Legion, the latest expansion for World of Warcraft, is coming to Blizzard’s successful MMO servers in a few weeks and promises countless exciting adventures that we can experience in Azeroth. But in what role and with which heroes do you want to face the Burning Legion?
Are you also really excited about Legion? I certainly am, and anyone who knows my previous anecdotes and comments on World of Warcraft will immediately see why I am so thrilled about Legion. Here’s a little hint: the reason has horns, wings, and pointy ears. And no, it’s not our in-house demon Cortyn, but the demon hunter!
The world can never have enough demon hunters
The demon hunter is likely to become one of the most anticipated classes in World of Warcraft because it not only looks amazing and plays extremely dynamically and cool, but also, the demon slayer is the first new hero class since the Death Knight from Wrath of the Lich King, the most successful expansion in WoW history.
So surely thousands of horned elves will soon descend upon the shattered islands and bravely confront the Burning Legion. The coolest thing about it: Blizzard has cleverly incorporated the flood of demon hunters into the lore, as we free Illidan’s entire Illidari army in the demon hunter introduction quest to unleash them upon the Legion.
So many options
However, if you’re not keen on a demon hunter, you don’t have to sadly watch the horde of horned long-eared ones in Legion. Each class has received entirely new features thanks to the cool new artifact weapons and class halls. The artifact weapons are essentially independent characters with their own properties and effects. This also makes the old warrior or rarely played warlock from the far corner of the character list interesting again.
Additionally, thanks to extensive class updates, all previous hero types have received significant updates and play somewhat completely differently now. For example, the rogue, who has received the cool new talent tree of “Outlaw”, or the new melee specialization of the hunter!
Fear the little ones!
Speaking of hunters: If you like it small and cute but don’t want to compromise on firepower and wild battle pets, you can now also play as a gnome as a hunter and even take mechanical pets on the hunt. Gnome hunters are definitely another class we will see more often in the fight against the Legion, especially since we get a free booster with the purchase of Legion that catapults any hero to level 100.
