In Lost Ark, there seems to have been a bug that allowed players to potentially acquire an item too frequently. A hotfix was released today, March 18th, around noon, but it also caused a server downtime: Lost Ark is currently offline and cannot be played. What happened with Lost Ark? Yesterday, on March 17th, the latest update for Lost Ark was released. It included some bug fixes and also gifts for players who had issues due to these bugs. However, a mistake was also introduced.
This bug apparently allowed some players to pick up certain items more frequently than Amazon intended. A hotfix that is supposed to resolve the issue will be deployed today, March 18th, around 11:45 AM German time, but it requires a server downtime.
How long was Lost Ark offline on March 18th?
Amazon is shutting down servers: To provide a solution to these issues, Amazon is now restarting all servers of Lost Ark, as they announced on Twitter. The hotfix will also require a minor client update.
The servers will shut down today, March 18th, at 11:45 AM and are expected to be offline for 2 hours. We will keep you updated on the development of the downtime.
Update 1:19 PM: The servers are back online and the hotfix has been applied. The downtime was even shorter than previously announced. We wish you good loot!
Additionally, the items that mistakenly entered the game due to the bug will be removed again. So if you profited from the bug, don’t be surprised if the items disappear today.
The community is not pleased
The community reacts in frustration: These constant server downtimes are currently met with great incomprehension in the community. Many cannot understand how a patch can cause so much trouble repeatedly in the comment sections.
