What kind of game is this? Hellslave is an RPG dungeon crawler from developer Ars Goetia. The game was released on May 26, 2022, on Steam and has received “very positive” reviews. Just recently, the developers announced a sequel.
Currently, you can get Hellslave on Steam for free. If you add the game to your library by June 16 at 10 AM, you save nearly 20 euros.
The indie studio derives its name from the similarly named part of a grimoire from the 17th century. The Ars Goetia describes the 72 demons that King Solomon supposedly summoned, bound, and made work for him. So it’s no surprise that Hellslave revolves around demons and evil powers.

What is the game about? Demons from hell invade the world and devastate everything in their path. To save humanity, you must fight fire with fire: You forge a pact with the devil and worship one of six powerful demons to gain special powers.
- If you worship Lucifer, your strength lies in physical combat. In addition, the lightbringer grants you the power of light.
- Leviathan allows you to play as a powerful sorcerer who draws on cosmic energies.
- Baal allows you to be particularly stealthy and poison your enemies.
In addition to the powers granted by your demon, you customize your character with active and passive abilities. These allow for powerful synergies that help you defeat enemies like zombies, ghosts, and demons.
