 to his room to play a few rounds of ARC Raiders. However, the relaxed evening took an unexpected turn when the police suddenly stood at his door.
What happened to the player in the motel? The player YoMopho shared in a post on Reddit that he had to spend a night in a motel and hooked up his PS5 to pass the time with ARC Raiders. However, his relaxed gaming was interrupted when suddenly the police stood at his door.
According to the player’s report, a neighbor called the police out of concern for his well-being. He apparently made comments in the voice chat that sounded too realistic, which could be heard through the motel walls and, as an unaware guest, could be assessed as a concerning situation, prompting the police to pay him a visit to check on things.
Other Reddit users can’t believe the player and think he made up the story for Reddit karma. However, GamesRadar+ came across the story and contacted the local police department, which eventually confirmed the incident on the night of November 27, 2025. They indeed received such a tip, which matched YoMopho’s report.

ARC Raiders zeigt im Launch-Trailer, wie der Kampf Mensch gegen Maschine aussieht
The Raider was not the only one who took his role-playing too seriously
What disturbed his neighbors? The player does not know exactly what statement disturbed the neighbors so much. However, he recalls his situations in the game and starts to piece together how he reported in his post on Reddit:
On the way back to the extraction point, he was hit by a rocket launcher and then shouted for help, as he saw another Raider at the said location: “Hiiielp, I’m done, please help me, I got shot, please help me up!”
However, when the other Raider fled out of fear of the rocket launcher, the player died and let out a dying scream that matched his in-game death.
“And I think then they called the police.”
How did the police respond to the truth behind the screams? When asked by a player how the police reacted to this story, YoMopho explains that the officers were quite relaxed after seeing the PS5 and headset in the room.
Apparently, such situations are not an isolated case, as other players from the community report:
“We had this problem back in the late 90s and early 2000s when Counter-Strike players were constantly talking about planting and defusing bombs,” explains chronicnerv, and Firm-Ad3970 also describes that he once called the police when he suspected something terrible: “I’m ashamed to say that I once called the police because I heard my neighbor yelling. I didn’t know he was just gaming, and thought he had killed his girlfriend.”
However, others in the community emphasize that it was still the right thing to do. As soon as something sounds suspiciously dangerous, caution is better than regret, as EngineersMasterPlan points out: “Don’t worry. If someone gets so worked up about a video game that the police have to be called due to a suspected murder, then that person somehow deserved the reality check.”
Annoyed guests, burnt food, and financial difficulties – that sounds pretty stressful. Nevertheless, MeinMMO author Linda Baumgartl has fallen in love with a restaurant game where you have to face all these challenges. And no, it’s not Overcooked.
What could be more relaxing than being besieged by virtual hordes of hungry guests after work? At the same time, you risk your non-virtual friendships because someone once again didn’t clean the floor properly and now doesn’t want to admit it. What’s that all about?
Okay, maybe it’s not really relaxing. But it’s certainly more fun, especially when you sit on the couch with your friends and can hurl absurd, of course completely ironic insults at the culprits right away.
What game are we talking about? The game in question is the couch co-op game “PlateUp!” Together with up to four players, you build your own restaurant, which might even become a franchise if successful.
You can play online or locally with shared screen. Solo play is possible, but it’s not the focus of the game.
On Steam, PlateUp! is currently 70% off and costs €5.85.
The offer lasts until Monday, December 1.
There is also a free demo available.
In the trailer, you can see different restaurants in action:

In PlateUp! chaotic cooking action meets roguelite strategy
Like Overcooked, but better
If you’ve heard of a couch co-op restaurant game, it was probably Overcooked. The series has enjoyed great popularity for years (via SteamDB) and is one of the best titles in the genre. I’ve also spent several hours in Overcooked, especially Overcooked 2, before I discovered PlateUp! for myself.
At first glance, both titles look quite similar:
Chaotic restaurant game where you have to process your guests’ orders as quickly as possible
Focus on couch co-op
Cute comic style
A typical restaurant in PlateUp!For comparison: Overcooked has a similar look
But on closer inspection, it becomes clear that PlateUp! is much more than a cheap copy. This is already due to a fundamentally different game principle:
In Overcooked you play through separate levels. The challenge mainly lies in handling the given kitchen. Sometimes your kitchen is spread over two flying islands. Other times it is crossed by an icy river. That’s usually not very practical.
In PlateUp!, however, you build your completely own restaurant. Here, the difficulty lies more in investing in the right upgrades and placing everything cleverly.
As a big fan of all kinds of building games, I feel right at home here. It’s just super satisfying to continuously improve and optimize your restaurant over time. PlateUp! creates the perfect blend of chaotic cooking action and strategic building game. It gives you enough freedom to tinker around and try out different approaches while also providing you with fixed goals and challenges, keeping it demanding.
Every restaurant has its own challenges
Before you start a round of PlateUp!, you first need to establish the basics of your restaurant. You choose the layout of your building, a dish that you want to offer at the beginning, and optionally two helpful items, which you will have to unlock first. This selection is extremely important for the course of the round and is essentially equivalent to choosing a level.
The goal of a match is to survive 15 game days with your restaurant. Each day, a certain number of guests arrives whom you must serve. If even a single guest leaves the house dissatisfied, you lose the match.
Fortunately, you don’t have to manage all this with your scant starting equipment. After each day, there is a planning phase. With the money you’ve fought hard for, you can buy new furniture, kitchen appliances, decorations, and equipment. You are always limited to a randomly rolled selection of objects.
Here you assemble your match. The “blueprints” on the ground can be bought and then placed in the restaurant.
It’s particularly important to not only buy more items but also better items. Many things in PlateUp! have various upgrades that you can obtain either randomly or through a research table. Such upgrades include:
A stove where nothing can burn anymore
A table where guests pay more
A dishwasher that…well…washes your dishes automatically
However, not every progress is always pleasant. Every three days, your restaurant earns an additional star, which usually also brings more challenging guests. In true roguelike style, you are presented with a choice of two options from which you must choose one. This can be something like a new dish, more guests, or food that burns faster. In any case, it doesn’t get easier for you.
An exception to this are the decoration rounds. After five game days, you can choose a positive effect that you can activate through decoration items.
Either you have to serve more guests at once or make coffee.Depending on which “style” you choose for your restaurant, you can unlock different bonuses.
It’s precisely these roguelike elements that make the game so brilliant for me. Every round is unique and challenging in its own way. Over time, you’ll learn which innovations harmonize well together and which combinations you should avoid. For example, if you offer a more complicated dish, additional sides and desserts can quickly break your neck. In a relaxed café, you can serve plenty of pastries, ice cream, and cakes instead. Discovering this is a lot of fun and invites experimentation and optimization.
If you have no friends, machines will help
As mentioned at the beginning, I believe PlateUp! shines especially in coop. The hectic kitchen stress brings about excitement and funny moments immediately. Anyone can jump straight into the game. And there are plenty of tasks that can be shared among players.
Nevertheless, PlateUp! also works significantly better in solo play than I’ve experienced with other coop games of this type.
This is mainly because you can almost fully automate your restaurant, especially the cooking process. For this, there are things like conveyor belts, mixers, and portioners with which you can build complex automation processes. Eventually, your kitchen will resemble a stuffed production hall. But as long as the right food comes out at the end, your customers will be happy about it.
Through clever automation, you could theoretically manage to run a large restaurant entirely by yourself. However, you will be somewhat dependent on getting the right objects offered for purchase early on.
Of course, these options are also available in coop. If you want to play beyond the first 15 days, you should definitely consider mechanical assistance.
This is what your restaurant might look like if you opt for automation.
From shabby pub to restaurant empire
What I particularly like about PlateUp! is that after a winning match, the game doesn’t immediately kick you out of your restaurant. If you want, you can seamlessly continue playing until the ever-growing influx of visitors overwhelms you completely. Short round or long-term play, the choice is yours.
If you’ve survived at least 15 days, you will also have the opportunity to start a franchise. This means you start a new restaurant but take upgrade cards from the last match with you and gain additional bonuses. Here, you need to plan even longer-term and can create a true restaurant empire.
This may be less suitable for a quick party round. However, it’s even nicer if you want to enjoy the game long-term – for example, with a partner.
Even outside of individual matches, you make progress in PlateUp! over time. Most importantly, you unlock more layouts for your restaurant and more dishes. This keeps the game interesting and fresh even over a longer period.
After about 50 hours of gameplay, I have now unlocked all game content and feel like a little head chef. Nevertheless, I still don’t feel I have “finished” PlateUp!. Particularly regarding automation and longer franchises, there’s much deeper to dive, which will certainly occupy me for a few more hours.
Additionally, PlateUp! has become my favorite title in my “party repertoire”. No matter in what configurations I’ve played the game so far, it has always been well received and has provided a few funny gaming hours. Overall, I can recommend PlateUp! both as a casual coop game for a round with friends and for longer sessions with more strategy and optimization.
In the books and movies of The Lord of the Rings, there are a whole load of powerful weapons. The following seven are particularly powerful and important tools in the fight against the evil forces of Middle-earth.
How was the ranking created? Middle-earth is a dangerous world where evil forces strive for power. To stop them, special weapons are necessary and the villains themselves also use some powerful specimens to thwart the good.
For this list, we looked at seven strong weapons that appear during the history of The Lord of the Rings, are powerful for various reasons, and influence the plot.
As always with such lists: The rankings are clearly subjective and reflect the views of the author. If your opinion differs, feel free to let us know in the comments at the end.

Epic Trailer for The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship
Rank 7: Sting
Weapon type: Sword
Bearer: Frodo and Sam, previously Bilbo
Sting is an Elvish sword, though due to its length it resembles a dagger. It was found by Bilbo and later passed on to Frodo. The special thing about it is that it begins to glow blue as soon as orcs approach. This makes Sting a practical means to be warned in advance of enemies.
This way Frodo and his companions could avoid any orcs or launch surprise attacks. Due to the craftsmanship of the Elves, Sting is also excellently made and nearly indestructible. The blade can penetrate even very hard materials. This is how Sam manages to defeat the giant spider Shelob by stabbing her with Sting in the armor.
Deservedly, Sam receives the weapon at the end from Frodo. Sting may not seem like much at first glance, but those who know its true power can achieve a lot with the elegant yet comparatively inconspicuous sword.

It should be one of the major features of the new expansion of World of Warcraft, but the community does not see this happening yet.
World of Warcraft Midnight will be an expansion that does not bring many new features – apart from housing. Instead, Blizzard’s MMORPG is still working on its fundamental renewal and mainly brings more of what players already know and like. However, a new feature, the “Prey” system, is not well received. Either it has been forgotten or people are wondering: Who is it actually for?
Start video
WoW Midnight shows gameplay – All new features
What is the Prey system? The new Prey feature, also called “loot,” is an optional mission that you can activate while playing in the open world. While you complete quests, hunt rare enemies, or participate in world events, you can be ambushed or find clues to your prey target. If you have enough clues, a duel will take place.
On normal difficulty, other characters can help you, but on the two higher levels, you have to survive the duel alone. However, when exactly your enemy strikes is random. This can happen right when you are fighting a tough elite enemy or when you just wanted to go “afk” for a moment.
Prey is missing exactly when you would need it
What is the community criticizing? In the WoW subreddit, there has been relatively little discussion about the Prey feature from the beta. It is being used very little, and there are several reasons for this. In a recent post, these 3 main criticisms are noted:
If you die for any reason while playing, progress in the current Prey hunt is completely reset. Because scaling in Midnight is still strange, you can unexpectedly fail against elite or rare enemies during quests.
Accepting a Prey mission is annoying because you have to go back to Silvermoon every time and interrupt the current gameplay for it. A detour that disrupts the flow of the game rather than enriches it.
The system is only available from level 90, but the rewards feel rather weak at that point.
Many limitations of the feature have caused it to already be forgotten by many:
“Wait, what? I thought this was something you use while leveling through the areas, and then it gets harder when you reach max level. As it is, it’s terrible.” – Lenyor-RR
“Wow, I completely forgot about the feature.” – TheJewishMerp
What, you can’t use that while leveling? That’s pretty much the only time I’m in the open world? At least 90% of the time. – TheHeroicLionheart
“As much as I wish everyone would hit a home run with their ideas, I’m also glad that it sounds like you could completely ignore it when playing dungeons or raids.” – yawgmothhagain
Who is the Prey system actually for? Much of the criticism can be countered if the Prey system is seen primarily as a gameplay opportunity for a specific group of players: outdoor fans. This is mainly the group that is rarely seen in forums or social media. Because there is a large part of the player base that avoids dungeons and does not attend raids, but instead only engages in outdoor activities in the endgame.
For exactly this group, the Prey system could become exciting and interesting. But it would be nice if all others could at least benefit a little more from it than has been the case so far.
Have you already checked out the beta? What is your first impression of the new Prey system? Is it even worth it, or will you not interact with the feature at all? If you just want to test it, take a look at the beta of Midnight, then you can also give direct feedback to Blizzard.

A strategy game has achieved something at release that only GTA 5 has managed. On Steam, you can get the game now for ten bucks.
Which game is being referred to? The game is called A Total War Saga: Troy and is part of the popular Total War series. The strategy games developed by Creative Assembly are primarily known for cinematic battles where thousands of soldiers fight simultaneously.
A Total War Saga: Troy was released on August 13, 2020, initially exclusively in the Epic Games Store. There, the game was even given away for free on the release day! In September 2021, it was released on Steam, where you can secure the game for €9.99 until December 11, 2025.

Total War crashed the Epic servers at release
What success does the game share with GTA 5? Right on the first day, when the game could be secured for free, there was a huge demand. This was confirmed by Ivan Kanev, Development Director at the studio behind Troy, in a brief interview. You can read this in the form of a post on YouTube.
In the interview, Kanev is asked what success he is most proud of during the development of A Total War Saga: Troy. Besides the fact that the game was successfully released in the first year of the Corona pandemic, he was also pleased with the great interest in the title.
The game attracted so many people to the Epic Games Store on release day that it crashed the platform’s servers for several hours. This had only been achieved before by GTA 5:
Another truly proud moment was when 7.7 million people claimed the game for free in the first 24 hours, thereby crashing the Epic servers in the first few hours (something that had only been achieved before by GTA 5).
Ivan ‘Jovanie’ Kanev, Development Director at CA Sofia
Epic strategy in the war for Troy
What is the game about? A Total War Saga: Troy transports the well-known mix of the series of turn-based strategy with real-time battles into the Bronze Age. The focus is on the legendary Trojan War, as represented in the Iliad – the preserved epic.
The main game relies on a mix of mythology and history. Legendary warriors like Achilles and Hector take on numerous opponents simultaneously, and units inspired by mythological creatures such as centaurs and sirens also enter the battlefield.
If you want a “Age of Mythology”-style Total War and command real creatures from myths, the Myth DLC is worth it. It adds a new game mode with real monsters and significantly more powerful god powers.
If you prefer a purely historical experience, you will also find it here. It might be even more worthwhile to buy Total War: Pharaoh. The game also costs only €9.99 on Steam and in the Dynasties edition offers the heroes of Troy on a significantly larger map.
