Netflix seems to be satisfied with the viewership numbers for the spin-off Castlevania: Nocturne. The anime premiered on September 28, 2023, and it is already confirmed that there will be a sequel.
What is Castlevania: Nocturne?
- Castlevania: Nocturne takes place in France in 1792, many years after the previous seasons of Castlevania
- The first season consists of eight episodes, each about 25 minutes long
- The main focus is on Richter Belmont, who must stop a vampire army
- The first trailer already showed how brutal the anime is
The Castlevania anime is based on the successful video game series of the same name, which has been around for over 35 years. In the video games, we control a vampire hunter who has to deal with all sorts of creatures like zombies, vampires, and werewolves.
Although some people have been bothered by the diversity of the Netflix anime, the series seems to be a success. Netflix announced the sequel just eight days after the premiere of season 1 with a teaser trailer. This shows a sketch of which characters will appear in season 2.

Fans of Castlevania: Nocturne are particularly excited about one character
How does the community view the announcement of season 2? The viewers are thrilled that there will be a second season of Castlevania: Nocturne. Fans are especially excited about one character who suddenly appeared in the finale of season 1.

Who are they looking forward to? In the finale of season 1, Richter Belmont and Maria receive help from Alucard. He is Dracula’s son, who disagreed with his father’s intentions and therefore left him.
As a sign that he no longer belongs to Dracula’s family, he adopted the name Alucard. This is Dracula spelled backwards and is meant to show that he pursues different goals than the tyrannical vampire.
Alucard is also seen in the teaser trailer, which is why we can assume that he will play an important role in season 2. Many viewers are therefore looking forward to seeing more episodes with their favorite vampire.
