In the new MMORPG New World, you are not bound to classes and fixed attributes. You can freely distribute both skills and attribute points. But what to do if you have misallocated points? We at MeinMMO are here to help you.
How do weapon skills work in New World? If you use a weapon, you level it up. You gain experience for weapons involved in each kill.
This way, you level your weapons from level 1 to a maximum of level 20. For each level, you get one point that you can spend on a skill in one of the two skill trees for each weapon.
By the way, we are also happy to show you how you can quickly level up your weapons to level 20.
New World gives you many opportunities to experiment, as resetting and reallocating these points is free up to weapon level 11.
How can I respec a weapon? To reallocate the points you spent on a weapon, just follow this guide and respec:
- Navigate to the weapon menu, optionally using the hotkey K
- Select the weapon you want to respec
- Under the two skill trees, you will find the button “Change values”
- A pop-up will appear asking if you really want to respec
- Confirm it with “Yes” and you can reallocate your earned points
Until weapon level 10, this is free. From level 11, you will pay an increasing amount of Azoth to respec the weapon skills.
When can you respec? No specific level requirement is needed. Theoretically, you can redistribute the first point multiple times.
You can also do this almost anywhere in the world and at nearly any time. Only while a skill of yours is still on cooldown and in the middle of a fight is it not possible to reset the points.
Resetting attributes – Here’s how
How do attributes work in New World? For every level you rise in the new MMORPG, you receive attribute points. The higher you level up, the more points you can distribute for each level-up.
You can then choose to distribute these points to
- Strength,
- Dexterity,
- Intelligence,
- Focus
- or Constitution
and thereby specialize further.
But what if you want to use a different weapon that suddenly requires different values? Then you need to reset your attribute points.
How can I respec attributes? Follow this guide to quickly and easily respec your attributes:
- Open the attributes tab, optionally using the hotkey K
- Then go down to the button “Change values”
- A pop-up will appear that you must confirm with “Yes”
- You can then redistribute all previously earned points
Unlike with weapons, resetting attributes is free, depending on how high your character is. It is free up to character level 20, and from level 21 it becomes expensive.
However, it only costs gold and no Azoth. The amount required for respec increases the more points you have already used in total.
When can you respec? Here too, you don’t need any level requirement. You can reset your attributes anytime as long as you are not in combat.
