Yamal too young for Ultimate Team – EA makes an exception
Why is Yamal not in Ultimate Team? The reason you can’t play Yamal in most modes in FC 24 is his age.
EA has the policy for Ultimate Team to only include players who are at least 17 years old at the official release. The youngest player according to the Ultimate Team database on futbin.com is the Pole Jakub Paszkowski, who was born on September 16, 2006. Thus, he became a young 17 shortly before the launch of FC 24.
Things are somewhat different in Career Mode. Here, you can find a variety of talents who are still 16 at the start of FC 24. Although Yamal was already part of the FC Barcelona starting lineup this year, he is also not to be found in Career Mode. This could be because Yamal turns 17 on July 13, which is very late for FC 24.
The young Spaniard is also not present in any other offline or online modes.
What is the exception? With the EURO update, which we reported on in more detail at MeinMMO, a new UEFA EURO 2024 mode was introduced. In the context of the official player nominations for the European Championship, EA responded accordingly and updated the squads of the participating national teams for the new mode.
This also included the addition of Lamine Yamal, who was given a rating of 76. So far, he has not received a player card from EA. His game face in the game still looks very generic.

If you wanted to play Yamal at all this season, you now have the opportunity to do so in the EURO mode. Whether the youngster will also appear in other game modes in FC 24 remains open for now. It is quite possible that we will only see his first card for Ultimate Team in FC 25.
