A new system software update for the PlayStation 5 has recently been released. What does the firmware upgrade bring?
What is the new firmware update about? Today, on December 9, 2020, Sony released a new system software update for the new PlayStation 5.
The new firmware has the version number 20.02-02.30 and is 868 MB in size – like all updates for the PS5 so far. The console needs to restart once for this.
What’s in the new firmware update for the PS? Sony keeps the description very brief again. The new update is said to further improve system performance, as stated officially in the only patch note.
At first glance, we at MeinMMO could not notice any significant or visible changes after the update.
The PS5 controller also gets an update: The interesting thing about the update: Not only the PS5 – the DualSense controller also apparently receives an update.
After installing the firmware version 20.02-02.30, you will be prompted to connect the PS5 controller via USB cable to the console to install the new device software.
But unfortunately, Sony does not reveal what exactly changes or improves.
