The days of the Shudderwock in Hearthstone may already be numbered. Blizzard is considering changes to the most annoying card of all time.
The first days after the release of “The Witchwood”, the new expansion of Hearthstone, were a major problem. The enjoyment in Standard mode is missing for many players, as one card dominates many matches: the Shudderwock.
This legendary Shaman minion causes trouble in the community as it robs many players of their enjoyment of the game. Its Battlecry ensures that all other previously played Battlecries are repeated.
This makes it not only one of the most powerful legendary cards Hearthstone has ever had, but also one of the most annoying.
Because through – more or less – skillful combinations of cards, the Shudderwock can be played multiple times, each time prolonging the animations of the Battlecries.
Actually, a single turn in Hearthstone lasts a maximum of 90 seconds. But since the Shudderwock isn’t interested in that, turns can easily take 10 minutes or more, during which the animations are processed one after the other.
Shudderwock is Changing – But Will It Be a Nerf?
The developers of Hearthstone have heard the criticism. Dean Ayala from the Hearthstone team announced on Twitter that they wanted to gather feedback over the last weekend and then discuss changes to the Shudderwock early this week. Especially the timing of the animations is a point that needs improvement.
Whether there will actually be a “nerf” to the card remains to be seen. However, players’ frustration with the Shudderwock can quickly be exceeded.
