On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, content creator Elias “EliasN97” Nerlich invites you to a big tournament on Twitch. 32 streamers will compete against each other in 8 teams in the new competitor to EA FC, Rematch. On MeinMMO, we will provide you with the most important information about when the tournament starts, where you can watch it, and which streamers will participate.
What kind of tournament is this? The Eligella Cup was originally founded by former esports athlete EliasN97 for FIFA (now EA FC). The tournament has also been held for Mario Kart. In the real-life Eligella Cup, streamers swap places in front of their devices and face each other in various mini-games.
The tournaments also always involve prize money. In the latest edition of the Eligella Cup, the winning team will receive 2,000 Euros.
When does the tournament start? On Wednesday (July 9, 2025), the cup will return after a 9-month break for a new football game. The official kickoff is at 7:00 PM.
What is this new football game? Rematch is the latest football simulation on the gaming market for PS5, Xbox, and PC. It impresses with a small football cage with few rules and a dynamic style of play. Each player controls their own pro and can run, shoot, defend, and trick with them.
Just one week after the official release, 3 million users played the game, including numerous streamers. Players enjoy Rematch because it is very engaging and the learning effect occurs quickly. These are likely reasons why EliasN97 is now even organizing a tournament with many German streamers.
Where can you follow the tournament? It will most likely be streamed on the Twitch accounts of all participants. To watch the host of the event, EliasN97, and his team, you can simply check out his Twitch account starting at 6:30 PM.

How does the tournament proceed? The teams will first be divided into two groups, each with 4 teams, and will play against each other within those groups. The first and second place teams will likely qualify for the semifinals. It’s unknown whether the third and fourth place teams will still have a chance.
The games will be played in a 4vs4 mode, where the streamers have no fixed positions with their pros. It will be interesting to see how the individual teams organize themselves on the field and what tactics they will choose. MeinMMO author Thomas Dummer has played the new football game and finds that Rematch does a few things better than its competitor from EA FC 25.
