Call of Duty: Warzone will receive a completely new map later this year. From the gray Verdansk, it will transition to a green vacation paradise – an island in the middle of the Pacific. MeinMMO collects information about the map and shows images from all corners of the map.
Call of Duty: Warzone is the link between the annual premium titles in the CoD universe. The developers combine the stories, the farming for XP, and sometimes even the gameplay. With CoD: Vanguard, this “link” continues.
Update December 8 – 12:45 PM: The first gameplay of the new map and the patch notes for the Pacific update are live.
It turns out that the graphics hardly change and that the anti-cheat driver for PC will arrive later. We have updated the information in the article.
Information about the transition to the Pacific island – Release, size, Verdansk
When does the new map come? Caldera releases on December 8 at 6 PM for Warzone for all purchasers of Call of Duty: Vanguard. If you have not purchased Vanguard, you will only access the new map on December 9 at 6 PM. In these 24 hours, non-purchasers can only visit Rebirth Island.
Prior to that, Battle Royale will go offline for 12 hours, and with the start of Season 1 in Vanguard, Warzone will remain closed for a while. You can start the preload with the beginning of the server downtime – on December 8 at 6 AM.
All information about the download and the Pacific update process can be found here:
How big will Warzone: Pacific be? The new map Caldera is approximately the same size as Verdansk. With the release of an overview map, it is now known how similar the sizes are:
What happens to Verdansk, the old map? The presentation of Season 6 has already made it quite clear what is happening in Verdansk: Large parts of the city are being swallowed by the earth – in the literal sense.
As part of the story, the operator Adler activates bombs in the old Nazi bunkers under brainwashing, destroying half of the city. A path of devastation stretches from the stadium through the entire downtown area, demolishing parts of the “Downtown” area. You can find images and information about it in our special for Season 6 of CoD: Warzone.
The developers hinted in a blog post that the farewell may not be permanent. But Verdansk will likely be gone for a long time.

Warzone is now not changing as drastically as previously thought. Perks, movement, and weapons mostly remain as you already know them. However, the new map makes a very good and refreshing first impression – perhaps that is enough to convince skeptics.
On December 8, the first joint season of Warzone and Vanguard will also start. You can find all information about it here: CoD Vanguard & Warzone: Big Season 1 – Everything about Release and Content
