The servers of Fortnite will be down today, on Thursday, July 16, 2026, for a patch. We are live for you and will provide you with the most exciting info about leaks and server status.
Today, your patience is again required, as Fortnite is receiving a fresh update to version 41.20 and brings various new features to the game. However, the servers will be shut down, and you won’t be able to play for a while.
To let you know when you can play again and what new features await you, we are here with the live ticker gathering all the important information for you so that you stay up-to-date. As soon as there are patch notes, you will also find them here.

Good morning! It’s about to start! Matchmaking has already ended, so until the servers are back online, you cannot play anymore.
If it goes as usual, you can presumably play again from 12 or 1 PM. We will keep you updated if it gets shorter or longer.
All important information about downtime and new content at a glance
- When are the servers going offline? On July 16, 2026, presumably starting from 10 AM. Shortly before, usually about 30 minutes prior, matchmaking will be disabled and you will no longer be able to enter.
- When can I play Fortnite again? With most updates, you can get back into the game after about 2 – 3 hours. The servers should be back online around 12 or 1 PM.
- When are patch notes released? Epic Games only sporadically publishes patch notes for the updates and usually only after the downtime. Once they are available, you will read them with us.
What content will there be? On the one hand, the summer event in Fortnite called “Hot Bat Summer” is starting. In addition, there will be a collaboration with the new Odyssey movie by Christopher Nolan, where you can secure matching skins. Some new sprites should also come with Batman, Seven, and Air.
