In a new game, you pick real treasures out of other people’s junk. This has been received “very well” by players on Steam.
Which game is being talked about? The game is called Trash Goblin and was released in Early Access on November 6, 2024, on Steam – meaning the game is intended to be further developed with player feedback. If you just want to try out the game once, the free demo is recommended.
What is the game about? You play as a small goblin and sift through the junk left behind by others. You pick it apart with your tool. In doing so, you uncover one or the other treasure, which you can then sell in your shop.

Restoration and tinkering
What does the gameplay look like? At first glance, it is hard to tell what you have in front of you. To reach the treasures, you first need to carefully chip away several layers of junk with a chisel. Then you scrub the item clean.
There are no other tools besides chisel and sponge. Essentially, every item requires the same approach. Depending on the type of player, this can quickly become boring or appear meditative. It all depends on what you’re looking for.
Once an object shines again in its former glory, you can also combine it with others. Ultimately, it is up to you whether you sell the item or keep it for yourself and display it at home. With money, you buy new furniture and decorations for your goblin hideout.
Charming game with limited content
How has the game been received so far? Currently, 81% of players on Steam give a thumbs up, resulting in an overall “very positive” rating. The relaxed (albeit repetitive) gameplay and the charming atmosphere are most frequently praised.
However, some players criticize the current scope of the game. Steam user lolodapolo writes, for example: “I do not recommend this game at the moment – mostly because it feels so empty and unfinished. Right now, you get the same amount of fun and content from the demo […]”
