What kind of event is this? The Spotlight Hour is a short event that lasts only 60 minutes. It takes place every week on Tuesday. There is at least one Pokémon that is in the spotlight, along with a bonus.
In the upcoming Spotlight Hour on February 3, 2026, the Pokémon Whismur is waiting for you. This Pokémon is from Generation 3 and can first evolve into Loudred and then into Exploud.
Spotlight Hour on February 3, 2026 – Start and Bonuses
When does the Spotlight Hour start? As usual, the short event starts at 6:00 PM. It ends again after 60 minutes, at 7:00 PM.
What bonus is active? Each Pokémon you catch during the Spotlight Hour will give you double the amount of candies.
Can you catch Shiny Whismur? Yes. You can also encounter the shiny variant of the Pokémon. However, the chance of finding a shiny specimen is not increased.
Is it worth it to participate in the Spotlight Hour? Whismur and its evolutions are unfortunately not strong Pokémon and do not appear in the list of best attackers in Pokémon GO for raids.
If you still have Pokémon rewards from research or the raid pass, you can at least use the event to claim those rewards and get double the amount of candies for them.
