You all know it: You come home after a tiring day at work or school and just want to play your favorite game for a few hours and relax. But just before you really get into the game, you receive the message that a connection to the servers is not possible. This problem is currently plaguing some unfortunate GTA players who cannot join GTA Online. MeinMMO shows you what is behind it.
Why can you not play GTA Online if you’re unlucky? According to the American online magazine Dexerto.com, there are currently reports about a bug in GTA Online that prevents playing the popular multiplayer.
When trying to connect to Rockstar services, the message appears that a connection is not possible. The affected Reddit user u/Comprehensive-Safe83 (via Reddit.com) reported in the GTA Online subreddit that the problem has been occurring since patch 1.42.
Patch 1.42 was released on May 17, 2022, and brought some fixes for existing bugs and issues. Ironically, it also fixed a problem that caused players to get stuck on the Rockstar logo screen when starting the game. (GTA Online Patch Notes via updatecrazy.com)
The current problem should not be confused with the well-known issue of the infinite loading screen that “GTA Online” players have been experiencing for years. Who is affected? As reported by the online magazine Dexerto.com, the reports about the problem are coming from players who play GTA Online on the PS4. It seems this is the only affected platform and players on other platforms are spared from the problem.
Currently, it is unclear how often the problem occurs. It is quite possible that you can play without any issues. But if you’re unlucky, you might not be able to join the world of GTA Online.
If you have a problem in GTA Online or with the Rockstar services, you can submit a ticket for support from Rockstar Games (via support.rockstargames.com) and request assistance from customer service.
Is there a solution to the problem? If you are suffering from the issue that you cannot connect to the Rockstar services since patch 1.42, there is no reliable solution to the problem.
However, the old reliable method seems to have helped again: restarting the game.
