What are XP even? You can collect experience points in the game by performing various activities. Eliminations, opening chests, and certain coins are just a few ways to gather XP.
By collecting experience points, you level up – but you need a certain amount each time. This is especially important for Battle Pass owners, as rewards are unlocked through levels.
How many XP are needed?
Those who make progress in Fortnite will notice that the amount of XP needed is not the same for every level. This is because the amount actually varies.
For players who want to get an overview of their progress, this can be cumbersome, as it is not directly displayed in the game. We show you in this overview how many XP you need for each level.
XP up to Level 100 – Battle Pass
This many XP do you need for the Battle Pass: To unlock the entire Battle Pass, you must reach Level 100. The data miner HYPEX calculated how many experience points it takes. Here you can see how many XP you need for each stage of the Battle Pass:
- Level 1-2: 40,000 experience points per level
- Level 2-4: 50,000 experience points per level
- Level 4-13: 60,000 experience points per level
- Level 13-20: 70,000 experience points per level
- Level 20-100: 80,000 experience points per level

XP for Levels 100-225 – Unlocking Rare Styles
Some players may only want to unlock the Battle Pass of Season 5 and set themselves this goal. However, there are also players who want to grind further. Leveling up beyond Level 100 can be worthwhile if you want to unlock the rare skins of Season 5.
The amount of XP you need starting from Level 100 varies even more strongly. Here we show you how many XP you need per level to unlock the last rare skin – which is available at Level 225:
- Level 100-101: 50,000 XP
- Level 101-102: 50,250 XP
- Level 102-104: 50,500 XP per level
- Level 104-105: 50,750 XP
- Level 105-106: 51,000 XP
- Level 106-107: 51,250 XP
- Level 107-108: 51,500 XP
- Level 108-109: 51,750 XP
- Level 109-111: 52,000 XP per level
