A boss enemy that you will encounter later in the game of Dragon’s Dogma 2 holds a hidden cutscene. To trigger it, you must wound the enemy in his pride.
Attention, Spoiler: This boss enemy does not appear right at the beginning of Dragon’s Dogma 2, but only towards the end of the game. You have been warned!
Which boss enemy is it? The enemy Raghnall will be encountered during your adventure in the game. He is the bodyguard of Ser Phaesus, who is also not a pleasant fellow.
You will meet Raghnall for the fight in the Moonlit Tower. This is relatively late in the game. Before that, you would have had to decide for or against him in the quest “Tensions on the Country Road”.
No matter what you decided, Raghnall wants to know in the Moonlit Tower: He challenges you to a fight. Unlike usual, the pawns, who also like to gossip about you, will not be there to assist you. They find it only fair that you go into the field alone against the boss. Quite honorable, one against one.
At the end of the battle, there is a hidden cutscene
How do you unlock the secret scene? Most players will eagerly jump into the fight and defeat Raghnall relatively quickly, depending on the character’s strength.
Raghnall will then say a few words to you before he dies. However, things go differently if you choose the peaceful path.
As Reddit user Agent_Gentlemen shows in a video, it’s worth pretending to engage in the fight. Instead of dealing heavy blows and depleting the enemy’s health bar, the user parried Raghnall’s attacks and did not inflict any damage on him.
If you hold out this way for about two minutes, the hidden sequence is triggered. The fight ends, and Raghnall admits frustrated that this isn’t fun. He complains that you are not really “present” in the fight, meaning you are just playing with him.
Raghnall also reveals that it was not even his mission to kill you. He only attempted it out of personal interest. Nevertheless, he seeks a worthy adversary. Offended, Raghnall leaves, giving you a key and hoping for a real fight upon your next encounter.

What does the community think about it? Under the post on Reddit, players share their experiences with the fight.
- Chaz-Natlo says: “I accidentally threw him off the bridge.” – the hidden cutscene is, of course, not triggered by that.
- “I only figured this out because I decided to play with him once. This seems to be the intended way, if he didn’t die after about three hits. And then it never leads to that last confrontation,” laments Darklight645.
- Churro1912 writes instead: “That’s the cutscene I got because I was an archer and had to spam heals.”
By the way, you cannot trigger the secret sequence by first killing Raghnall and then resurrecting him with a Lazarus stone. In that case, he does get back up, but you will not see the hidden scene.
Offended, he may still be, after all, you have defeated the proud warrior. By the way, only 1.6% of players in Dragon’s Dogma 2 have unlocked a certain achievement – it’s relatively easy to get.
