Ungrim Eisenfaust
The Eisenfaust is a king of contradictions. Ungrim is both a Slayer and a King – the last in a line of Slayer Kings who ruled over the fortress of Karak Kadrin.
As a Slayer King, Ungrim must take two oaths that are actually incompatible:
- On one hand, the oath of a king who serves and leads his people,
- and on the other, the oath of a Slayer who commits to seeking ever stronger opponents to achieve an honorable death on the battlefield.
Ungrim’s Slayer oath makes him a ruthless commander who has already experienced countless battles. For instance, he shattered a siege of Karak Eight Peaks by the Skaven, killed a dragon (which are among the oldest beings in the Warhammer Fantasy world), and held off an entire army of Chaos at the Battle of the North Pass.
Most Dwarfs can hardly believe that Ungrim Eisenfaust has survived all this. As a reward for his achievements, he received the Dragon Cloak from High King Thorgrim. This cloak was made from the skin of a dragon by a runesmith for an earlier High King.
