Whether for a challenge or as crafting material – burned books are useful in Fallout 76. We will show you where to find them safely.
The best locations for burned books: If you need burned books, you should travel to the building commonly referred to by players as “Book House” in Summersville. You can find it here on the map:

Simply follow Route 87A in the southwest of Vault 76, and you can hardly miss it. There, with a bit of luck, you can easily find over 100 books and quickly have what you need. Keep an eye out for shelves, stairs, or tables.
Alternatively, the “Brown House” at Camp Rapidan in Skyline Valley is also a good choice. You can find it in the middle at the southern edge of the map. Since the place is instantiated, you can search for books here unhindered and are not reliant on other players leaving something for you.
You can find it here:

Here you can secure around 20 burned books, making this location a safe bet if you’re worried that the Book House has been cleared out.
However, there are also some other locations you can aim for if you happen to pass by.
Other worthwhile locations to find burned books
If you want to keep an eye out for suitable locations along the way, there are a few other stops. Here you can securely find at least 10 specimens:
- Riverside Manor
- Shade Hill Church
- The Burrows
- Haven Church
- Eastern Regional Penitentiary
- The Whispering Mall
You can keep an eye on these places when you are on another mission, but still want to pick up books lying around.
