Shortly before the launch of the beta for New World, we were able to play a current version of the MMO from Amazon at MeinMMO and GameStar. We reveal our first assessments.

What is New World? The new open-world MMO from Amazon takes place during the Age of Discovery, set in the 17th century, on the fictional island “Aeternum”, located in the middle of the Atlantic. On the newly discovered continent by settlers, all sorts of supernatural dangers lurk, originating from mysterious creatures as well as from other players. The release date is August 31, 2021. Currently, a closed beta is running, allowing pre-orderers to participate.
The MMO offers you:
- 3 factions that have their own playstyles and fight against each other
- Fortresses that can be conquered, expanded and defended
- PvE tasks and quests
- Individual character progression without classes through 60 levels, attribute points, and skill trees
- Player housing with decorations that can also be found in the open world
- A crafting system where you can master all types and become the best craftsman in the world
- A lore around the rare mineral Azoth, which can grant immortality
- There is now also a first dungeon that has been introduced for New World
