HBO, the company behind series hits like Game of Thrones, is currently working on a new adaptation of the Harry Potter book series by J. K. Rowling. It starts with the adaptation of the first book, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.
The new adaptation will be filmed with a completely new cast. Whether there will be cameos from the film cast is currently unknown. However, everything that is already certain can be read in this article.

Who is streaming the first season of the “Harry Potter” series?
In Germany, HBO Max has been available since January 2026. This is the streaming service from Warner Bros., where the series is also set to launch in Germany at the end of 2026. Everything you need to know about the possible plot of the first season will be revealed on the next page.
How many seasons will the “Harry Potter” series have?
The series is set to dedicate one season to each of the seven novels. Accordingly, there will probably be a total of seven seasons.
The entire series is expected to be released within 10 years. Especially so that the young actors remain of the appropriate age. The first two seasons are set to be produced together.
