In Clair Obscur Expedition 33 you need many Lumina points. We will tell you two tricks to farm them.
If you want to get the most out of the characters in Clair Obscur Expedition 33, you need a lot of Lumina points. These are actually rare and quite tedious to obtain. But there are two methods to farm Lumina very quickly and in large amounts. We will introduce both to you in this post.
How does the trick work? The method is simple: defeat the clones summoned by the Chromatic Danseuse repeatedly without killing the boss herself. Because each clone you defeat increases the number of “Color of Lumina” at the end of the fight by 5. With solid equipment and well-leveled characters, you can get up to 1,600 Lumina in about an hour.
It is important that you never counter the Chromatic Danseuse. She has very few hit points and could die from a counter.
Note that this method only works once per playthrough. If you have already defeated the Chromatic Danseuse, you can only fight her again in the next playthrough (like in “New Game+”).
Also, be aware that this continuous farming can overwhelm some PCs and consoles. If you notice that your game starts to lag at some point, you should end the fight as quickly as possible and collect your loot. In the event of a game crash, the loot would be gone, and you would be back before the fight.
Method 2: Renoir’s Drafts
The second method can be found at Renoir’s Drafts. This is an endgame area that you unlock as soon as you gain the ability to dive with Esquie. We have explained how to do that in our Esquie guide.
Next, travel to the northern part of the map. There you will find a circle in the sea with an entrance portal. The water shimmers slightly bluish nearby, and you should also have a marker on the world map. Here is the endgame area “Renoir’s Drafts”.
How does the trick work? In this case, it’s not a real “trick” – but simple farming. Many of the enemies in Renoir’s Drafts have a guarantee to drop Color of Lumina. Especially the 3 “Contorsionniste” at the entrance (down the ramp and then left) always drop 3 Color of Lumina
and are very easy to defeat, as you just have to shoot at their eyes to deal extremely high damage.
You can reset the area at any time by resting at a flag. This makes all enemies respawn (as in the rest of the game), and they can drop their loot again.
If you are still lacking a bit of “punch”, it might be worth spending an hour or two in Renoir’s Drafts. You not only collect a lot of Lumina points, but you also gain a lot of XP, so you probably reach level 90 or higher in the end.
How many Colors of Lumina you farm is completely up to you. However, note that too many Lumina points can trivialize the game. If all characters have all Lumina abilities, even the toughest enemies fall in one blow. Combine that with our strong builds, for example for Lune, and no enemy can stop you.
