Better balance and better classes
What does the update bring? The new update “The Abyss of Chaos” brings restructuring of the classes. There will be massive changes to the balance of the classes, with their abilities adjusted to reduce clear favorites.
At the same time, the developers also want to ensure that the classes stand out. For this purpose, they have added 8 new abilities. The so-called “Stigma” skills are meant to add a unique skill to each class that only they can use.
The update also introduces new content. The new PvP mode “The Abyss of Chaos” will revive the faction-versus-faction mode from Aion 1 in a new form. The servers will be split into West and East, leading to massive battles.
Also new are the changes to the currency, which have already been announced, but are now being implemented into the game.
What is the status of the release of Aion 2? According to current information, Aion 2 is expected to be globally released in 2026. Publisher NCSoft reported in its earnings call to shareholders that the MMORPG should launch globally in the second half of the year, between July 1 and December 31, 2026.
It is important to mention, however, that the information shared with shareholders does not equate to a real announcement and is based only on the current state of knowledge. It is therefore quite possible that Aion 2 will avoid the release of GTA 6 and may indeed launch in 2027.
The fact that Aion 2 is bringing such significant updates for the economy and gameplay before its release should also please players in the West.
