The authors of Elder Scrolls Online told a great story over several chapters and DLCs years ago. While the starting point in Morrowind has long been part of the base game, all Tamriel heroes can secure the fantastic middle part of the story for free in July.
Which storyline is it about? The narrative thread is called “daedric war.” The first hints about the events of the story arc appeared in the DLCs Orsinium, Dark Brotherhood, and Shadows of the Hist.
The story really kicked off with the first chapter Morrowind, which is now part of the base game of Elder Scrolls Online. The daedric war continued in the story DLC Clockwork City, only to culminate in an epic finale with the next chapter Summerset.
The latest chapter is called Gold Road and takes you to the West Marshes. Here is the launch trailer:
One could say that the authors of the MMORPG have already done on a smaller scale what Blizzard wants to implement in the coming years with the next three WoW expansions of the World Soul saga. Or what Square Enix has accomplished in great fashion with the overarching story arc of Final Fantasy XIV up to Endwalker.
Free trip to the City of Clockworks
What is free? In July, you can secure the aforementioned, highly recommended story DLC Clockwork City for free. To do this, you need to log into Elder Scrolls Online on two different days in July. That’s it!
The gift is part of the celebrations for the 10th anniversary of the MMORPG. Back in April, you could secure the thief DLC Thieves Guild. There was also an oasis as a home, a pig, and much more.
There’s more! From July 2 to August 15, 2024, you can claim the modified action “Gold Road Recall” for free through the Crown Shop if you have completed the achievement “Champion of Vivec.” To succeed, you must master the storyline of the Morrowind chapter.
In addition, there are seals available when you master the various endeavors from Morrowind and Clockwork City. For these, you need to slay leaders in open dungeons or complete the crafting halls.
