Master the new mount
With Monster Hunter Wilds, a new mount is introduced – your Saikrii. This carries you from A to B similar to the Palamutes in Monster Hunter Rise and lets you fight from its back.
Your Saikrii can also do a lot more than its canine predecessor. It has a saddlebag and a weapon holster that allow you to carry a second weapon and additional items. Furthermore, it can automatically dodge some attacks and assist you in battle.
The controls also offer you some freedoms, but they need to be practiced. You can either manually control your companion or set it to autopilot. You can sprint, drift, and even glide through the air with it.
You can use the beta to get to know the controls and perfect them for yourself so that you can start the release like a true Saikrii rider.
Find the perfect settings
In addition to many new gameplay features, Monster Hunter Wilds offers detailed ways to customize your gaming experience. This can quickly become overwhelming. That is why it makes sense to familiarize yourself with it in advance and experiment around.
From the favorites menu to various accessibility settings to a mode for people with arachnophobia, much has been thought of here, giving players the freedom to shape the “framework” of the game in a way that is comfortable for them.
Therefore, it can be wise to use the beta to familiarize yourself with this and to secure certain settings so that you don’t have to rummage through the menus and settings at release.
Check out the details and admire the world
Last but not least: You should take the opportunity to take a good look at the world. Monster Hunter Wilds offers a vibrant ecosystem full of small details that invite exploration and observation.
At every corner, there are little things to discover that make the world surrounding the gigantic monsters more authentic and “real”. Monsters interact with each other, form groups, or fight each other. Like on a safari, you can observe them in their lives, and even watch them while hunting and sleeping – or when they do their business.
