Are old actors returning?
For most roles, it is out of the question to cast old actors. The release of the first film was already 23 years ago. Therefore, the actors are now too old for their former roles, or unfortunately already deceased.
Daniel Radcliffe himself, who originally portrayed Harry Potter, made it clear, that he will not participate in the new series, and is very happy about it.
One exception is actor Warwick Davis. In the “Harry Potter” films, he played the role of Professor Filius Flitwick, the head of Ravenclaw house. He will reprise this role in the series, as announced in early September 2025.

What is the filming location of the new series?
Just like the “Harry Potter” films, a large part of the new series is also set to be filmed at the “Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden” in London. It could therefore be that parts of the familiar sets will be reused.
In May 2025, it was also announced that filming has taken place in France, near the “Tévennec” lighthouse. This likely pertains to the scenes on the lonely island, where Harry eventually learns about his magical abilities.
Many “Harry Potter” fans remain skeptical. Can the high expectations ever be met? Is a reboot even necessary, despite generally successful film adaptations?
