We will address each possible combination below and show you whether cross-platform play works there.
Crossplay between PS4/PS5 and PC
Is this possible? No, there is no Crossplay between PC and PlayStation (PS4 and PS5). You cannot play together.
Crossplay between PS4/PS5 and Xbox
Is this possible? No, you cannot play on PS4 or PS5 with Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S. Crossplay between different consoles is not active.
However, console generations can play with each other. So Crossplay between PS4 and PS5 is possible. Similarly, Crossplay between Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S is possible.
But there are also exceptions. Those who play the Enhanced version cannot play with players of the older version. This can be circumvented by playing the PS4 version of GTA Online on PS5. Then you can play with PS4 players.
Crossplay between Xbox and PC
Is this possible? No, Xbox players cannot play GTA Online in Crossplay with PC players. Again, the combination between console and PC is not available.
Crossplay between Steam, Epic Games and Social Club (Rockstar Launcher)
Is this possible? Yes, there is the possibility here. On PC, all players can play with each other.
All players from the Epic Games Store, Rockstar Launcher, and Steam can play together in Crossplay. You will connect on PC via the Social Club. Here you can add each other as friends and join each other’s game sessions.
Will there be Crossplay between PlayStation/Xbox and PC or Xbox and PlayStation?
This is the current status: So far, there have been no official statements that GTA Online intends to expand its Crossplay. While the developers are always capable of surprises, it is rather unlikely that a game from 2013 would overhaul everything again (but not impossible). Additionally, the upcoming release of GTA 6 makes a Crossplay update rather unlikely.
