A document that has correctly predicted all data about games from Blizzard and Activision so far also shows info about the upcoming Diablo 4. Rumors also want to know exactly when Diablo 4 will be released and when you can test it in the beta.
When can I buy Diablo 4? According to a document allegedly from internal messages from Activision, the pre-order for Diablo 4 is supposed to start in December 2022 (via Twitter). Specifically, the date mentioned is the Game Awards 2022, taking place on December 8.
Blizzard was not allowed to participate in the Game Awards 2021, but according to an insider, they want to use the opportunity for a big announcement this year. The insider has been correct with all their data so far.
How reliable is the information? Already in August, there was a leak with various data. At that time, hardly any data was known, but everything has proven to be correct:
- August 30: The Pre-Patch of WotLK Classic
- September 26: WotLK Classic starts
- October 4: Overwatch 2 starts
- October 25: Patch 10.0 comes as a Pre-Patch to Dragonflight for WoW
- October 27: “CoD Cortez” starts – that was the internal name for Modern Warfare 2
- November 16: CoD Warzone 2 starts
- November 28: Dragonflight is released
The last point in the list is finally the start of pre-orders for Diablo 4 on December 8. This would fit not only because of the Game Awards but also into the planning to be able to sell Diablo 4 for the Christmas season. Many publishers consider such things.
Furthermore, there is new information about the release and the open beta of the new action RPG, which, however, comes from other sources.
The release trailer for Diablo 4 was the big surprise at the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase:
Rumors say: Release of Diablo 4 is in April, beta already in February
Reportedly, on December 8, the official dates for release, early access, and the open beta are also to be announced. As the site WindowsCentral and the XboxEra podcast want to know, Diablo 4 is supposed to be released in April 2023.
In addition, the “open beta” is supposed to start in February, to which pre-order customers are allegedly guaranteed invited – probably actually a closed beta with early access. Along with the digital versions of Diablo 4, a physical collector’s edition is also supposed to be released. However, the rumors have not yet provided details on the specific contents.
The data regarding release and beta cannot be confirmed yet. Currently, the first closed beta under NDA is reportedly running, from which gameplay keeps being released. At the moment, Blizzard is exclusively testing the endgame content of Diablo 4.
Features like the leveling phase, the shop, and more will, if at all, only be tested later on a larger scale. Whether and when that will be the case, however, we cannot yet say.
Finally, the head of Diablo himself spoke about the upcoming new installment. He found exactly the right words to generate hype:
