Many movies based on popular animes are currently running in theaters. Rumor has it that Solo Leveling is also considering this path. But fans are wishing for something different.
What kind of rumor is this? A report from the production committee of the Solo Leveling anime supposedly surfaced on X. It appeared in a search algorithm on Google Chrome by user Pluto_Hadeath.
According to this, the next project for Solo Leveling will not be a new season but a new movie. The new movie for Demon Slayer is being referenced as an example. Here, the final season is not released as an anime series, but as a movie series. For the final arc, there are supposed to be a total of 3 movies, of which the first has already been shown.
And as it turns out, it was the right decision to present the final arc as a movie series. For the box office receipts of part 1 were phenomenal. Demon Slayer even broke a record.
Chainsaw Man has also taken this route and thrilled the audience. So this news should be a reason for joy for many fans. However, many users are now complaining online that they would prefer a 3rd season instead of a movie.
A movie for Solo Leveling is possible only under one condition
What would fans prefer? Many users are discussing on Reddit what they think about a new movie for Solo Leveling. Many of the commenters would prefer a 3rd season over a new movie, and this has several reasons:
- One reason is that the next arc would simply not lend itself to a movie. The top comment states that the great finale and the epilogue would work better as a movie.
- The release of season 3 should not be delayed by a movie. Fans are already worried that season 3 might not even come out within the next few years.
- Additionally, some fans would prefer if it were not a recap movie. If there is a recap, it should include content that did not make it into the anime – such as the complete 100 Flood Dungeon.
