The MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV has shown no mercy towards gold sellers in the past. Once again, numerous accounts have been banned.
Many MMOs have this problem. Spam messages in the chat, mostly in English, offering the purchase of in-game currency for little money. They are a plague for you and the developers since the latter risk losing their customer base. Who would want to enter a game knowing that they will be bombarded with this advertising every second?
While it is not as aggressive in Final Fantasy XIV, the gold sellers are still noticeable. About 6500 accounts have been permanently banned in the past few days. Of these, 1000 were due to advertising, and the rest for using the service. The numbers clearly show that there are indeed numerous buyers, and they constitute part of the problem. Square Enix intends to continue cracking down hard in the future. The company therefore asks all players to report suspicious activities via the reporting feature.
