In Fortnite there is a paid PvE mode called “Save the World.” It is all the more worthwhile with the transition to Chapter 4. We at MeinMMO will show you how to make the most of the PvE mode and still have fun in the festive season.
What is “Save the World”? In Save the World, you play as a hero trying to find out what is behind the mysterious storm that strips people’s skin and transforms them into mindless zombies.
You can choose between four classes with special stats and talents:
- Soldiers – Fighters who can quickly and efficiently thin out hordes of zombies.
- Constructors – Builders who can set up turrets and force fields for strongholds.
- Ninjas – Agile fighters who can attack from the air and deal more damage in close combat.
- Explorers – Creative heroes who can create trap towers or robots to assist you in battle.
After your selection, the main goal is to gather resources, defend areas, or rescue survivors. You will build fortifications from collected materials and create your own weapons using found plans.
However, during winter, a special event called “Frostnite” takes place. Since Chapter 3 has changed the functionality of the Battle Pass, the relaxed slaughtering of zombies is even more worthwhile.
Defeat Zombies and Level Up Your Battle Pass
Thanks to the changes in Chapter 3, you can also level up your Battle Pass outside of Battle Royale. This means if the stressful everyday life in PvP has drained your last nerve, you can relax and tackle a round of Frostnite with your friends.
Your task is to ensure that the BluGlo boiler does not go out. Therefore, you will try to find a blue fuel called BluGlo in the surrounding area. You supply the boiler with it; if it goes out, you will freeze this winter.
Zombies do not make survival easy for you, as they want to destroy the oven. Between rounds, you have time to equip yourself, find new weapons, and build a stronghold around the boiler to protect it. If too many zombies reach the oven, you lose.
Once you’ve built a base, you must survive for as long as possible. Team play and coordination are especially important. Strategies can be optimally discussed in your voice chat. The longer you survive, the more rewards you receive at the end of a match. The cool thing is that even in PvE mode, you can level up your Battle Pass quite casually.
What else can you do in Save the World? The main goal in Fortnite’s PvE mode is to gather resources, defend areas, or rescue survivors. You build fortifications from collected materials and create your own weapons using found plans. If you successfully complete missions, you will be rewarded with materials and can continue the story.
You will follow a map that reveals itself to you piece by piece. If you’re not in the mood for endless zombie rounds, you can also complete the main or side quest missions. This way, you also earn XP for your Battle Pass.
How much does Save the World cost? Save the World now costs €15.99 in the PlayStation store and can currently only be purchased through starter packs. The latest pack is called “Fully-Realized” and includes:

- Access to Save the World
- Colby challenges: Earn up to 1,500 V-Bucks through daily tasks in Save the World
