The content of MMOs can generally be divided into two main areas: PvE and PvP. We want to know what MeinMMO users prefer. Do you prefer playing with others or against them?
That’s the appeal of PvE: What would major MMORPGs do without raids? Difficult raids and dungeons attract players with the prospect of cool loot, but that is only part of the fun. For raiders, the gameplay in PvE plays at least as big a role as the fancy rewards at the end.

In epic battles against giant monsters, players must together outsmart the new gameplay mechanics and devise a good strategy to ultimately be victorious. And when the boss falls for the first time, that is a really awesome feeling for many.
That’s the appeal of PvP: A large number of gamers also love to compete with others. No matter how good an AI is or how tricky a raid boss, they will eventually become predictable. Players learn their moves and can eventually face them in their sleep.
A real human opponent, on the other hand, can be a true challenge.

Whether in a duel or team plays, you will never experience the exact same fight twice. PvP matches are as varied as the people you play against. Thus, it will never be monotonous. The feeling of triumph at the end of a fight against another person is also all the more satisfying.
Competitive MMO games are therefore popping up like mushrooms.

Irie: I am definitely a PvE player. PvE content has always been the most important aspect of an online game for me. It just feels cool to gradually delve into the raid or other endgame content and come up with strategies that work best for the group. I also find that a raid where everything works optimally and everyone plays their role well just looks beautiful.
Also, I am fundamentally bad at PvP. Pure PvP games are therefore nothing for me.
Sven: I used to enjoy PvP, playing against each other: A lot of Call of Duty and Battlefield. With Destiny, the tide turned.
Since then, I love the PvE in co-op mode with others. Solving missions together with friends is now much more fun for me than competing directly with others.

Jürgen: I am a non-competitive person who enjoys going on adventures with other players. Therefore, I prefer PvE games. I find co-op shooters like Warframe or Borderlands particularly awesome.
However, I often lack time, and therefore I only get to play – if at all – when my buddies are already asleep. That way I can always play a round of Fortnite, which is PvP, but is also a lot of fun.
And now it’s your turn: Are you a PvP or PvE player? Do you prefer to storm the stronghold of a raid boss with an alliance in co-op? Or do you prefer to dismantle other players in PvP according to all the rules of the game? Tell us!
