With Patch 8, Larian has released the last major update for Baldur’s Gate 3. One of the core features among the new content is the photo mode, which is as detailed as one would probably expect from Larian by now. And of course, fans have immediately started doing everything possible to make the photo mode as ridiculous as possible.
What’s new in Baldur’s Gate 3:
- On April 15, Patch 8 for Baldur’s Gate 3 was released. According to the developer, this is now the last major update, and the game is now complete.
- The biggest new features are crossplay, the photo mode, and the 12 new subclasses. Of course, there are also tons of bug fixes and even trading cards for Steam.
- Even before, the community of Baldur’s Gate 3 proved that they can be quite crazy. Now they have a new toy…
Here you can find the patch notes for Patch 8.
What’s so special about the photo mode? Larian apparently put a lot of effort into the mode. You can not just, as is often the case in other games, set a few filters and give the characters different facial expressions.
The photo mode in Baldur’s Gate 3 gives you the possibility to have characters take all sorts of positions. And there are really all kinds of them. Just for humanoids, there are 47 options.
In addition, there are poses for animals, druids in animal form (including, of course, the owlbear) and some monsters like mephits and forest spirits. And if that’s not enough, you can also make people dance and stick stickers on the pictures.
Since the release of Patch 8, social media and Reddit have been flooded with creations from fans, and there’s pretty much everything. And of course, also the truly absurd.
Fans can pose their characters and use it for fun
By now, it should be clear since the release of InZOI, what players do with too much freedom. But the community of Baldur’s Gate 3 has always been a bit crazy, but in a positive way.
The creations here range from recreated memes to classic cat pictures to: “Guys, am I using this right?”. And of course, there are also some collages with Shrek (via Reddit).
But the community of Baldur’s Gate 3 would not be the community of Baldur’s Gate 3 if it stayed at tame recreations and memes. Accordingly, there are characters posing with huge rings and images of completely innocent people gathered around bloody corpses:
At the moment it’s hard to say how many players are actually “playing” the game and trying out the new classes – or even wanting to see the new evil endings. The photo mode seems to have priority.
At least here on MeinMMO, it seems that not everyone has fallen into the photo craze. You have already voted on which of the new classes you like best. First place is perfect for fully embracing the dark path so you can see the new endings: The 12 new subclasses of Baldur’s Gate 3 in your ranking – show that you are ready for the new endings
