On October 21, 2025, there will be server maintenance in New World: Aeternum. When you can play again and what part of the maintenance involves, you will find out here.
Server Down in New World – from when? The servers will be shut down on September 21, 2025, at 08:00 CEST (23:00 PDT) on all platforms.
When can I play New World again? According to a post on X.com, maintenance and implementation of fixes will take approximately 1.5 hours. You should be able to play again around 9:30 CEST. We will inform you as soon as the servers are available again.
What happens during the server down? The servers will be shut down. During this time, you cannot play New World: Aeternum.
Why there were maintenance works and what is included in the fixes will be explained in the next section.
All Patch Notes for the Fixes
After some server issues occurred in New World: Aeternum last night (see x.com), a server maintenance was announced to address this and several other known issues.
Accordingly, the following issues will be addressed and fixes implemented during the server down today:
- Fixed an issue with some players unable to access the Seraphim Soul Trial at Monastery Isle.
- Fixed an issue where some quests did not progress after speaking to the NPC.
- Fixed an issue where the gates in Catacombs would sometimes not open after killing Rafflebones.
- Fixed an issue where the extraction portal would fail to spawn causing players to fail to extract in Catacombs.
- Fixed an issue where Catacomb levers are not interactable.
- Fixed an issue where the secret door in Castle Dracula was occasionally not opening as expected.
- Fixed an issue where artifacts would sometimes revert to a previous gear score level after being upgraded at the Gypsum Kiln.
- Fixed an issue that allowed old perks to be placed onto new crafting items via perk crafting items. This was not intended so we have removed the ability to use perk items on these recipes. For already crafted items that mix the new and old perks, we’ve swapped out all the old perks with an empty charm slot. Mastery Perks became Skill slots, Offensive themed perks became Offensive Slots, and Defensive themed perks became Defensive Slots.
- Fixed an issue where applying the last perk charm of any type in your inventory to an item causes that charm type to be broken if applying another perk charm of that type.
- Fixed an issue where territory standing boosters did not apply to territory standing earned in Nighthaven. Reduced distance players can hear doors opening throughout Nighthaven.
- Fixed an issue which prevented the Focused set, the Tenacity set, and several infix items from appearing on the PvP Reward Track.
- Fixed an issue where some mobs required for MSQ quests would fail to spawn.
- Fixed an issue where the elementally charged set bonus wouldn’t trigger if the chest piece for the bonus was not equipped.
- Fixed various crashing issues.
