A long-time developer from Larian Studios summarized the first six months of his work at CD Projekt Red and gives players hope for Witcher 4.
Who is it about? Felix Pedulla is an experienced veteran in the role-playing genre and previously worked at Larian Studios as a Senior Cinematic Designer. About six months ago, he reportedly made the difficult decision to leave his old team to begin a new chapter at CD Projekt Red.
He is now part of the team for the highly anticipated new installment of the Witcher series. For this job, he metaphorically traded the dice of Baldur’s Gate for Polish steel. The switch was a huge step for him, as it meant not only leaving old friends behind but also moving to Poland and adapting to a completely new studio with entirely different tools and expectations for designers.

What does he reveal about Witcher 4? In a recent post on LinkedIn, Pedulla reflects on his early time at CD Projekt Red. He describes the past six months as extremely intense, grounding, and at times chaotic, but above all incredibly rewarding.
The work has pushed him to his absolute limits in unexpected ways. While Pedulla is very proud of what has been achieved so far, he cannot disclose any specific details about the story content or gameplay mechanics of The Witcher 4.
His statements remain intentionally vague. Nevertheless, he raises expectations massively with a single sentence. He ends his post with the clear statement: “And do you know what we are creating for The Witcher 4? Well… people are not ready for it.”
When is Witcher 4 coming out? A specific release date for The Witcher 4 is currently not known. So far, it was assumed to be released in 2027, but many fans now have legitimate doubts about that.
Just recently, a brand new DLC for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was surprisingly announced. This announcement leads the community to suspect that the release of the fourth part might not happen next year after all.
It will obviously take quite a while before players can hold the new title in their hands. However, the hopes for the next huge role-playing hit are immense – especially when veteran developers like Pedulla find such promising words.
For the developer, trading the dice of Baldur’s Gate 3 for Polish steel may have been a major turning point in life. Nevertheless, Pedulla is moving from one potential masterpiece to another here. But Baldur’s Gate continues: The evidently best Baldur’s Gate (it’s not 3) is reportedly getting a remake – This rumor has some validity
