The player and Reddit user volmat shows in a clip on Reddit how the deadly night has transformed from “manageable with enough planning” to absolutely merciless. And that can be taken literally.
Aside from the increased damage from the rain, there are no more saving grace spots after defeating the boss of the second night. They may still be in the same locations as during the day, but they no longer restore your health points or healing potions.
This ruins a fairly established tactic of the second night, disappointing many players while also making just as many others quite happy.

Which tactic is being referred to? Previously, the grace spots outside the safe zone remained active even after defeating the boss of the second night, and the rain only slowly shrank the health bar, making it a common tactic to run around the map again before facing the final Nightlord to collect lost runes or farm additional enemies.
You just had to find a grace spot occasionally to restore your life and get new healing potions.
Motivated teams could scrape together the remaining runes for another level, but for some players, this additional farming, which sometimes dragged on, became quite tiresome.
