In New World there are various buffs and status effects that influence your character. One special effect is Fortitude, as it only occurs during specific attacks. We explain exactly what this effect is about.
What is Fortitude? According to the official description, Fortitude ensures that you do not stagger during attacks.
In plain language, this means that you cannot be interrupted by enemies while attacking or using the ability.
This only applies to this one attack or ability.
Abilities and attacks that utilize Fortitude create a small, white effect under the character. This indicates when an enemy cannot be interrupted. This applies to both PvP fights and hostile NPCs in PvE.
When is Fortitude particularly useful? Abilities with Fortitude are especially useful in PvP, for example, when your stun cannot be interrupted, ensuring that you hit the opponent.
The Fortitude effect is present in abilities like Leg Sweep with the spear, Whirlwind of the greataxe, or Armor Breaker on the hammer.
Additionally, all light and heavy attacks with a melee weapon have Fortitude if you have skilled 300 strength in your attributes. Many consider this too strong, especially in PvP.
