The long development time of Lost Soul Aside could actually soon find its successful conclusion. Sony has now confirmed when the new action-packed JRPG for PS5 and Steam is set to release.
When is Lost Soul Aside set to be released? With a new gameplay trailer, which you can find further down in the announcement, the team from Sony and Ultizero Games has announced that the action role-playing adventure will be released in 2025 for PlayStation 5 as well as PC (Steam).
Additionally, interested players can now add the game to their respective wishlists. The nearly one-minute long gameplay trailer highlights the stylish graphics of Lost Soul Aside and the impressively staged action battles.
First a solo project, then AAA production
What do I need to know about Lost Soul Aside? When the first gameplay trailer went live just over eight years ago (!), the role-playing project was solely backed by Bing Yang. The game designer had already been working solo on his game for two years.
Notably, even back then, what was shown looked like an exciting mix of Final Fantasy 15 (in terms of visuals) and Devil May Cry and Ninja Gaiden (in terms of fast gameplay), which did not have to hide behind comparable games of that time.
This attracted not only many players’ attention to the project but also the team at Sony, who quickly offered to support the project as a publisher from then on, also investing a significant amount of money to build a large team around Bing Yang.
Given the close connection with Sony, it is not surprising that Lost Soul Aside will initially be released only for PlayStation 5 and PC. Whether an Xbox release will follow at some point remains unclear.
What is clear: You can expect an action-adventure with role-playing elements and fast, dynamic battles in Lost Soul Aside, which will focus entirely on the single-player experience. The goal of the epic odyssey is to save one’s sister as well as all of humanity from the attacks of dimensional invaders.
