Finally, all the rumors and leaks have come to an end. The price and release date of the PS5 are now officially known. Many are now discussing what games will be available at the release of the PlayStation 5. So far, our shooter expert Sven Galitzki has not been truly excited by any launch title. He is only looking forward to his old PS4 favorites in a fresh outfit.
Finally official: This is what many have been eagerly waiting for – and on the late evening of September 16, it finally happened. During a PS5 event , Sony announced the final price and specific release date of the PlayStation 5.
The next-gen console will be released in Germany on November 19, priced at €399.99 or €499.99 depending on the model.

This is what many are wondering: Additionally, there were many games to see that will either launch with or come later for the PS5. Now that the release date of the new console is known, many players are discussing which games they will play at the release of the PlayStation 5.
Opinions are widely divided. Among the community, there are already some favorites among the launch titles such as Godfall, Demon’s Souls, or Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
However, I view the situation a bit differently.
This is how I see the PS5 launch: Some time ago, I already decided as a satisfied PlayStation player for the PS5. And even though I couldn’t secure a PlayStation 5 during the pre-order chaos, I am already very much looking forward to its release.
It currently looks as if the technology will finally make a noticeable leap and elevate the consoles to a significantly higher level. Yes, I know, the PC with toys like the RTX 3090 still remains unmatched. I am looking forward to higher FPS, a higher resolution, shorter loading times, and the promising features of the new DualSense controller.
In short: Like a small child, I am currently looking forward to the new toy and can hardly wait to try it out myself.
But when it comes to games: However, when it comes to games, I see it differently. No matter how much I look forward to Sony’s new console – so far, no exclusive or launch title has truly grabbed me.
I always associate the launch of a new console with something innovative. With something new, something spectacular. With something that makes you say: Wow, that sounds exciting. I absolutely want that.
But whether it’s Godfall, Spider-Man, or Demon’s Souls at launch, or Hogwarts Legacy and Final Fantasy XVI afterward – so far, I haven’t seen a title that makes me say: Wow, I absolutely must have this now. Personally, I completely miss that this time around. At least when it comes to the games.
The only one that gets my fingers tingling is Cyberpunk 2077, though the true next-gen version of the game is also supposed to be delivered later.
Instead, I am currently looking forward to experiencing my favorite PS4 games in a new guise – such as Destiny 2 or The Division 2.
- For example, Destiny 2 on PS5 is supposed to offer true 4K resolution and run at 60FPS.
- Also, for The Division 2, which will be playable on PS5 due to backward compatibility, I hope for a timely comparable update.
Just like with Elder Scrolls Online, Elite Dangerous, Warframe, The Witcher 3, Anthem (yes, Anthem!) Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, as well as Warzone and of course Cyberpunk.
On PC, I have already seen what is possible, and I am currently most looking forward to the fact that my favorite PS4 games could soon make a significant leap in this direction with the new PS5. And I am looking forward to that more than any of the games that are supposed to come out at launch, during the launch period, or even immediately afterward for the PlayStation 5.
