Guild Wars 2: Loot Boxes Revised – What’s Changing

In Guild Wars 2, the Black Lion chests no longer contain boosters. Instead, we receive more rare, unusual, and seasonal items when we open the loot chests.

In Guild Wars 2, we can regularly find chests from the Black Lion Trading Company, which we can only open with real money keys. The chests could contain cool costumes and other cosmetic items, but also boring boosters for experience points and the like.

More items, no boosters

Those who always found the boosters annoying and preferred equipment can now rejoice. Because Arenanet has removed the boosters from the loot list of the chests. Instead, there are now better chances for cool items, and each chest now contains a weapon, a piece of armor, a clothing set, a dye, a glider, a miniature, or a finishing move.

In addition, items from the seasonal events, such as the ongoing Halloween, may be included in the chest. This includes the cool glider called “Chasing Phantom Glider.” By the way, those who can show the title “Explorer of Maguuma” or “Tyrian Veteran” will receive a chest and a key for free in the shop.
