FIFA 19 had a successful retail launch in the UK. The football simulation is traditionally one of the most popular games in the UK. However, compared to FIFA 18, the sales figures in stores have decreased.
Since September 29, FIFA 19 has officially been released. Already, the launch in the UK can be termed a success: Apparently, FIFA 19 is already the most successful title in the UK for 2018.
In comparison to 2018, FIFA 19 is not performing as well in retail sales.

FIFA 19 is successful, retail figures lower than FIFA 18
After just two days, FIFA 19 is at number 1 on the charts and has secured the title “the biggest game in the UK for 2018 so far.” Nevertheless, the recorded sales have decreased by a whopping 25% compared to FIFA 18, according to Gfk Chart Track.
Why have the figures decreased compared to last year? One possibility is that digital sales have significantly increased. These are not captured by Gfk. They only log physical sales, which refers to what really went “over the counter.”
Another reason could be that FIFA 19 simply sold worse than FIFA 18.
After all, FIFA 18 had a hard time with professionals, and there may be greater skepticism within the FIFA community. Nevertheless, FIFA 19 is selling very well.

On which platform is FIFA 19 most popular?
The PS4 sells the most copies in the UK, followed by the Xbox One. The Nintendo Switch is far behind.
- PS4: 64%
- Xbox One: 35%
- Nintendo Switch: 1%
The PC is not included in the statistics.
