The Automatons deploy heavy artillery in Helldivers 2: the Factory Strider or also known as the Factory Scraper. These large behemoths are walking factories that can produce additional robots and attack you. You will learn how to find and defeat them in our guide.
The Factory Scrapers are quadrupedal robots with heavy armor and high damage output. They move slowly and produce new Automatons in their integrated factories that they can deploy as needed.
The Factory Striders are tough enemies that you must eliminate as soon as you see them. We will now show you where to find them and how to take them down.

How to find the Factory Scrapers: To find the Factory Scrapers, you first need to enter the red area of the Automatons. The Factory Scrapers can randomly appear in any mission set at difficulty level 4 or higher.
However, there is also a way to find them specifically, which is the “Eliminate Robot Factory Scrapers” missions. These will safely spawn some Factory Scrapers depending on the difficulty, allowing you to take them out.
How to kill the Factory Scrapers: The Factory Striders are heavily armored units, but they also have their weak spots. It’s important to dodge their turrets, as they can deal tremendous damage. If you have a clear shot, you should aim for the face of the Strider with the spear, the quasar cannon, or the Automatic Cannon.
A few shots should be enough to bring the beast to explode. However, you can also maneuver under its belly and shoot it with the anti-matter rifle, but that is rather a risky endeavor.
Additionally, the robot has large pistons on its back. When these extend and the connecting rods become visible, you can destroy them with precise shots.
Orbital strikes or Falcon attacks are also very useful. Use the following equipment:
- Orbital Railgun Strike
- Falcon – Air Strike
- Orbital Laser
- 380-MM-HE Orbital Barrage
- Orbital Precision Strike
If you also find a defective Hell Bomb in the surrounding area, you can shoot it and flatten all Factory Scrapers in the vicinity.
Here’s what you should keep in mind: Factory Scrapers are tough guys that you need to coordinate to defeat in a team. The fight against them can be made easier if you first destroy the turrets on the monster’s face. This way, you will have less pressure and can fully focus on the weak spots.
