In Pokémon GO your storage capacity for Pokémon, items, and postcards is increasing – just in time for the GO Fest!
What’s new? In Pokémon GO, you can now collect more Pokémon, items, and postcards. All three storage limits will be expanded by 1,000 slots.
The storage spaces for Pokémon and items are likely to be particularly exciting for most.
- The Pokémon limit is now at 12,650 monsters. Depending on your level, additional storage slots will be added, allowing you to reach up to 13,000 Pokémon at level 80.
- The item limit has been increased to 12,000. At level 80, you can obtain up to 12,750 item storage slots.
What you should consider when upgrading your storage
Do I just get them now? No, as usual, you need to purchase the storage increase for PokéCoins in the shop.
Definitely keep an eye out; sometimes there are better offers in the shop around the GO Fest to increase your storage capacity.
For many, however, significantly less storage space may suffice. For comparison: There are currently a total of 938 catchable Pokémon in the game. So you can roughly catch 13 times the number of monsters that actually exist.
Why do I need so many monsters? That completely depends on how you play the game.
- Some players collect at least one specimen of every Pokémon. That requires quite a bit of storage.
- There are Shinies, which doubles the amount.
- You can hunt for four-star monsters.
- If you enjoy PvP, you need a different distribution of values.
- There are also special backgrounds to collect.
So there are plenty of ways to increase your collection beyond individual specimens. This is likely one of the reasons why some players are quite excited that the capacity is being increased further.
