Leak shows a lot of maps and content from CoD Modern Warfare 2 – Even details from the mysterious DMZ mode

So far, leaks about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 have come in a trickle. But now there has been a short but heavy shower of new information about this year’s CoD. Maps, weapons, operators, DMZ info – a leaker has revealed a lot of information and publisher Activision has already signaled with its “strikes” that the leaker is onto something.

The release for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is scheduled for October 28, and so far there is only a little official information about the shooter – a bit of gameplay, details on innovations, and background of the story.

However, especially in the multiplayer modes, little is known so far if you only look at the official releases. However, combined with the leaks, one can already get a picture.

This picture has now become a little sharper. A leaker claims to have found data about CoD MW2 in the files of an Alpha version of Warzone Mobile, which ran back in May 2022.

Among them are pictures of a dozen maps and even information about the next Call of Duty from developer Treyarch – which is probably set to release in 2024. MeinMMO presents the leak to you.

CoD MW2: Map Leak July 2022

The leak comes from a data miner who calls himself “orange man” and was spread via Twitter. The main account of the leaker has already been banned due to copyright violations. Therefore, we will not include any images that also violate copyright.

In the analyzed files, the data miner found new hints about over 30 multiplayer maps. Some of these are still “left over” from CoD MW 2019 and do not necessarily have to appear in MW2 2022. Open the spoiler box to view the long list:

CoD MW2: Leak shows weapons and DMZ details

In addition, the data miner showed a list of almost 20 weapons that are supposed to be included in CoD MW2. Here we will also pack the list into a spoiler box:

Further lines of code also provide hints about the mysterious DMZ mode. According to previous leaks, this is a mode that follows the gameplay principle of Escape from Tarkov.

This “Extraction Mode” could even come as a standalone version with a Free2Play model, similar to Warzone 2020.

It is currently still completely unclear why the data about CoD MW2 were found in an Alpha version of Warzone Mobile. The leaker claims to have discovered concept arts for maps from the next Call of Duty from the Treyarch developers.

Accordingly, the Call of Duty after CoD MW2 is moving more towards the future again and could offer soft science fiction, similar to Battlefield 2042.

Months will pass until the launch of CoD MW2, and which maps we will see at the launch of the shooter remains completely open for now.
