To make the jump from copper and iron to the much better adamantite in Hytale, you first need to find it, but that’s easier than you think.
What is adamantite? Adamantite is an ore in Hytale that you can use to craft weapons, armor, and tools. It is stronger than iron and copper and can serve as a quick upgrade for your tools when you get it. The description of the ore translates to:
“This rare metal was once crucial for the advancements of the peoples of Crucible. Although little remains of the former glory of the city, traces of the resilient ore can still be found in the depths beneath these burned lands.”
Acquiring adamantite in Hytale
Where can you find adamantite? The rare ore can be found, as the description reveals, under the burned lands. In your world, you should look for a volcanic island in the sea. You can most easily find the island by opening your overview map and walking along the coast until the island appears.
You can simply swim to the island; boats are currently not needed. Once you are on the volcanic islands, you will primarily find adamantite ore in the “Cinder Waste” sub-biome, which you can see by the red-purple dots on the map.
The ore seems to spawn mainly near lava, but is generally rare. So if you find a lava lake, there are usually also some deposits of the red metal. To mine the ore, you will need at least an iron pickaxe.
What adamantite is used for
What do you make from adamantite? Adamantite is needed to craft the fifth set of weapons, armor, and a shield. For the tools in tier 6, you will also need adamantite and a level 3 workbench. However, before the tools and weapons can be crafted, the adamantite must first be smelted into bars in the furnace.
To build a complete set of adamantite gear, you will need some resources. For example, both the axe and the pickaxe require 8 bars each, and a full adamantite armor set including shield requires 85 bars. Additionally, your crafting stations must also be at the highest tier level 3 to be able to craft the items.
Adamantite is the penultimate tier that you farm for your character. Before heading to the fire island to loot the ore, you can also start with a lower tier, such as thorium.
